Contents of the Cement Programme

The Cement Programme gives a detailed description of any non standard operations which are proposed. It shall also outline risks involved and
precautions to be taken. (Reference shall be made to the Drilling Programme as appropriate.)
Well Status
Previous Casing
The Cement Programme shall include:
diameter (inches)
weight (lbs/ft)
grade
coupling
shoe measured and vertical depth (ft)
leak-off test value (ppg).
Hole Size
The Cement Programme shall include:
hole diameter (as drilled / opened etc.)
hole depth
calliper available ? if so, state tool type
hole diameter, or volume if appropriate, from calliper compared with theoretical diameter/volume
annular and casing volumes used for calculation
bottomhole static and circulating temperature.

Casing To Be Run
The Cement Programme shall include:
diameter (inches)
weight (lbs/ft)
grade
coupling
shoe depth (ft)
float collar depth (ft)
DV collar depth, ECP depth (ft)
hang-off point.
Mud Characteristics
The Cement Programme shall include:

mud type
mud gradient
rheology and gel strengths.
Open Hole Pressure Profile
The Cement Programme shall include a brief statement of pressure profile identifying any anomalous gradients, top overpressures, depleted formations,
shale or expected packed of section etc.
Fluid Distribution/Top Hydrocarbon
Regarding casing to be run, the Cement Programme shall include a brief statement of fluids in penetrated reservoirs including vertical depth of top
hydrocarbon (e.g. water, gas, or oil ? if unknown ? state unknown!).
Cementation Design Details
TOC
Regarding TOC, the Cement Programme shall include:
depth of required top of good cement, CBL/VDL/USIT to be run in critical cases or for DST with 30% draw down (state upper and lower limit if
applicable)
In accordance with programme: YES/NO
reason for any planned change.
Hydrostatic Head/Overbalance
Regarding hydrostatic head/overbalance, the Cement Programme shall include:
identification of calculated positions/depths of all components (top connection) of cementation, i.e. spacers, scavenger, slurry lead and tail
minimum overbalance during cement job, at what stage it occurs, and which sand/interval will experience this minimum overbalance
detail floating and collapse during cementation (surface casing).
Rheology calculations
Regarding rheology calculations, the Cement Programme shall include ECD at previous casing shoe at expected circulation rates.
Surface Lines
The Cement Programme shall include a detailed rig up of surface lines, especially wellhead to cement unit, low torque valve, cement lines marked
1,2,etc.
Time Estimate / Thickening Time
The Cement Programme shall include the time estimate for
pumping main slurry

20% safety factor
contingency
total time estimate.
The Cement Programme shall also include the recipe, pumpable time and thickening time.
