Thestoryof OROP Desert islongandcomplicated. LetusbeginwiththewordOROP. Thiswordwascoinedtodesignateall operations
onthepart of humanbeingsregardingDESERT. Desert hereincludesdrought, atmosphericconditionswhichleadtodrought anddesert,
andthetechnical means, basedonthescientificunderstandingof nature, whichcould, possibly, dosomethingbeneficial aboutthe
preventionof drought anddesert development.
"OR" isincludedbecausethescientificdataunderlyingour technological dataondesert developmenthavebeenworkedoutintherealm,
method, researchandtechnical developmentof thought, whichdiffersfromother systemsof thinkinginthat it isneither mechanisticnor
mystical, butfunctional, energetic.
Thus, "OROP" comestodesignateengineeringoperationsinvolvingtheCOSMICENERGY FUNCTIONS.
Thisdoesnotendtheintroductionof OROP Desert. Thephysical desert outsideinnatureisamatter of millenniaof cosmicevents. Many
placesonour planet wereonceflourishinggreen, fruit-bearingcountrysideswhichnourishedrichandhappyhumanculturesand
civilizations. Only25,000yearsago, theSouthwest of theUSA, sothearchaeologistsandgeologiststell us, wasinhabitedbymenliving
ongreenlands. Thisistrue, without goingintodetailedproof here, of theNileDelta, andthelandwhereJ esushadwalkedtheearthonly
2,000yearsago, thewholeregionaroundNazareth, today subsumedunder thename"Near East". Wearetoldbyhistorians, too, that
other regions, suchastheMexicanandSouthAmericanplainsandvalleys, today poor, wereoncerich. This, I suppose, isalsotrueof the
RomanEmpire, today reducedtoapoor, plague-ravagedItaly.
What underliesthemakingof deserts?
It isobviousthat desertsarenotmerelyproductsof someunknowneventsinnature; they arespreadingmoreandmoreover vast regions
of our globe. Theseveredroughtswhichthreatentoextinguishall humanexistencearetrulyfunctionsof desert development. The
followingchart, takenfromUS News & World Report depictsthespreadingof thismenaceintheUSA today.
Figure 1: Winter Drought ~
Thepoint tobestressedintheapproachtotheproblemof desert developmentisthis:
Desertsarebasedonnatural functionswhichoperateinthedirectionof dehydrationof theatmosphereandsoil, i.e., death. However, man
wouldhaveconqueredthedesert andwouldhavebeencapableof haltingthedevelopmentof desert hadhehimself notbeensubjectedto
aprocessinhisemotional structure, aprocesswhichweshall designateas"Emotional Desert".
Manhimself isresponsiblefor desert makinganddesert breaking. Manhasthetoolsof knowledgeandthetoolsof technologyatis
disposal today tocombat desert development, andeventoturnexistent desertsbackintogreen, richpasturesfor manandanimal alike.
Thefirst obstacleintheway of OROP Desert isnottheouter desert, buttheinner, emotional desert of man.
Thisisahighlyresponsiblestatement, indeed: it will takesharpfactstoproveit. Again: Manhimself preventsnowandhasprevented
over theagesthecombat of deserts.
Desert-makingoutsideinnaturecorrespondstothemakingof emotional desertsinour infantsbeforeandafter birth, over theages, all
throughandfar beyondthewrittenhistoryof mankind. Boththeinner andouter desert arerootedintheprocessof shrinkageanddyingof
"vitality", immobilizationof biological energy.
Weshall fromnowonwarddesignateoperationsregardingtheouter desert asOROP Desert, andregardingtheinner desert asOREP
Desert. OREP meansOperationsRegardingtheEmotional Plague(EP) of mankind.
Wearebynowquitefamiliar withwhat thetermEmotional Plague, briefly EP, means. Wehaveexperiencedthedeadly, desert-like

Chapter 1
Expansion & Contraction in the Atmospheric OR Energy
Letusnow, inpreparationfor amoredifficulttask, takearespiteformthegraveproblemsof basicnatural research; let uswander about
inthefieldof nature, asif onvacation, just lookingandenjoyingthings. Our compassinthenewterritorywill beonly afewwell-known
lawsof orgonomicfunctioning; weshall observetheatmosphereinanunbiasedway asif nothingatall wereknownaboutit. Thenwe
shall meet withwhat theobservant farmer knowsabouttheweather.
(1) Smoke from Chimneys ~
Intheopencountryside, somefromchimneysdriftseither straight upwardsor it lingersmoreor lessparallel totheground. Somefarmers
predictgoodweather whenthesmokedriftsstraight upward, andbadweather whenthesmokedriftshorizontally. Isthereanyobjective
truthinthisrule?
Orgonomicobservationandreasoningtell us: TheOR energy envelopeexpandsandreachesfar outintospaceingoodweather; onthe
other hand, it withdrawsandconcentratesatthesurfaceof theglobebeforetheonset of badweather (Rheumaticandcancerouspatients
react tothiscontractionwith"pullingpains". Thebio-energeticsystemrespondstothesurroundingOR energy ocean). Thebluehaze
disappearsfromthemountains; themountainsappear tobecloser. Thiswithdrawal of OR energy fromcertainplacesandits
concentrationinother regionsneedsweakenstheexpansiveforceintheatmosphericOR energy whichisdirectedagainstthepull of
gravity. Thesmokefromchimneyswill notbeabletoliftstraight intotheatmosphereagainstthepull of gravity. Ontheother hand, with
evenandstrongexpansionof OR energy theexpansiveforcewhichcounteractsgravityispowerful enoughtomakethesmokedrift
straight upwards. Weshall encounter thisbehavior inadifferent context, inaviation.
(2) Fog ~
Thebehavior of smokefromchimneysfallsinlinewiththebehavior of fogonearlyautumnmornings. Onwarmsummer daysthereis
rarelyanyfoginthevalleysbetweenmountainsexcept inhigher andcolder regions. Inautumn, ontheother hand, fogdevelopseasilyin
low-lyingvalleys. Asthesunrises, thefogdisperses, incertainvalleys, thefogdriftshorizontallyfirst beforeit risesanddisperses.
What couldbethereasonfor thisbehavior, different insummer andautumn, or incolder andhigher, asagainstinwarmer andlower
regions?
Hereagain, wemust think of thedispersive, expansivequalitiesof OR energy. Insummer, inwarmer andinlower regionstheexpansive,
anti-gravityactionof theatmosphericOR energy isstronger thanincolder or higher regionsandinautumn. Thereislesspower available
tocarrythewater vapor andtodisperseit highupthanisavailableonarmdays, inlower regions. Thewater vapor will notbeableto
disperseor torise. Theresultwill bewhat iscalled"fog".
Whenthesunmountsover thehorizon, it exertsmoreandmoreexcitationupontheweakenedOR energy. Thedispersive, expansive
power of thelatter increases; it isnowbetter abletodisperseandcarrythewater vapors: thefogliftsanddisperses. Clouds, if any, slowly
disappear.
(3) Arid & Rainy Regions ~
Wehavenowlearnedabouttherelationshipof atmosphericOR energy andsmall particlesof smokeandwater vapor. Thus, better
equipped, our observations, aswewander throughtheopencountryside, becomemoreacute. Weseemoreandweunderstandbetter
what wesee: thingswhichremainedunobservedor misunderstoodasthe"Oh, that'snothing, just thisor that" varietybecometransparent
toour eyes. Letusgoonestepfurther:
It iswell knownthat theair over hotdesertsremainsdry, that it never or only rarelyrainsthere. It isalsoknownthat duringsome
summersinsomeregionswherethereismuchwater inrivers, inlakesandintheground, it doesnotrainfor monthsonend, with
resultingfiredanger tovillagesandforests.
Ontheother hand, thereareregionswhereit rainsnearlycontinuously, wheretheair ismoistandheavydowntotheearth, andit
happensthat it rainsfor weeksonend.
Wheredoesall themoistureinthelatter casecomefrom?Isit evaporationof moisturealone?

