Education
Bachelor of Nuclear Engineering and Management April 2014 University of Ontario Institute of Technology (UOIT), Oshawa, ON GPA of 3.13/4.3 in the most recent semester (2.99 GPA overall) Related courses: Nuclear Plant Safety, Nuclear Fuel Cycles, Radioactive Waste Management, Strategic Management
Key Courses Thesis II: Applied research, analysis and written communication skills to write a report on conceptual Supercritical Water Reactors (SCWR) for CNSC and developed selection criteria based on the important factors such as heat transfer, irradiation, material strength, corrosion, etc. Radioactive Waste Management: Learnt about the various institutions and facilities around the world involved with radioactive waste storage or disposal through he use of numerous engineered and natural barriers Fuel Waste Repository Design (Radioactive Waste Management): Worked with a large team to create a waste disposal facility
Nuclear Plant Design: Gained knowledge on the design techniques as well as further expanding the knowledge of CANDU and other reactors and their respective design features. Switchyard Conceptual Design (Nuclear Plant Design): Designed a switchyard for a nuclear power plant based on functional, performance, safety and other requirements
Nuclear Plant Safety: Understood and applied safety and regulation knowledge and how governing bodies affect power generation companies. Shielding Design: Studied concepts behind shielding effects, shielding design, dose and dose rate as well as utilized programs which model these scenarios. Risk Analysis Methods: Developed Fault tree and event tree diagrams for analysis of real world situations. Also studied risk concepts, probabilistic risk assessment, quantification of basic events and common cause failure analysis.
