TRIGGERS
The rotary screw compressors CRS have an electronic controller denominated "Fiac check
control basic", of which the control panel is illustrated and described in page 1, which
controls machine operation efficiently and safely.

UCHECKI NG THE SETTI NGS

1. You can check the general settings of the controller on the display by pressing the Up
arrow or Down arrow key:

UN.B.U: refer to the descriptions of the menus to learn about the meaning of the
parameters listed below.

MENUS ACCESSIBLE TO CLIENTS

HOW TO ACCESS HOW TO EXIT
PROGRAM key "DEFAULT" key

Press the program key to access the following sub-menus.

1. Time and Date setting CLOCK SETUP
2. Calendar menu for daily, weekly and monthly start and stop cycles, CLIENT SETUP

Once you have accessed the menu, scroll the sub-menus using the up arrow and down
arrow key; press the DEFAULT key to exit.

Press PROGRAM again to access the date.





The example display illustrates that the exact and current time and date are to be
indicated. Set the current date and time using the arrow keys and press "PROGRAM".

Once you have accessed the menu, scroll up and down using the Up arrow and
Down arrow keys. Press the "DEFAULT" key to exit.

1. CLIENT PROGRAM SETUP; SETTING THE CALENDAR FOR THE DAILY, WEEKLY AND
MONTHLY START AND STOP CYCLES.

If enabled, this function is used to program two daily start and stop cycles by entering
the start time and the stop time where hh stands for hours and mm stands for
minutes.
At the end of the week you can set three non working periods where dd stands for the
date and mm stands for the month.

To disable:
- Press "PROGRAM"
- Enter "2" using the Up arrow or Down arrow key
- Press "PROGRAM"
To enable:
- Press "PROGRAM"
- Enter "1" using the Up arrow or Down arrow key
- Press "PROGRAM"
Press the DEFAULT key to exit the menu.

Once PRESS START appears on the display, press the START key to activate the
calendar setting possibly made.

UEXAMPLE: PROGRAMMING THE CALENDAR

PRESS THE UP OR DOWN ARROW KEY TO MOVE ONTO THE CALENDAR PROGRAM, PRESS THE
PROGRAM KEY. TO CHANGE THE TIME, PRESS THE PROGRAM KEY THEN MODIFY THE VALUE
USING THE UP OR DOWN ARROW KEYS AND PRESS PROGRAM.

NB: IF AN ASTERISK APPEARS ON THE DIGITAL DISPLAY WHILE THE COMPRESSOR IS RUNNING
IT MEANS THAT THE CALENDAR IS ACTIVATED.

The menu is used to:

1. View and modify the hours of operation of the Compressor
2. View and modify just the hours of compression
3. View the hours left till maintenance is required
4. View and set the maintenance timing
5. Reset the hours left to Maintenance (3000)
6. View High Temperature Alarms
7. View Low Temperature Alarms
8. View Compressor Trip Switch Alarms
9. View Fan Trip Switch Alarms
10. Reset Alarm meters

Once you have accessed the menu, scroll up and down using the Up arrow and Down
arrow keys. Press the "DEFAULT" key to exit.

The display points out that you can reset all the alarms triggered, by pressing the RESET
key.

To access the menu:
- Press the "PROGRAM" key
- Using the arrow keys, enter
- "2" "5" "5" "5"
- Press the "PROGRAM" key

The menu is used to:
1. Select the language in which the controls are displayed (Italian, English, French,
German or Spanish).
2. Select the unit of measurement of the temperature displayed (degrees Celsius or
degrees Fahrenheit).
3. Modify the Star-Delta timing from 4 to 10 sec.
4. Modify the re-start timing in the case of timed stoppage.

Once you have accessed the menu, scroll up and down using the Up arrow and Down
arrow keys. Press the "DEFAULT" to exit.

Ex: To change the setting illustrated on the display, changing from Celsius to
Fahrenheit:

STAR-DELTA TIME

The display points out that the switching time from the Star connection to Delta
connection is 5sec; to change the setting, press PROGRAM then enter the new
numerical value (in sec) and press "PROGRAM".
NB : The time set for the Star timing varies from 4 to 10sec

Press the "DEFAULT" key to exit the menu.

RE-START TIME
(15 sec) UText displayed


The display points out the stopping or re-start time is 15sec after the stop or start key
has been pressed (this allows the total depressurisation of the system).
To change setting, press PROGRAM then the new numerical value (in sec) and press
"PROGRAM".
NB : You can set a re-start time that varies from 15 to 60sec

Press the "DEFAULT" key to exit the menu.

ALARMS

The alarms that may be encountered can be split up into two categories:
A] Stop ALARM (red led lit steady)
B] Warning ALARM (red led flashing)


A] Stop ALARMS

This type of alarm Ustops the compressorU and is pointed out by the red LED that lights up
steady (ALARM on control panel) and by a message that flashes on the display, which
points out the cause for the alarm.

1. When the limit temperature of the oil-air is exceeded (T>T.alarm=105C/221F), the
following message appears on the display:

UTHE COMPRESSOR STOPS! NB: The fan of the air-oil radiator starts.

To restore normal machine operation:
- Wait for the temperature (T) to drop by at least 10C/18F compared to the limit
temperature, then reset.
- Press the "RESET" button on the control panel to set the compressor ready to start
again.

2. The following may appear on the display:

UTHE COMPRESSOR WILL NOT START BECAUSE THE TEMPERATURE IS BELOW 6C

To restore normal machine operation:
If the temperature rises above 5C press the "RESET" key on the control panel and the
one inside the machine to set it ready to start again.


3. When the trip switch of the electric motor of the compressor trips, the following
message appears on the display:

To restore normal machine operation:
- Wait for the temperature of the motor to cool down to normal values.
- Eliminate the cause that tripped the alarm, press the reset key of the trip switch
(F1) within the electric control cabinet and press the "RESET" key on the control
panel.



4. The following may appear on the display:

UTHE COMPRESSOR STOPS!

To restore normal machine operation:
- If the temperature of the motor cools down to normal values, and after having
eliminated the triggering cause, press the reset key of the trip switch (F6) within
the electrical control cabinet and press the reset key on the control panel to set the
compressor ready to start again.
NB:
FOR CRS 5.5-7.5-10: THE MOTOR OF THE FAN HAS A BUILT-IN TRIP SWITCH THAT
STOPS THE FAN, IN WHICH CASE THE COMPRESSOR WILL STOP DUE TO THE
OVERHEATING ALARM.



B] Warning ALARM

This type of alarm Udoes not cause the compressor to stopU and is usually pointed out by
the flashing red LED (ALARM on the control panel) together with a buzzer and the display
indicating the warning message.

This points out that the pre-established number of hours before maintenance is
required has been exceeded. Maintenance must be carried out following the
instructions provided in the Use and Maintenance handbook supplied together with
the machine. See item 4 and 5 of the MAINTENANCE MENU to reset the maintenance
hours.