Thisexplanationisobviouslyinsufficient. For, why doesit notrainfor weeksonendinregionswherewater isplentiful andthesunbeats
downhotly, dryingupevery wet clothinafewminutesinavery dryair?Theremust besomereasonfor this.
Againwecanusewhat wehavelearnedabouttheexpansive, dispersiveforceinOR energy: wherethereismuchmoisturebutlittlerain,
theatmosphericOR energy isstrongandpowerful, asfor instanceintheMediterraneanregionsclosetotheever-present billionsof tons
of water. Thewater vapor iscontinuallybeingdispersed, thedistributionismoreor lesseven, nomajor concentrationsof OR energy and
thereforenocondensationof water vapor canoccur. Theexpansive, dissipatingfunctioninOR prevails.
Inother regions, suchasinmountainousterrain, wheretherearegreat differencesintheconcentrationof atmosphericOR energy dueto
differencesinhighandlowshadowyvalleysandwarmmountainslopes, thereismuchrainevenif thereislittlewater toevaporate. The
concentrating, contractingforceinOR prevailsandcreatesdifferencesof potential intheatmosphericenergy andwater vapor
distribution. However, weshall findlater onaspecificconditioninthedesert atmospherewhichpromotesafast evaporationrateand
restrainsOR concentrations, thusenhancingclouddissipation.
(4) The Ring around the Sun & Moon before "bad" Weather ~
Often, beforetheonset of badweather, aringof varyingdiameter appearsaroundthemoonandthesun. Farmersandpeoplelivinginthe
mountainspaygreat attentiontothesephenomena. What doestheringmean?
Letusdrawasketchthat will depict tworingformationsunder different OR energy conditions:
Figure 2: Three States of Expansion in the OR Envelope ~
(1) Ring around sun with expanded OR envelope is smallest
(2) Ring around sun with slightly expanded, pre-rain OR envelope
(3) Ring around sun with greatly contracted OR envelope
In(1) theOR envelopeof theEarthislargelyexpanded. Theraysof sunor moonhit andpenetratetheOR envelopehigher upthanin2
and3. In2and3theOR energy hascontracted, it outer layersarecloser towardtheEarthsurface. Thediameter f theringnowdepends
only onthedegreeof contractionof theOR envelope; thediameter if theringisindirectrelationtothecontractionof theOR envelope.
StronglyconcentratedOR energy transmitstheexcitationwhichiscommonlycalled"light" inadifferent manner thanthinner OR
energy. Theringwill constitutealarger or smaller circle, dependingonthestateof expansionor contractionof theOR envelope; it is
delineatedbythedifferenceinthetransmissionof lightinthe"thinner" andinthe"thicker OR energy layer.
TheatmosphericOR energy contractsbeforerain, attracting, condensing, andsuspendingwater vapor intheatmosphere, comingdown
later asrain. ThemoreconcentratedtheOR energy, thebroader isthe"thinner" outer region, thelarger isthering, andviceversa. No
ringdevelopswhentheOR energy envelopeisevenly distributedintohighregionsof theatmosphere.
(5) OR expansion in spring & contraction in autumn ~
Thetotal expansionandcontractionof theatmosphericOR energy envelopeincertainregionsisbest expressedinthefunctionsof nature
whichweobserveinspringandautumn. Most of thephenomenaweencounter onour wanderingthroughthecountrysideduringthese
twoperiodsfall intoacomprehensivesettingof weseetheminthelightof acontractingandexpandingOR energy envelopeof the
Earth. Thetrigger for theexpansionor contractionmay or may notbetheraysof thesunasit risesor fallswiththeecliptic. But the
connectionbetweenweather functionsandtheexpansionandcontractionof theOR envelopecannot bedoubted, for thefollowing
reasons:
Theincreasingcoldinautumnresultsfromalessactive, contractedOR energy envelope. Ontheother hand, themountingheat isthe
resultof amoreactive, expandingOR energy envelopeinspring. Gasesbehavejust thesameway withrespect to"heat", i.e., expanded,
highlyactiveOR energy. Water, asweknow, immobilizescompletelywhenfreezingandevaporatesintohighlyactiveandmobilevapor
above100C.
"Heat" isaccordingly relatedtoanexpansive, and"cold" toacontractiveOR energy.

Tojudgefromthecolor of theleaves, theappearanceof thetreesinspringandinautumn, andthefineshimmeringaroundthetreesin

it mergeswiththecosmicOR energy flowwhichisbeyondthegravitational fieldof theplanet.
TheOR energy contractsandexpandsasatotal energy system. Asit doesso, it enrichesor impoverishestheworldof plantsandanimals

Inspring1952, thesituationatOrgononbecamebadindeed, tothepoint of completecollapseof theactivitiesandlivingconditions. It
will benecessarytosurvey, inadifferent context, theemotional andphysical reactionsof theworkersatOrgononduringthiscollapse.
TheObservatorywasevacuatedinApril 1952. It didnotreturntoanyorderlyactivitybeforeNovember 195, whenwesucceededin
removingfromtheatmospheresomeof theblack matter, calledMelanor (M?), whichhadsettledandcontinuedtosettleuponeverything,
rockwalls, apparatus, skinsurfaces-- doingall kindsof damage.
I wouldliketoaskthereader tobepatientwiththefollowingenumerationof functional processeswhichemergedonebyonefromthe
DOR emergencyatOrgonon. Thefunctionswerethese:
(1) StudiesdevotedtoMelanor activitybothintheinanimateandthelivingrealm, regardingtheir connectionswithatmospheric
functions.
(2) Strenuouseffortstocopewiththeemergencycausedbytheatmosphericconditions. Gravedistresswasabundant everywhere, not
only atOrgonon. Wehadidentical reportsfromNewYork, Philadelphia, theWest Coast, andin1953evenfromTel-Aviv. DR seemedto
havespreadnearlyover half theglobe. Theeffortstoeliminatetheemergencyresultedinonelineof developmentsintheinventionof a
machine, later termedthe"Cloudbuster", meaning: "busting" uptheatmosphericDOR clouds, thesourceof thedistresstolivingbeings
(See"DOPR Removal &Cloud-busting", OEB IV/4, 1952, reprintedhere; seeChapter 10).
(3) Attemptstoovercomewhat cametobecalled"DOR Sickness". Thissicknesswhichischaracterizedbyawell circumscribedgroupof
symptoms, hadalreadybeenstudiedduring1951inthecourseof thefirst runof theOranur Experiment. Manynewfeaturesof theDOR

(4) All functionswhichconstitutedtheDOR emergencyhadclear-cutrelationstotheDOR clouds; andthese, inturn, slowly revealed

(b) Thebreakingof thedrought atEllsworth, ME onJ uly 6, 1953, andthroughcloudbuster operations(OROP) bothatOrgononand

It wasalsopossibletokeeppredictedrainawayfor Rangeley on"Children'sParade" day, August 9, 1953for onewholedaywhileit was

Theresultinall thesecaseswasclearly attributabletoOR operations(OROP); they contradictedoftenthecorrespondingofficial weather

most workersatOrgonon. Asthemonthsandyearspassedby, many millionsof peopleall throughtheUSA andtheworldfell ill from

minutestoseveral days. What isbeingcalled"smog" over bigcitiesisamixtureof fog, soot, etc. Thisfogbecomesstagnantanddoesnot
dissolvewhenDOR cloudsarepresent intheatmosphere. It appearsnotonly over bigcities, butalsointheopencountrysidewhichis
freeof anyindustrial smoke. So-called"smog" has, therefore, littletodowithsmoke; however, industrial regionsfull of soot may well

particlesintheair. TheOrgoneInstituteorganizedandreceivedreportsfrommany partsof theUSA aboutDOR sickness, thebulkof the
reportscomingfromNewYork.
Typical symptomsof DOR sicknessare:
General fatigueandemotional distress; insomecasesthefatigueisinterruptedor evenreplacedbyemotional outburstsof hatred. Nausea
frequentlyfollowsinthewakeof prolongedfatigue. Pressureinhead, chest, armsandlegsarecommon. Respirationisdifficult, and
sensationsof lack of oxygenfrequentlyaccompanythedistress. Thirst, hunger for muchwater, isgraveunder conditionswhichpromote
aDOR atmosphere, suchaspresenceof fluorescent lights, neonsignsinarestaurant, clocksandwatcheswithluminousdials, x-ray
machinesinahospital filledwithfilingcabinetswhichact asaccumulatorsof atmosphericenergy.
Hot flashesalternatewithablacknessof appearance. Facesappear bluishtopurple. Peopleseemtobechoking, asit were. Theycomplain
about"somethingwrongntheair", or "somethingqueer goingon".
Heartfailureswithsubsequent deatharefrequent, especiallywhenprolongedfogor drizzlingrainwithlow-lyingcloudsprevent the
supply of freshoxygenandOR energy fromtheatmosphere.
Diarrheaisoneof themost distressingsymptomsinprolongedDOR emergency. Thestoolsbecomeblack, duetoMelanor whichis
beingeliminatedthroughtheintestinal tract. Theyalsobecome. Inadvancedcases, soft towatery andcontainmuchmucus. Symptomsof
dysenterymay developfurther, uptoamoebaeinthestools. Thishasnothingwhatever todowith"infection". Theprotozoadevelopfrom
low-chargedepithelia(seetheCancer Biopathy, 1948).
Whentheatmosphereclearsagain, either spontaneously or bymeansof DOR removal, thesymptomslikewiseabate, butthey never fully
disappear aslongasthereareODR cloudspassingover theregionor, asinbigcities, arehoveringover buildingsfor weeksonend. The

Thestoolsof DOR-sick peoplemay attimesbecomewhiteor gray fromlack of bile. But theblackishsoft andwatery stool isthemore
typical symptom.
Nauseamay developintofrequent vomiting.
Tachycardiaisnotaninfrequent symptominsomecases.
Typical isalsoashiveringor fibrillar quiveringof musclegroupsinvariouspartsof thebody. Suchfibrillationsmay harasstheheart.
Typical of DOR sicknessisanemotional dullness, aletdowninstaminawhichattimestakestheformof stupor insomecases. It goes
hand-in-handwithadull gazeintheeyes, withanexpressionof despair of theface, notnecessarilyknowntothevictimof thedisease. At
times, ametal ceilinginaroomfull of peoplemay induceacompletestandstill of emotional functioning.
During1952and1953, thereweremoreprisonriotsintheUSA thanever beforeinasimilar stretchof time. Thisisnowunderstandable
asarevoltof organismsagainstthetortureof livinginmetal cageswithDOR cloudspresent.
Inadditiontothesetypical symptoms, personsmay developvariousatypical symptomsfromtheir individual constitutioninresponseto

Lossof bodyheat downtoatemperatureof 96?F or lesshasbeenobservedinseveral cases.

(2) Quest for source of DOR & Melanor (1951-1952) ~
Uponrealizationof thenatureandwidespreaddistributionof DOR sicknessit becameclear: TheOranur Experimenthadnotcausedthe
atmosphericconditionswhichwereresponsiblefor theDOR emergency. Theexperiment hadonly reproducedandrevealed, asif under a
high-power microscope, what hadbeengoingonover agesonalesser scale; it had, furthermore, accentuatedeffectsof variousatomic
functions. Thosewereright whosaidthat atomicenergy work didnotcauseDOR clouds. ORANUR adds: Atomicenergy operations
only constituteonepotent irritatingfactor that excitestheatmosphericOR energy intoORANUR andDOR. But thisisfar frombeing
thecompletepicture.
Theproblemof what wascausingthegravedistressatOrgononandinother partsof theUSremainedunsolveduntil theKeyhoereport
ontheso-called"FlyingSaucers" appearedinautumn1953, releasedunder theauspicesof theUSAir Force.
Thefollowingproblemshadbeset Organonfromthevery beginningof theDOR emergencyinJ anuary1951, startingwiththefirst

(2) WhydidDOR seemtocometowardtheOrgoneEnergyObservatoryfromtheWest or Southwest, andhover over it for hoursonend?

