About Tom Mirabile

Born in Lancaster, Ohio and raised on the Northwest Side of Chicago, Tom
has been practicing law for 3 !ears "#is law office is located in $heaton, %llinois"
Tom has been on the facult! at &S' since ())* teaching in the graduate Masters of
#ealth Care Administration program and MBA program" #e also ser+es on the Ad+isor!
Council for ,raduate programs at &S' and has recentl! been appointed to a three !ear
term on the ad+isor! board for the College of Law at -e.aul &ni+ersit! "
Tom has been appointed this !ear to the Law facult! of the &ni+ersit! of Li+erpool
facult! of law for its global ad+anced law degree programmme
.rior to his return to %llinois in ()), Tom ser+ed as a .rofessor at O/lahoma Cit!
&ni+ersit! School of Law and the ,raduate School of Business" #e is also ser+es as an
ad0unct professor at The College of Law at -e.aul &ni+ersit! in Chicago" Tom has
taught in China and Singapore and has been recentl! appro+ed as a candidate 'ullbright
scholar" Tom was named a Senior 'ellow of the $estern .acific %nstitute in ())3 as a
result of his wor/ and publications on Asian affairs"
#e has published e1tensi+el!2 his most recent publication can be found in the 3ournal of
%nternational Law of Michigan State &ni+ersit! on Aids, Africa and Access to Medicines
$hile he researching his most recent publication, he met a nurse of British deri+ation
from Cape Town ,South Africa who was at the time, initiating medical programs in
Accra, ,hana"
The relationship blossomed courtes! of innumerable long distance phone calls, the net
and a massi+e accumulation of fre4uent fl!er miles between Chicago and Cape Town
resulting in the relocation of his wife .am to %llinois along with a Step Son Neil " Another
Step Son, .aul a graduate of &ni+ersit! of South Africa , resides in Manchester 5ngland
and wor/s as a consultant "
Tom has two children of his own, Adrian who recentl! graduated from the &ni+ersit! of
Tampa and resides in Columbus ,eorgia and 3oe who currentl! ser+es on the &SS
#iggins in the &nited States Na+!

American Law
