A Peek at Our Week:
Reading: We will continue a project-based learning unit to study
genres of literature.
Math: We will finish a unit on adding within 100. Test on Friday
Writing: We will continue our animal research project to determine
if our favorite animal would make a good pet.
Science/Social Studies: We will start a unit on animal
classifications.
Reminders:
We will start selling yearbooks on
Monday, May 12th. The cost of a
yearbook is $12 for students.
We need parent volunteers to
help with the set- up of the EWE
Art Show that will take place in

Sound Check:
We will be learning about compound words this week. Examples of
compound words are butterfly, pancake, cupcake, and
hummingbird.
Sight Words and Family

Compound words:
bedtime, sunset, bathtub,
sailboat, flagpole
(all 5 words will be on the spelling
test)

The students will also write 10
review words from the word
walls.

This will be our last spelling
test of the year!
Homework Help:
Please remind your students to
use complete sentences when
answering questions. This is a
skill we are working on in class.