(10) Howcouldthecosmicoriginof Melanor beverifiedtothesatisfactionof themost demandingscrutiny?
Answer, Summer 1953(entirelyunexpected): Duringthefull mooninJ uly 1953, andduringthefull moonperiodsof thefollowing

asyet unanswered.
(11) What wasthefunctional meaningor essenceof acosmicMelanor whichobviouslywasattractedbytheearthly, concentratedOR

Answer (incompleteattheendof 1953): Melanor iscosmicorgoneenergy fromouter spacewhichislackingoxygenandwater, thetwo
most essential constituentsof lifeintherealmof itsbiochemistry. Melanor, ascosmiclifeenergy, showsthequalitiesof hunger for both
oxygenandwater. Theseessentialstolifeit couldonly obtainbyattackingrockoxidesand"reducing" themchemically, inother words,
extractingtheoxygenfromtheoxidecompounds. Melanor could, furthermore, obtainoxygenbyusinguptheavailableoxygeninclosed
rooms. Thisexplainsfullytwobasicsymptomsof DOR sickness: cyanosis, i.e., lack of oxygen, andthecontinuousneedtokeepthe
windowsopenevenat30degreesbelowzero, aswasthecaseatOrgononandinRangeley.
Water couldbeobtainedbyMelanor only throughdehydration, i.e., dryingoutof thesoil of theearthsurface, clouds(drought), the
atmosphereitself, organisms, plant life, etc.*

theresearchwork, andphysical diseaseharassedour community. Theemergency, inautumn1953alreadytwoyearsold, foundits
theoretical -- andtoagreat extent alsoitspractical -- solutionduringthemonthof November 1953, inthefollowingmanner:
Twobooks, bothaboutso-calledFlyingSaucers, reachedOrgononinNovember 1953. Thefirst, "FlyingSaucersHaveLanded" by
LeslieandAdamski; theother, "FlyingSaucersFromOuter Space" byMajor Keyhoe. Thefirst differedgreatlyfromthesecondreport in
styleandapproach, butthefactual observationsweretoagreat extent thesame. Tomethey brought surpriseonly astothegreat number
of saucer sightings, andastotheevasivemanner inwhichthistremendoussubjecthadbeenhandledbysomemechanisticscientists.
I wasnotsurprisedattherealityof visitorsfromouter space, sinceI havenever believedinthetheorieswhichfor nofactual or logical
reasonsattemptedtorestrictLifetothetiny, insignificant planet calledEarth. I hadtakenthemany rumorsaboutflyingsaucersasa
matter of fact.
Oneday, atnoon, inAugust 1952, ontheterraceof myhome, I hadheard, butnotseen, anobject crossingtheskyfromhorizonto
horizoninafewsecondswithaspeedunknownonearth. I knewit wasaspaceship. Therewasnounduesurpriseconnectedwiththis
observation; it wasnotevenwrittendownintheLogbook. Several peoplehadreportedseeing"flyingsaucers" near Orgononduring
1952. However, thefact of visitorsfromouter spacedidnotconnect yet withtheDOR emergencyatOrgonon; notuntil thetwobooks
mentionedaboverevealeddetailedinformationwhichfilledmany gapsinour understandingof thehappeningsatOrgononduringthe
severeemergency. Thesereports, quiteunknowingly, leftlittledoubtastothetypeof energy usedinthesespaceships. All functions
mentionedsofar pointedtowell knownfunctionsof thecosmic, primordial energy.
Letusnow, for our ownuse, changetheaccidental name"FlyingSaucers" intothemoreappropriateone"SpaceShips" of CORE men.
"CORE" hereistoindicatethefact that thesebeingsfromouter spacewereusingthetechniquesof CosmicEngineering(CORE). We
shall nowproceedtoenumeratethereasonswhy it seemscertainthat theCORE menoperatewithCosmicEnergy.
(1) CosmicEnergyisobjectively(oncoloredfilm) andsubjectivelyBlue. Thereportsonthespaceshipswereunanimousinreporting
that themachinesof theCORE menshowedbluishlightsshiningthroughtheopenings, andalsothat thefieldaroundthemachines, tough
attimeschangingcolor withthespeed, wasbluish-greenish. Thereportedchangesof color towhiteandredbelongs, too, intotherealmof
orgonoticphenomena; however, thisfact cannot bediscussedatthispoint intelligentlywithout elaborationof many new, asyet
unpublishedfactsaboutlightinrelationtoOR energy functionsof strongconcentration, andthat thewhiteof sunanddaylight, too,
correspondstocertainhighenergy statesof OR energy.
(2) Thecomparativelysilentmovementsof theCORE machines: Unlesstransmittedbyor transformedintocertainmechanical or
electrical functions, OR functionsusuallyoperatesilently, suchasinthelivingorganismwheretremendousenergiesareatwork with
eachmovement, andyet nonoisewhatever isbeingheard. By way of certainarrangements, however, it ispossibletoobtainsoundfrom
thesesilentmovements, suchasputtingthemembraneof astethoscopeupontheeyeball withclosedeyelid, or touchingthegridwireof a
Geiger counter, highvoltageoff, withthefinger.
(3) TheCORE menoperatetheir machineswiththehelpof orgonoticfieldeffectsof theOR energy inspaceandintheenvelopeof our
planet. SincetheOR energy fieldof theOR envelopeof theearth'sglobealsogovernsthefunctionsof itsgravitation, it isnowonder that
theCORE menareabletomaneuver their spaceshipsinthemanner describedinthetwoabove-mentionedreports. DuringtheOranur
Experiment, observationshavebeensecuredatOrgononwhichmakeit certainthat Oranur changesgravitational fieldfunctionsin
directionandintensity. Nomorecanbesaidaboutthispoint of Cosmicengineering.
(4) ThesevereDOR effectsbeganatOrgononduringthevernal equinoxfor threeyears. Lesliestartshisreport withthe30thof March
1952; myownreport onthe"BlackeningRocks" (OEB V/1,2, 1952). Thisisnomerecoincidence. Themonthof April1952wasreported
intheOranur report just mentionedastheperiodwhenthenauseatingDOR cloudswereobservedfor thefirst timeintheRangeley
region. April 1952is, accordingtoLeslie'sreport, alsothemonthwiththemost frequent sightingsof CORE spaceships. Thenauseating
DOR cloudsmust havesomeconnectionwiththespaceships.

(5) TheCORE spaceshipsareprobablyusingtheOR energy streamsof theuniverseastheir thoroughfares, asit were. Thisisnotcertain
byall means; they may well travel alsoinother fieldsof cosmicenergy, just asautomobilescouldusemeadowstorideonwhenhard
surfaceroadsarealsoavailable. Thesuggestionmentionedaboveiswarrantedbythefollowingfacts:
(a) Theroleof thetruepathof thesun(crossingthecelestial equator) evidently alsoplayedapart inthereoccurrenceof thesharpeningof
theDOR emergencyduringthevernal equinox. Thisassumptionrequiresampleinvestigationandclarification.
(b) Thespaceshipsmost likelyusetheso-called"GalacticOR EnergyStream"; accordingtotheoretical deductions(seeCosmic
Superimposition, 1951) it runsatanangleof 62degreesnorthof theequatorial plane. It cannot beamerecoincidencethat most sightings
point toaSWtoNE directionof themovementof theships, althoughmany other directionsoccur too. Thisassumptionappeared
important enoughtobementioned. It issupportedbythefrequencyof tornadoesthat developedinTexasnear theMexicanGulf, andits
coincidencewithnearlyexactly62degreesnorth-northeastmovementof hurricanesandtornadoesinNorthAmerica(SeeFigure3b; also
diagrampage32in"theBlackeningRocks", OEB V/1,2, 1953). InFebruary-March1954, thisregionwasharassedbyclimatic

(6) Thequestionnecessarilyimposeditself uponaheapof other problemsalreadyathandatOrgonon, what may haveinducedtheCORE
mentoinspectsofrequentlytheearthglobeduringthelast twoor threeyears(Any attempt toanswer thisquestionthoroughlywould
necessarilyhavetotakeintoaccount all "sightings" recordedinasyet undisclosedfiledof theUSGovernment). Oranur seemedto
providethemost satisfyinganswer tothisquestionwhich, of course, requiresstill muchelaboration:
TheCosmicOR Energyfillstheuniverse. Tojudgefromwhat wealreadyknowaboutitscharacteristics, it becomesirritatedandruns
amokif excitedbynuclear energy action. ThishadbeendisclosedbytheOranur Experimentin1951beyondanydoubtwhatsoever.
Fromthisfact followsthelogical conclusionthat thehighlysensitiveOR energy oceanintheuniversehadbeengreatlyirritatedbythe
atomicenergy explosionswhichtookplaceatanacceleratedrateduringthepast 3to4years. SincetheCORE peopleapparently use
CosmicEnergyinpropellingtheir spaceships, they may havedecidedtoinvestigatethesourceandthenatureof thisnewmenacetotheir
existence. Theunmistakableblackeningof therocksonthemoonindicatedtheextent of thisirritation, evenif only inanutshell, asit
were.
Fromthiscausewouldderiveananswer toour questionaboutthefrequent visitsbylivingbeingsfromouter space. Thefact that their
spaceshipsweresightedfor themost part (thoughnotexclusively) over or near atomicenergy plants, seemstofit well withthis
assumption. Toknow, really, wewouldhavetomeet themandaskthempoint blank.
Thus, theOranur effectsof theatomicenergy blasts, reachingfar outintocosmicspace, havebrought downtheCORE men, whoarein
full possessionof theuseof CosmicOR Energy. Sofar, tojudgefromtheavailablereports, theseCORE mencamepeacefully,
investigatingonly. Letushopethat wecanmeet their peacefulnesswithpeacefulnessof our own.
(7) Therecannolonger beanydoubtastothesourceof thesubstancecalledMelanor. It disclosedheretoforeentirelyunknown
characteristics. Melanor stemsfromtheCORE menandtheir spaceships. However, thereareseveral questionswhichmust beanswered
induetimeif themenacewhichtheDOR cloudsaswell asMelanor present for thehumanrace, istobemet. Any definitequestions
themselvesshouldbeformulatednow. Theymay directustowardthetrue, validanswer induetime.
Thesequestionsare:
(A) AretheDOR cloudswhichsotypicallycomeinfromthewestandsouthwest, inother words, onthemaingalactic"highways"
exhaust fumesor similar offal of cosmicOR energy usedbytheCORE menintheir travelsthroughspace?
(B) AretheDOR cloudsonly thecarriersof Melanor whichthesecoremenmay deliberatelypour intoour atmosphere?
(C) If theDOR cloudsareresultsof deliberateactiononthepart of thepeoplefromspace:
(a) Aretheseintentionsbenign?Dothey want tohelpus?Thispossibility cannot beandshouldnotbeexcluded, sinceOranur andDOR
havedisclosedmost fantasticcurativequalities, inspiteof theDOR sickness, or maybejust becauseof theDOR sickness; it representsa
kindof immunizationwhichthepeopleonEarthareboundtogothrough.
(b) Or, aretheseDOR cloudsdesignedtochangeour greenplanet intoawastelandof desert similar tothemoon'ssurface?Thesevere

