Your teacher will indicate your progress, using the ‘Motivational Index’ as outlined below.
MOTIVATIONAL INDEX:
In lessons
M7 You work your socks off in every lesson and are
doing very well. You are self motivated and keen
to learn. You always actively contribute to the
lesson. You have an excellent working relationship
with your teacher and other classmates.
M6 You work hard in all your lessons and are doing
well. You have a very good working relationship
with your teacher and other classmates. You can
improve by actively engaging with extension tasks
or verbal contributions.
M5 You generally work well. You have a good working
relationship with your teacher and other
classmates. You can sometimes drift in lessons,
and can improve by being more focused at times,
and contribute more to discussion and when
completing written tasks.
M4 You do not always come to lessons prepared to
learn. You can be slow to settle and are too chatty.
You can improve by always bringing basic
equipment, avoiding off task chatter and listening
more carefully, and by completing tasks set.
M3 Your behaviour is affecting your learning and
progress. You do not arrive at lessons ready to
learn, and you are not following basic school rules
about behaviour for learning. You must improve by
arriving on time, with basic equipment and allowing
the teacher to talk without interrupting and
completing tasks set. You must accept reminders
about in class behaviour
M2 Your behaviour is seriously affecting your learning
and progress. You do not arrive at lessons ready
to learn, and you are not following basic school
rules about behaviour for learning. You must
improve by arriving on time, with basic equipment
and allowing the teacher to talk without interrupting
and completing tasks set. You must accept
reminders about in class behaviour
M1 Your behaviour is seriously affecting your learning
and progress
Your teacher may also write a general comment on your work, award a credit stamp for good work and/or
effort and give you a development target(s)

adding more depth and detail
You have worked reasonably well on your
homework/ELP. However, you could put in
more time and effort to complete the tasks to a
higher standard to fulfil all the requirements of
the task set
Although you have produced a decent
ELP/homework, you have not put in enough
effort in order to meet all the requirements of
the task set. You can improve by completing
the task in full and in more depth.
You have fulfilled some of the requirements of
the homework/ELP task to satisfactory
standard. You can improve by completing all of
the task set and to a higher standard.
You have only completed some of the
requirements of the ELP/homework task and
put in an inadequate amount of effort. You can
improve by completing all of the task set and by
following the instructions fully.