let usnotfool ourselves: thewar betweenEarthandaninvadingenemy fromspace, usingweaponsstrangetous, isalreadyonandmust
bemet right away.
It isnotrational toassumethat warsarealwaysfought only theway weknowthemwiththeir precedingdiplomaticquibbling, followed
bywar withor without declarationof war withnoisy nag-bangof all kindsof shootingmachineryresultingincrumblingbuildingsand

victimsof war withbullets, onecouldvery well saplifeenergy outof thewar victimswithmachineswhichoperateaccordingtothe

DOR Removal, Cloud-Busting, & Fog-Lifting
(I) The "DOR-Clouds" ~
It hasbecomepossibletoapply theprincipleof theorgonoticpotential tothedissolutionandformationof clouds. Thistechnical
applicationof theorgonoticpotential wasforceduponthisinstitutionduringtheemergencywhichshookOrgononfromaboutMarch21,
1952till thepresent date, May1954. It wasamatter of survival inthisregiontofindaway toremovethe"DOR-clouds" aswecameto
call thenauseatingconcentrationsof DOR over Orgonon.
Letmefirst explainwhat theseDOR-cloudsare, howthey look, what they do, andwhat canbedoneaboutthem. DOR-cloudswere
observedandcomprehendedfor thefirst timeduringtheearlydaysof May1952. Themaincharacteristicsof theseDOR-clouds, asthey
appear atvariousintervalsover Orgonon, cominginmostlyfromthewest, arethefollowing:
(1) "Stillness & "Bleakness" ~
A "stillness" and"bleakness" spreadover thelandscape, rather well delineatedagainstunaffectedsurroundingregions. Thestillnessis
expressedinareal cessationof lifeexpressionsintheatmosphere. Thebirdsstopsinging: thefrogsstopcroaking. Theresnosoundof
lifeanywhere. Thebirdsflylowor hideinthetrees. Animalscrawl over thegroundwithgreatlyreducedmotility. Theleavesof thetrees
andtheneedlesof theevergreenslookvery "sad"; they droop, loseturgor anderectility. Everybit of sparkleor luster disappearsfromthe
lakesandtheair. Thetreeslookblack, asthoughdying. Theimpressionisactually that of blackness, or better, bleakness. It isnot
somethingthat "cameintothelandscape". It is, rather, thesparkleof Lifethat went outof thelandscape.
(2) Vanishing of Luster & Sparkle ~
Thevanishingof luster andsparklefromthesunnylandscapehadbeenindependently confirmedbyseveral observerswhohavegrown
upinfarms. Trees, rocks, telegraphpoles, mountainsides, andhousesappear "black" althoughit isnotreallyblackness. It is, rather, like
theabsenceof light. Totheorgonoticobserver, it appearstobetheresultof thinningor afailingof theOR energy substratumthat usually
luminatesintobrilliantdaylight, withsparkleandluster. Theabsenceof OR luminationwasshownoncolor filmin1953. It shouldbe
carefullynoticedthat DOR-cloudsappear whilethesunkeepsonshining. Thegreencolor of treesandmeadowsdisappearsfromthe
mountainranges. Everythingseemstogoblack or 'dull". Onecannot helpbutfeel thistobeDeath, "BlackDeath", assomecall it. This
bleak blacknesshoversespeciallyover landscapeswithout anyvegetation, andover swampyregions. Swampshaveapeculiar bearingon
DOR effects. Swampsarebasicallyaccumulationsof stagnantwater whichenhancedecayprocessandaretheoppositeof freshrunning
brookor river water whichcounteractsdecay. Theyaredistinguishedbytheabsenceor presence, respectively, of orgonoticmetabolism.
Everythingstill remainstobecarefullyinvestigatedinthisrealm. Weareonly breakingtrail for afirst over-all orientation.
Thelack of luster canbeunderstoodintermsof somereductionof orgonoticpulsationandmetabolisminplantsandanimals. Thisseems
tobeconfirmedbythefact that atthelakesurfacesorgonoticpulsationalsoceases; thewater becomescalmandmotionless.
A DOR-cloudisusuallysurroundedbynormal atmosphericOR activity, suchasbluenessof themountainranges, sparklingof thesunny
atmosphere, greennessof thetrees. Onecannot helpbutfeel that natural cosmicOR energy retractsfromthe"evil", "bleak", "black",
"lifeless" DOR-cloudandletsit pass. Observationsmadeatnight showluminousOR surroundingandfightingthelusterlessDOR-clouds.
Indaytimethemountainsappear black whilelosingthenormal blue-gray orgoneenergy color. Theemotional impressionhereagainis
"sadness". Thecolor of themountainrangesssomehow"dirty" or blackishwithapurpletint. After thepassingof theDOR-cloud, the
intenseblue-gray "haze" returns. Welearnedtorealizeexactlywhennormal OR activityreplacedagainthenauseatingDOR blackness.
(3) Bio-energetic Distress in Human Beings ~
Peoplereact totheDOR-cloudswithrather gravedistress. Manydonotknowor cannot explainwhat happenstothem. Theycall it "heat"
or "someatomdust" or just "badair". Somearebiologicallyinsensitivetoadegreewhichpuzzlestoorgonomist. Thereareotherswho
knowthedeadly qualityof theseclouds, notintellectually, butrather withtheir First, OrgonoticSense. "Thereissomethingwrongwith
theair", onehearsthemsay, or "Somethingisgoingonsomewhere", astatement expressingawarenesstogether withsuspicion. "I cannot

(4) Geiger Counter Reactions ~
Thereactionsof theGeiger counter totheDOR-cloudsdeservesspecial attention. At thispoint, only afewbasicphenomenashouldbe
mentioned:
Duringthepassageof DOR-cloudsover acertainrange, theGM counter will act inpeculiar, extraordinaryways. Whenthesereactions
wereseenfor thefirst timeduringtheearlyspringof 1951, they weredismissedas"only" or "nothingbut" failureof thebatteries. Since
then, welearnedtorespect these"failures" andtoreadtheir meaningtoasufficientdegreetoformreliableopinionsaboutthe
atmosphericOR conditionsbefore, duringandafter thepassageof DOR-clouds. It isadvisabletodistinguishthe"disorders" of theGM
counter asfollows:
(a) "J amming": theportableGM counter (SU-5, Tracerlab) will "race" tothelimit of 100,000cpmor 20mr/hr.
(b) "Failing" or "Fading": Thecountswill dropagainrapidlyuntil they will sink beneaththenormal backgroundcountof 30-40cpm. The
needlewill remainat5or 10cpmor it will point tozerowiththerange100cpmturnedon. Thiswill happeninanextremelyhighly
chargedatmosphere.
(c) "J amming" aswell as"Fading" may occur eachbyitself inavery highOR atmosphere. Sometimesthefadingisprecededby
jamming. Onealsoseesrather frequentlytheGM set inwiththenormal backgroundreactionof 30to50cpm, andthen, after aminuteor
two, startracingtowardthehigher or eventhehighest possiblecounts, whichwouldcausealarminanyatomicplant. Thedetailsof these
functionsareasyet unknown. But it wouldappear reasonabletoassumethat Fading, J ammingandRacingareall variantsof oneandthe
samebasicdisorder: Overchargeof theGM counter tube. Torepeat: Thepointer will notmoveatall: Failing; or it may fail after aninitial
normal count: Fading. It may rushtoabnormallyhighvalues: Racing, instantlyor after abrief periodof normal reaction. It may raceto
thehighest possiblecountandbeyondandthengetstuck therewithor without subsequent fading, i.e., J amming.
Thesedistinctionsarenaturallysubjecttocorrectionsandtofurther detaileddescriptions.
(d) The"Erratic" GM Counter: Duringthepassageof DOR-clouds, onecan, furthermore, observeatypeof behavior ontheportableGM
asif, psychologicallyspeaking, theGM counter hadbecome"nervous" andcouldnotmakeupitsmind, asit were, whether torace, to
fade, or tojam. Insuchcases, oneseestheneedlestartinwiththenormal 30to40cpm; thenit races, sayto500cpm, dropsthereafter
slowly, inthefadingmanner, to100andfurther to70, only tostartracingagainto10,000or even30,000cpm; eventually thisis
followedbystill higher "erratic" oscillationsbackandforthbetween10,000and100,000; it may endinjammingor completefading.
Thesefewdistinctionsinthedisorderlybehavior of theGM portablecounter may suffice. It shouldbenoticed, however, that GM
counterswhichareenclosedinplasticmaterialswill most likelyonly fadeor fail; thisisso, tojudgefromonly onesingleobservation
withanewplastic-coveredGM counter, becauseplasticmaterial absorbsOR avidlywithout reflectingtheOR energy. Thisobservation
requiresfurther elaborationandconfirmation.
Inthebeginning, duringMarchandApril, 1952, wewereunder theimpressionthat theDOR-cloudscominginfromthewest, originated
fromatomicblastsinthewesternUnitedStates. However, it waslater ascertainedthat therewerenoatomicdetonationsinMarch1952.
Thus, theoriginof theDOR-cloudsremainsamystery tothisdate. Theonset of thedisaster atOrgononsoonafter thetornadostruckin

TheDOR emergencyatOrgononworsenedquicklyduringApril. Emotional andphysical distressbecameunbearable, andit wasnowa
matter of survival toremovetheblack DOR accumulationsthat hoveredever morefrequentlyover Orgonon. Aninconspicuous, long-

sufferingfromDOR becameunbearableatOrgononlateinApril, afewmetal pipes, 9to12feet longand1-1/2inchindiameter, were
directedatablack DOR concentrationoverhead, andconnectedthroughBX cablestoadeepwell.
Theeffectwasinstantaneous: Theblack DOR-cloudsbegantoshrink. AndwhenthepipeswerepointedagainsttheOR energy flow, i.e.,

Fromthefirst hesitatingattemptstoendtheemergencyatOrgonon, moresystematicexperimentsinthecreationanddestructionof
clouds, aswell asrain-makingandstoppingof rainbegantodevelopsuccessfullyover several months, till thefirst twoCORE
"Cloudbuster" unitswerefinallyconstructedatPortland, MaineinSeptember-October 1952for morecompleteCORE operations.
Inthefollowingpagesonly thebasicprinciplesof "Cloud-busting" will bepresented. A detailedpresentationof thetechnical aspectswill
followinthebroader context of CosmicOrgoneEngineering(CORE).
(II) The Principles of "Cloud-Busting" ~
(1) "Cloudbusting" ~
Theterm"Cloudbusting" asusedinthispaper, shall denoteall engineeringtechniqueswhichdeal withthedestructionaswell asthe
formationof cloudsof water vapor intheatmosphereandof orgoneenergy accumulationsof all kindsincludinggravity; briefly, withall
phenomenawhicharerelatedtoor derivefromatmosphericchangesof climateincludingweather, humidity, amount of rainfall per unit
of time, storms, hurricanes, DOR-clouds, Oranur functionsintheatmosphere, atmosphericOR energy changesof all kinds, theoriginof
desertsaswell asof areasof greenvegetation, andall similar functionswhichdependonthepresenceor absence, onthescarcityor
plentifulnessof OR energy, oxygen, water vapor, rain, sunandwindandtheir interaction.
(2) Technological Use of the "Orgonomic Potential" ~
The"OrgonomicPotential" denotesall functionsinnaturewhichdependontheflowof cosmicenergy, or potential, fromLowtoHighor
fromWeaker toStronger Systems. Thustheorgonomicpotential isthebasisof andfunctionscontrarytothemechanical potential, heat,
electromagneticenergy, mechanical potential of position, etc. Theorgonomicpotential ismost clearly expressedinthemaintenancein
most animalsonthisplanet of atemperaturehigher thanthat of theenvironment, andinthefunctionof gravitational attraction. Inboth
cases, thestronger energy systemdrawsenergy fromor attractsaweaker systemnearby; inbothcasesthepotential isdirectedfromlow
tohigh, or fromweak tostrong. Gravitationobviouslyfunctionsonthisbasis.
Thetechniqueof cloud-bustingistoavery largeextent, if notwholly, basedonthetechnological useof theorgonomicpotential asit
governstheOR energy functionsof theatmosphere.
Thetechnological useof theorgonomicpotential canbedivided, basically, intotwomajor groups:
(A) Increaseof theOR potential: InthiscaseweconcentrateOR energy andbuildupasteeper or stronger OR potential. Thiswill have
entirelydifferent effectsthan
(B) Decreaseof theOR potential: Inthiscasewedisperseor dissipateOR energy; welower thepotential differenceandcreatea
tendencytowardmoreor lesequal distributionof theOR energy intheatmosphericOR energy envelopeof theplanet. Weact inthe
directionof themechanical potential.
Rainclouds, thunder clouds, hurricanesandtornadoesare, seenfromtheviewpoint of orgonomy, different expressionof basicallyone
andthesamefunction, i.e., combinationsof concentratedOR energy streamsandwater vapors. Manyconditionsdependontheintensity,
direction, locationandsimilar conditionsrelatedtothecombinationof water andOR energy; most of theseconditionsstill await detailed
study andlogical comprehension.
However, thetwobasicprinciplesof cloudbusting, increaseanddecreaseof theOR potential, sufficeatthemomenttomaketheir
technological usecomprehensible.
If wewishtodestroycloudswemust usetheorgonomicpotential insuchamanner that thepotential betweencloudsandtheir immediate
environment increases.
If wewishtocreatecloudsor toincreasethepower of existingclouds, wemust usetheOR potential insuchamanner that thepotential
betweencloudsandtheir immediateenvironment increases.
Inorder toexecutethesetwobasicprinciplesinasatisfactorymanner, wemust, logically, constructanduseadevicewhichiscapableof
addingOR energy totheatmosphericOR energy envelope; or, wemust constructadevicewhichwill drawenergy fromtheOR envelope
insuchamanner that theaffectedregionlosescertainamountsof energy toother regions, thuschangingtheatmosphericenergy
conditions.
Sinceatpresent, addingenergy totheatmosphereisnotyet possible, wemust usetheother principle, that of drawingenergy fromthe
atmosphere.
(3) Drawing Off Atmospheric OR Energy ~
Inorder todrawoff atmosphericOR energy, wemust accomplishtwotasks: (a) wemust useadevicewhichdrawsOR energy; (b) we
must knowintowhat placetodrawthisenergy.
Thisisaccomplishedbychanging, basically, theprincipleof thefunctioningof theLightningRod:
Seite 16 Wilhelm Reich: CORE (Cosmic Orgone Engineering) ~OROP Desert, Part 1: Space Ships, DOR & Drought (1954)

Thelightningrod, too, functionsaccordingtoOR energy principles, since"lightning" isatmosphericOR energy dischargeinavery
narrowspace. Thepointedrod, reachingintotheatmosphere, attractsthelightningdischargeandconductsit throughheavywiresintothe
ground. Thislightningrodsystemfunctionsaccordingtoorgonomic, andnotaccordingtoelectrical principles: Inthelightningrod
system, theatmosphericchargeisdrawnfromtheatmospheretowardthepoint of therodandfurther towardtheearth'scrust. It is, thus,
theorgonomicpotential fromweak tostrongwhichisoperativealsointhecaseof thelightningrod. If theelectrical potential fromhigh
tolowwereoperativeinthelightningrodsystem, thedirectionof flowwouldnecessarilybethereverse, fromtheearth'scrust towardthe
atmosphere; theenergy wouldstreamoff andawayfromthepoint of thelightningrod.*

Cloudbustingoperatesinagreementwiththefunctioningof thelightningrod, only if weputbothfunctions, cloudbustingandlightning
rod, onthecommonfunctional basisof theOR potential.
Cloudbustingdeviatesfromthelightningrodprincipleinfour ways: (1) Itspurposeisnottodrawandtogroundboltsof lightning, butto
drawOR energy chargesoutof atmosphereandclouds. Indoingso, it dealswiththesamekindof forceasinthelightning, withone
important difference: Thecloud-buster drawsthechargesslowly, insmall amountsatatime, dispersed, asit were, intimeaswell asin
concentration, andnotintheformof suddenlightning. It doesnobyway (2) of long, hollowpipes, andnotof solidsteel rods.
Thepipes, anynumber of them, andanylengthbeyondaminimumof about4metersor 12feet usedinour first cloud-busting
experiments, havethefunction(3) of triggeringtheatmosphericOR energy flowintocertaindirections. Thefunctionof thepipesis
fulfilledwiththistriggeringof directional flow. OncetheOR energy flowisdirectedatwill, it continuestoflowinthesamedirection,
until another natural or artificial stimuluschangesit again. Thelightningrod, ontheother hand, isnotintendedtodirectOR energy flow.
It only functionsasaconductor towardthegroundincaseconcentratedOR energy discharge, i.e., lightning, happenstocomeitsway.
Figure 4: Cloudbusting (Destruction of Clouds through Decrease of OR Potential) ~
(4) TheOR chargesaredrawn(notintothegroundbut) intowater, preferablyintoflowingwater of brooks, flowinglakesandrivers. We
drawintowater sincetheattractionisgreater betweenwater andOR energy thanbetweenother elementsandOR energy. Water notonly
attractsOR speedilybutit alsoholdsit, asespeciallyinclouds. Wethushavetheabovepictureof theprocessof cloudbusting.
Thissketchdepictstheprincipleof clouddestructiononly. It doesnotsufficetoenablethetechniciantodestroyall existent typesof
clouds. Thisremainsatask of futureexperimentationincosmicengineering, tobesolvedinmany ways, invariousregionsof theglobe,
withvariousmodelsof cloud-busters(variousastonumber, lengthandwidthof pipes, directionof draw, sizeof clouds, maturityof our
experience, etc.). Theprinciple, however, may bedescribedasbasicallycomplete:
Onedissipatescloudsof water vapor bywithdrawing, accordingtotheorgonomicpotential, atmospheric(cosmic) OR energy fromthe
center of thecloud. Thisweakensthecohesivepower of thecloud: therewill belessenergy tocarrythewater vapors, andtheclouds
necessarilymust dissipate. Theorgonomicpotential betweencloudanditsenvironment islowered.

The "Spiral Draw" in Fog-Lifting ~
Thetask of fog-liftingisaccomplishedbyway of theso-called"Spiral Draw". Inorder tounderstanditsfunctioning, oneshouldreturnto
thebasicprinciplesonwhichcloud-bustingrestsasatotal operation. Torepeat:
TheOR energy envelopeof theearthplanet moves, under normal conditions, fromthewesttowardtheeast, inaccordancewiththe
directionof thedailyrotationof theglobe, faster thanthesurfaceof theearth. Accordingly, anyoperationwhichisintendedtobringin
freshOR energy supply fromthewest, suchasisthecaseinDR removal, will usethewesttoeast directionof themovementof theOR

Fog-liftingrequiresacombinationof, andaslightchangein, boththeseprinciples. Fog-liftingwouldleadtoraininstead, if wewere
drawinginoneor another directiononly. If fogcoverslargeareas, it isdoubtful that drawingfromthewestalonewouldaccomplish
anything. Thetechnological procedureisthis:
Densefogover largeareasisusuallyevenly distributed. Inworkingwithfoggyconditions, onehastheimpression(animpressiononly)
that it isexactlytheevennessanduniformityof thefogbankwhichconstitutesitscohesionandtenacity inresistinglifting. Thereareno
potential differences; it isastaticphysical state. Thisassumptionisborneoutbytheoperation:
Tobreakupfogor evendrizzlingrainonemust disturbtheevennessof thedistribution, inother words, theabsenceof potential
differences. Onemust createsuchpotential differences. Thisisaccomplishedbytheso-called"Spiral, IntermittentDraw". One"drills
holes", asit were, intothefoggybankbyvery brief draws(only afewsecondseach) atvariouspointsof thesky. Experiencessofar teach
that theso-calledspiral drawoperatesbest inthefollowingmanner:
(1) Drill aholeintothezenithaboveyoufor 15to45seconds.
(2) Spiral very slowly towardthehorizon, inanintermittentmotion, i.e., withbrief stops, 2to5secondseach, asyouspiral theskyform
thezenithdowntowardthehorizon. Seenfromthegroundtowardthezenith, thetotal spiral drawlookssomewhat likethis:
Thespiral turnsmay bedrawnatanydistancefromeachother. Between4to8turnswill sufficeinmost situations.
After havingaccomplishedthespiral draw, it isnecessarytotrigger, push-like, thewesttoeast directionof theOR flowof theplanetary
envelope. Thiswesttoeast triggeringshouldnotlast longer thanabouthalf aminute, moreor less, dependent onthestillnessof theOR
atmosphere. Tooshort atriggeringpushwesttoeast wouldnotsufficetoacceleratethemovement; toolongadrawfromthewesteasily
may brigaboutsevererainformtheeast, or asquall.
Therefore, thetrigger pushwesttoeast, after thespiral drawhasbeendone, shouldbehandledwithgreat careandbebasedonmuch
practical experienceaccordingtotheregion, theweather, andsimilar circumstances.
Sinceall OR operationsarebasicallyrestingonfunctional, andnotonmechanisticprinciples, they cannot berigidly executed.
Thetotal draw, per singledrawoperation, wasatOrgonon, approximately5minutes. Withheavyfog, it may benecessarytoexecutew,
4or moresingledrawstoachieveresults. A singledrawmay breakthefogbankandlet thesuncomeshiningthrough, butthefogmay
closeinagainandnotbudgefinallyuntil after the4thor 5thdraw.
Theliftingof fogcaneasilybelearnedandoperatedbyanyonewhoseorgonoticsenseisunimpairedandwhohassomeknowledgeof
natural weather functions. It isalsoobviousthat thecloudbuster operationscannot beexecutedonthebasisof theclassical, thermical
assumptionsabouttheoriginof thevariousformsof weather. Therelationshipof hotandcoldair massesmust, quitelogically, be
dependent uponandsecondarytomorebasic, energeticfunctionsof theOrgoneenvelope. TheCloudbuster operationrest onthefirm

Wemust ask: What makestheatmospheremove? And: What changestheamount of moistureandprecipitation?Theydonotmoveand

belowshowsthat thereversed, east towestflowof OR energy rebounds, asit were, fromtheeasternslopesof theRockyMountains,
eastwardagain. It carriesitsgreat moisturecontentsfirst westward, notreachingintothedesert over themountainpeaks, andthen
reversesitscoursebackeastwardtowardtheAtlanticOcean. Thus, ahighconcentrationof moistureresultswhichfeedstheagricultural
richesof theGreatPlainstothepoint of flooddisasters. Thetornadoeswhichhappenheresofrequentlyrequirestill another point of view
for their comprehension.
Fromtheorgonoticconsiderationsof thepast fewpagesfollowlogicallytheconclusion:
If it werepossibletodrawOR energy andmoistureover theSierrasintothedesert andfromhereover theRockyMountains, thedesert
regionof theUSA couldbechangedintofruit-growingcountry.
A challengingtask indeed! Andone, too, whichwouldserveasafirst test inthetrainingfor far greater taskssuchasfructificationof
other desert lands, India, Sahara, theNear East.

(1) Understanding Drought Clouds ~
Breakingof drought bymeansof changesinducedinthevariouspotentialsof theatmosphericOR energy aimsatraintofall incertain
areas. Thisisavery youngart indeed, notmorethanthreeyearsold. Still, theexperiencesmadeduringthesethreeyears(1952-54) were
richinyieldingnewfacts; they openupabirds-eyeviewonCosmicOR Engineering(CORE) inunderstandingsomeof thebasic
mechanismsof Drought, RainmakingandDesert development. Themost important vehicleof gettingaheadinthisaswell asinanyother
fieldof humanknowledgeisknowingthereasonsfor failureor success. Insomecasesit isdifficulttoconvincethestudent or young
operator that one'smistakesarethetruesignpostsof learninghowtoadvance.
Thefollowingdiscussionisdesignedtohelpthestudent of CosmicEngineeringtobecomeconsciousof what heisdoingandwhy. There
isnothingmoredestructivetoone'sownlearninganprofessional perfectionthanplayingaroundwithcloudbustingonly inorder toenjoy
thefeelingof one'sgreat power over cosmicforces. It istrue, onecaninducegravechangesinthecosmicOR energy ocean. Thisisas
easy asspeakingintoamicrophoneinLosAngelesandbeinginstantlyheardinNewYork. Thisaccomplishmenthowever isduetothe
great irritabilityandsensitivityof thecosmicOR energy ocean, andnottothegreatnessof thespeaker. InCloudbusting, thedangersare
muchgraver, indeed, thaninradiospeeches. Twisters, suddenandunexpectedchangesinwinddirection, severegustsandsimilar effects
aretobeexpectedinthemost carefullyexecutedoperations. TheCORE effectscanreachvery far, to300milesandmorewithone
cloudbuster alone. It all dependsonknowingwhat oneisdoingandwhy. Inthebeginning, great careinnotover-reachingthesafelimit
isof crucial importance. Whoever knowsthedynamicsof theOR energy will notfail tobeover-cautiousrather than"daring". Onecan
easilyrecognizetheignoramusinhisplayful, senselessoverdoing, showingoff, "demonstrating" cloudbusting. Theeffectsaresoeasily
obtainedthat wemust guardagainstthismenacefromthevery beginning.
Theshape, character andfunctioningof drought cloudsbecameclear duringthefirst weeksof thegraveDOR emergencyinApril and
may 1952. Thishappenedinthefollowingmanner:
Cloudswhichdriftedinfromthewestchangedtheir shapeandcolor. Cominginwhiteor gray-white, they hadover Orgononasteel-gray,
"dirty"-lookingappearance. Theyalsolost their typical shapecharacterizedbyagreat varietyof forms: they becamemechanically
quadrangular, sharp-edged, asit were. Furthermore, they seemedtohover over theObservatorybuildingfor hoursonend, notmoving
onwardtowardtheeast. Thus, after several weeksof careful observation, it becamepossibletorecognizethesecloudsbytheir
mechanical edginess, their dirty, steel-gray color andtheir hoveringover Orgonon. Inthebeginning, it wasincomprehensiblewhat it was
that madethesecloudschangetheir shape. Later on, whenthethunder-stormseasonwasathand, another observationbrought some
understandingtothesefunctions; they werefinallycomprehendedin1953.
Duringthesummer of 1952, notasinglethundercloudpassedover Orgonon. Therewasnothunderstormor lightningover theRangeley
region. All "thunderheads" whichcameinfromthewesteither partedtheir way tonorthandsouthof Orgonon, several milesapart, or
they dissolvedintofuzzy-looking, incoherentshred-likepiecesof formerlyimpressive, heavyanddark-bluethunderheads. Peoplein
Rangeley observedthisstrangephenomenonall throughthesummer of 1952until lateautumn. Onlyafewthunderstormspassedinthe
vicinityof Orgononin1953; nonepasseddirectlyoverhead.
Thecloudsdispersedeasily; they didnotseemtobeabletoholdtogether (seeFigure14). Thethin, shreddy pieceswere, aswelearned
later, of thesamekindastruedrought clouds. Fromthenonwardit waseasy topredictreductioninrainfall andlater alsodrought. To
diagnosedrought inadvance, however, didnotdevelopfurther during1952, until lateinAugust, after several attemptswiththe
cloudbuster failedtocreatecloudsor tomakeexistent cloudsgrowheavywithwater vapor.

(2) First Breaking of Drought ~
Not until thecauseof thedissipationof cloudsandtheir droughtyappearancewerecomprehended, didproducingraininapredictable

first of suchkindinthehistoryof natural science. Onthat August 1and2, 1952, withthehelpof twooperators, Mr ThomasRossandMr

(3) Rainmaking ~
Obviously, rainmakingdependsonthepossibilitiesathandtoreversethefunctional conditionsthat leadtothedrought. Theseconditions
aretypical for every kindof drought (DOR clouds, fuzzy clouds, strongdehydrationof air andsoil, prevalentevendissipationand
expansiveforceof OR); therearealsospecial conditions, specificfor thedrought areainquestion. It is, for instance, mucheasier tobreak

Thefunctionsoppositeof drought that leadtorainarethefollowing:
(1) Strengtheningof thecohesivefunctionof existent clouds.
(2) Creationof cloudsincloudless, droughtyskies.
(3) Preventionof dissipationof newlycreatedclouds.
(4) DirectingtheOR energy streaminsuchamanner that thecloudsgrowanduniteintoever greater nits.
(5) Drawinginmoisturefromoceans.
(6) RepeatingCORE operationsinsuchamanner andasoftenasnecessary, toforcethecloudstogrowuntil finallythey pour outtheir
water content, duetoprevalenceof water content over carryingOR energy.
(7) Guardingagainstoverdoing, sothat nomajor disaster may takeplaceinconsequenceof OROP rain.
Therearemany morepointstobementioned. However, it isnecessaryfirst togetthoroughlyacquaintedwiththeabove-mentionedbasic

OROP Ellsworth (July 5-6, 1953)
Thisoperationwasbasedonthealreadywell-knownfact that theatmosphericOR energy flowsbasicallyfromwesttoeast, inaccordance
with, butfaster thantherateof rotationof theglobe. If oneintendstocauseraintofall inacertainregionwithprevalentwesttoeast flow
of energy, onemust drawpredominantlyagainstthisdirection, that isfromeast towest. Intihsmanner, onecausesareversal of theOR

thewesttoeast flowof OR energy, thuscomingfromthewest.*
(*Indifferent regionsof theglobeconditionsmay differ considerablyfromthoseheredescribed. Therefore, specificstudy will be

Therewill alwaysbea"weather front" tothewestof theplaceof draw. Raincannot comeoutof nothingandfromnowhere, asit were.
Thisanswersoneargumentwhichwasraisedagainstour Ellsworthsuccess: "Theresultof OROP Ellsworthisdoubtful sinceafront of

shouldit come?Thefactsthat putthepositiveresultsof theEllsworthoperationbeyonddoubtwerethese:
(1) TheNewEnglanddrought wassevere; it hadlastedseveral weeksalready, withnocloudsandnorainover awideareainthenorthern

thedayprecedingthemainOROP atEllsworthonJ uly 5, aconcentrationandcondensationwithhighpotential hadbeenaccomplished
about200milestothewestof Orgonon, or roughly360to400milesfromEllsworth. Thewesternweather front, too, wasunpredictedby
theUSWeather Bureaufor J uly 5and6; it knewnothingabouttheOROP atOrgonon.

(1) OROP Orgonon Out of Control (July 23, 1953) ~
After thesuccessful, theoreticallylucidOROP Ellsworth, experimentationOROP Desert continuedatOrgonon. OnJ uly 17, only one
week after thedrought hadbeenbroken, anewdrought developedinNewEngland. Inother regionsof theUSA theseveredrought had

ThedilemmaatOrgononwasgrave. Therewasonly thechoicebetweenlettingthedrought goonwithout anycounter measures, or to

butalsowithresponsibilityfor possiblebreakingof thedrought. Thedilemmawasthemoregravesinceattheendof J uly oneoperation
drought went outof control intheStateof NewYork. Suchinfact waslearnedfromthesefailuresandfromthelossof control over a
rainstorm. Thedetailsof thehappeningsinthesecondhalf of themonthof J uly 1953werethese:
"Weatherbee" of Boston, reportingonweather forecastsatBostonstationWBZ, visitedOrgonononAugust 7, 1953. Beforethisvisithe
hadbeenintouchwithOrgononsincethereport onOROP EllsworthhadappearedintheBangor Daily News. "Weatherbee" had
mentionedtheoperationatOrgononontheBostonradio. Later on, heusedfromtimetotimeto"askfor rain", asit were. OnlyOrgonon
couldbemeant, sincenooneelse, toour knowledge, except theorgoneenergy oceanitself, couldhavebeenmeant.
OnTuesday, J uly 14, 1953, Boston"requested" "morerain";; "Not enoughrainhasfallen", morerainisneededfor NewEngland. I
decidedtodrawthefollowingdayfor raintowardthesouthandsouthwest, that istowardBostonandNewYork. I wasinterestedtolearn
whether directingrainfromOrgonontoplaces250to500milesawayinawell-reasonedmanner wouldbepossible. Therefore, I
followedthehint givenbytheBostonradio; I drewonJ uly 15, NWtoSE from18to19hours. Norainensued. Theskiesremained
droughtyatOrgononandweredroughtyagainalsoattheBar Harbor coast. I didnotunderstandwhy I hadfailed. But I knewthat I had
failed, whichisessential, too.
I drewoncemoretowardthesouthandwestonJ uly 17, andtwicetowardSWandW, that istowardtheStateof NewYork, onJ uly 18, a
Saturday. OnthisdayI achievedcloudformationinaformerlycloudless, droughtysky. Evensmaller cloudsgrewintohugemasses
whenI drewfromtheclosevicinityof thealreadyexistingclouds. However, after afewhours, inspiteof onehour and50minutesdraw
andoneadditional drawof 45minutes, thecloudsfailedtoholdtogether. Theydissipatedagainandagain, andadroughtyskywasonce

OnSunday, J uly 19, around10a.m., aheavyhazewasseentothewest. SlowlycloudsdevelopedtotheWandSW. Slowlyclouds

Onespecial observationworriedmegreatly:
Usuallywhenonedrawsfor rainfromthewestor NW, theOR energy streamreversesitsdirectiontoE toW; thisisasit shouldbe.
However, thistime, whenfour OROPS hadfailedtobringrain, theE toWOR streamcontinuedfor daysonend, visibleinthewind

reader may remember, isthetechnical termfor thebackflowof OR energy WtoE after aprolongedE toWflow, thus:

(1) It isobviousnowthat OROP Desert canbeeffectiveatlongdistances. Thisisso, becausetheOR energy oceanpresentsavery
sensitive, easilyirritablecontinuumof energy. But howisonetoconcentrateanOROP uponasingle, distant, circumscribedobject, town
or countryside?
(2) Couldthemainthoroughfaresof thecosmicenergy, theequatorial andthegalacticOR energy stream, asoutlinedtheoreticallyin
"CosmicSuperimposition", beusedtechnologically I willful operations?ArethesemainOR energy streamsreal andusable?
Wearisometheseproblemswere, indeed, butinnoway inaccessibletoanexperimental answer. Bothquestionswere, atleastinacrude

OROP Children's Parade (August 8-9, 1953)
It wasagreat pleasure, indeed, tohelpthe"Doc" Grant"Children'sparade" onAugust 9, 1953bykeepingrainfromfallingover the
Rangeley region. Thetask of preventingrainfromfallingwasnew, achallengetoour youngtechnologyof CosmicOR Engineering.
Mr Grantof Rangeley, theoriginator of theideaof "Children'sParade", hadthankedmeafewdaysearlier for havingkeptthwweather
niceover Rangeley onJ uly 14, 1953. HehadalsoreadaclippingfromtheBangor Daily NewsabouttheEllsworthOROP success.
I toldMr Grantbyphone, andconfirmedbyletter, thefollowing:
(1) Theattempt tokeepSunday, August 6, 1953freeof rainwastoberegardedonly asanother experiment inweather control, notasan
obligation.
(2) Any mystical expectationswouldbedangerousandshouldbekeptout.
(3) It wouldbethefirst attempt atpreventingrainfromfallingataspecificdateinaspecificregion.
(4) Orgononwill trytokeepSunday, August 9freefromrain.
(5) Rainwill befallingafter theparadeisover, if possibleSundayduringthenight.
ThedaybeforetheChildren'sParadewastotakeplace, theweather didnotlookpromisingatall. ThewindcameasabreezefromtheE,
inour regionacertainindicationof rainfall. Theclouds, too, looked"rainy". It was, atfirst, notquiteclear howtocounteractthe
tendencytorain. TheideacamenaturallytocounteractbydrawingfromtheW. ThiscouldpossiblyreversetheE toWflow. Also, it
wouldappear reasonabletoclear thezenithof theregionbybrief, onetotwominuteclearingdraws, ashadbeendonethepreviouswinter
todispersefog.
Prolongeddrawingwastobeavoided, sincedrawingover 4to5minuteswouldcertainly, accordingtoformer experiences, resultin
heavyrain. ThemainOROP toclear theskyover Orgonon, however, shouldbeperformedonSundaymorning, thedayof thepanned
parade.
At 7:30onSunday, theskieslookedbad, heavilycloudedover. I begantoclear thesky. At 10:30amtheskyover Orgononwasstill
overcast. However, at11:15theskywasclear of cloudswiththesunshining.
This, however, wasonly apart of thejobtobedone. Thenexttask wastokeeptheregionof thezenithfromcloudingover again. This
task wasthemoredifficulttofulfill, sincethecloudscameinstronglyfromthewesternhorizon. Also, they partedwhileapproaching
OrgononandclosedranksagainatSaddleback MountaintotheE of Rangeley. TheproblemwashowtothecloudspartingtotheWof
Rangeley andtheskyclear until lateafternoon.
I triedtoaccomplishthisintwoways:
(1) By intermittent, brief drawsof oneor twominuteseachwhenever thecloudsoverheadshowedthetendencytocloseinover the
region.
(2) By keepingonly onedrawpipeopenfor oneor twominutes, very cautiouslyonly insmall steps, pointingwestward, some15degrees
abovehorizon. Thismethodwasnew, never triedbefore. It promisedandfulfilledthetask of drawingoff just enoughOR energy from
theoncomingcloudstokeeptheminastateof dissipation, without however riskingrainfall. Fromthissecondmethodgrewaspecial
branchof OROP Desert: Continuousdrawingoff of DOR without theriskingof rain.
Thesuccessof OROP Children'sparadewasperfect. At 5:35pm, theparadeswereover, Not asingledropof rainfell over theRangeley
region. Thiswasthemoreastounding, sinceit hadrained, asI learnedmuchlater, all aroundOrgononandRangeley that afternoon. I had
keptupOROP-No-Rainall throughtheparade. Whenit wasover, I drewfor rain. Reversingthedirectionof thedrawtoE toW, I drew
first 10minutesandthenagain20minutestoenhancethealreadyexistingtendencytowardrainwhichhadbeeninterruptedbyOROP-
No-Rain.

LessonsderivedfromOROP Rangeley of August 8-9, 1953:
(1) It ispossibletoprevent theformationof cloudsandthefallingof rain.
(2) It ispossibletodirectthedriftof cloudsinadesireddirection.
(3) It ispossibletoprevent rainandtodissipateraincloudsbydrawingfromthedirectionof theoncomingclouds.
(4) Brief withdrawalsof OR energy fromheavycloudslower thepotential differencesinthecloudy skiesandthusequalizedistribution
of atmosphericOR energy. Thiscounteractsthetendencyfor rainfall.
(5) Toprevent rainonemust notdrawfromtheregionoppositetothenormal OR flow.
(6) Putupa"barrier" totheoncomingcloudbanksome2to4milesaheadof theplacewhichshouldbekeptrain-free.
(7) UsetheOR "Aftereffect" (thetendencyof theOR energy tomaintainspontaneously acertainartificiallyinducedstatus). Thisisa
fact, asyet unexplainable.
Oranur Weather Control hadgainedanother important stretchof technical skills. It wassoontobetestedonalarger scale.

OROP Boston (September 2, 1953)
OROP "Children'sParade" hadnotonly increasedour knowledgeof CosmicEngineering, It hadalsoincreasedtheconflict andpressure
regardingwhat couldbedonetohelpasufferingnation.
ThedayI hadtriedsuccessfullytokeeprainoutfromtheRangeley region, I spoketoour operator atOrgonon, Mr Ross. Heconfessedto

thesteamengineer whodirectsthespeedof theflowof steamwithasinglelever. Heis, however, nottheforceitself that drivesthetrain.
Heisonly itstrustee. Andtrusteesmust befullyconsciousof their responsibilities, never forgettingwhat powerful forcesareentrustedto

I feltclearly thegreat power inmyhandsduringtheseoperations: however, havingbecomeusedfor 3decadestohandlehighly

OROP Galactic Stream (Hancock, October 22, 1953)
(1) The Galactic OR Stream is Real ~
In1950(publishedinCosmicSuperimposition, 1951) I havepostulatedtheexistenceof the"GalacticOR EnergyStream" whichrunsat
anangleof 62N-NE off theEquatorial OR Stream. OROP Hancock wasdesignedtotest thispostulateastoitsvalidity.
TheproblemsregardingOranur Weather Control Operationsweremany andgrave. Amongtheseproblemstworequiredspeedy solution
if thenewdrought whichwastobeexpectedfor thesummer of 1954wastobemet successfullyintime.
(1) CanOranur Weather Control Operationsbetaught tointelligent engineers?Andif so, how?
(2) Istheso-called"Galactic" OR energy stream(SWtoNE) real?Couldit beusedinOROP Desert?
Inpreparationof thesolutiontothesetwoquestions, amobilecloudbuster unit wastransferredonSeptember 19, 1953toHancock,
Maine. Thestudent operator withsometrainingwasinstructednotoundertakeanymajor operationswithout special permissionand
directionbytheOrgoneInstitute. Hewas, however, permittedtodrawof DOR-cloudsfromtheregiontowardtheoceanasoftenas
necessary. Theeffectof theseDOR removal operationsuponthehealthof thepopulationwastobestudiedandtobereportedbyayoung
local physician.
OnOctober 3, theoperator atHancock wasdirectedtodrawfor rain. Hefaileduponthefirst attempt. Later I supportedhisoperation
fromOrgonon, andthistimehesucceededinobtainingrainfall asintended. Thefollowingreport speaksfor itself. It isimportant inthese
functional operationstoteachthestudent operator torecognizehismistakes. Heshouldbeabletoseeinhismistakesmajor signpostsfor

It may beof interest for futuretrainingof CORE engineerstogivesomeattentiontothisfirst report of atyroincosmicengineering:
"Thefollowingismyunderstandingof why theOROP of October 2and4wassuccessful andismyexplanationof howour resultscame
about:
"Operatinguponyour discoveryof last summer of predominantlydrawingfromthedirectionoppositetothat whereyouwant therainto
go, I assumethat thedrawingfromtheWatRangeley onOctober 3wasdonebecauseyouwantedtherainandweather togoeastward.
By drawingfromtheWyouwouldincreasethepotential totheE of thedrawing. Inaddition, wouldincreasetheE toWflowof the
OrgoneEnergystream.
"Your instructionsfor metodrawfromtheE onthefollowingday, October 4, wasfor thepurposeof drawingmoistureoff fromthe
ocean. Thiswouldalsoincreasethepotential totheWof thisdrawingsite, or inthesameareaaffectedbytheRangeley drawingtotheW.
Inaddition, thedrawingheretotheE wouldgettherain&weather togototheW; it wouldtendtoreversetheeastwardflowor swingof
theorgonestreamtriggeredbyyour drawingof thepreviousday, andinitiateawestwardflowof theorgonestream. Thiswestwardflow,
bringingwithit moisturefromtheocean, wouldveer towardtheS, followingthenatural pathof theprevailingwet weather inthisregion
whenit comesfromtheE. Inother words, insteadof goingstraight fromtheE toW, therainwouldgosouthwardtowardBoston, andwe
wouldhavewhat isknowninthisregionasa"northeaster". Nowwhy thisweathe4r fromtheE wouldtendnaturallytowardtheSW, I do
notknow. I suspect that thisisrelatedtothedirectionof flowof thegalacticorgoneenergy streammentionedinformer discussions.
"Oneadditional factor whichmay havehadabearingonthisOROP isthefact that at6amMonday, October 5,I drewfromthehorizonto
theN for 15minutes. I didthisbecauseof thefollowing: At 5amtheskywascoveredbyathickcloudbankwiththeexceptionof asmall

coveredtheskysincethepreviousafternoon. ThewindwasfromtheNE. ThecloudbankwasmovingE andtheclear areawasgradually
gettinglarger. After muchhesitation, I drewfromthisclear areatowardsthehorizonfromtheN for 15minutes. Mypurposewasto
decreasethepotential inthisclear area, thusincreasingthepotential intheareaof thecloudbankupontheassumptionthat thecloud
bankwouldgrowheavier andperhapshalt itsdrifttotheE. I committedamistakehere. Myerror wasinnotconsideringtheoperationas
awhole, inthinkingonly of thetemporarygrowthof thecloudbankandinnotconsideringthedirectional factor. Thedrawingitself may
havebeenhelpful towardstriggeringtheweather that camelater inthemorningfromtheNE; myerror wasinmyreasonfor doingit.
"Until I startedwritingthispaper I consideredthisdrawingfromtheN wasunimportant. NowI realizethat whenoneworksthuswiththe
cosmicorgoneenergy, thereisnothingthat isunimportant. PerhapsthisdrawingfromtheN wasresponsiblefor thecoldandsnowthat

Thisbringsusbacktothestartingpointsof thisreport: theproblemof spaceshipsandspaceproblems.
It isimpossibletotell inafewpagesthewholestoryof orgonomicresearchintherealmof cosmicfunctioning. Instead, I shall tell howI
becameinterestedinthe"FlyingSaucer" problem.
Tentofourteenyearsago, 1940to1944, soonafter I haddiscoveredtheOR energy intheatmosphere, thecosmicimplicationsgradually
becameevident. Physical pendulumexperiments(1944) led--- withthetruespontaneouslogicof objectivefunctions--- toward
orgonometricequationsconcerningnumerical relationsinthecosmicOR functions. Theresultwasapendulumequation:
Andamass-freeenergy equation:
A manuscript inGermanwaswritteninanattempt towork outdetails. Theequationandthemanuscript together withsomechartswere
putawayintothearchives. Thereasonwasthis: I didnotbelievethemathematical equationstobeworthpublishingunlessthey were
confirmedbyphysical observationsandexperiments. I hadacquiredthisattitudewhenI discoveredthephysical phenomenaof
atmosphericandcosmicenergy whichfillstheuniverse; thenI comparedmyfactual observationswiththepurelyabstract, mathematical
formulationswhichhademptiedspace, declaredthe"ether" tobenonexistent and--- asamakeshift onanarrowfactual basis--- notonly
hadlockedfurther factual physical research, butalsostoodintheway of thetruecomprehensionof thecosmicprimordial energy.
Thecrucial importanceof thesubjectfor theunderstandingof "VisitorsfromOuter Space" may excusemyblunt language.
Thus, I waitedmany yearsfor further factual developments. Thesedevelopmentsbegantoshowupwhen, after apauseof threeyears
(1944-1947), I startedmywork onvacua("Vacor") asdescribedintheOranur Experiment. TheOR energy motor, too, wastheninthe
processof beingworkedout. It waspublishedinthefirst number of theOEB in1949.
I knewof theexistenceof a"saucer" problemaround1950. But I hadnever paidmuchattentiontoit. Theideaof visitorsfromouter
spacedidnotatall seemstrangetome. Whyshouldonly theEarthbeinhabitedbyintelligent beings?Therewasnoreasonwhatever to
assumesuchathing, except becauseof one'svanityasahomodivinusor sapiens; solipsismonthepart of manwastoowell knownfrom
thephantasticcrueltiesof anage, only 400-500yearsago, whichthought theworldtobeflatandalsotobethecenter of thewhole
universe, withmanasitsfocal point of divineattention.
Thefact of spaceshipscomingdowntoearthwasthereforenothingnew. I hadheardaboutit ontheradioattimes. But it wasnever in
thecenter of myattention. This, inspiteof thefact that friendshadtoldmeof saucershavingbeenseennear Orgononin1951. Even
when, inAugust 1952, whenstandingonthefront porchof mysummer houseatOrgonon, I heardsomethingbuzzfromhorizonto
horizon, SWtoNE withinafewseconds, I paidlittleattentiontoit.
Myinterest inthesaucer problemwasseriouslyawakenedinthefollowingmanner, torepeat mybrief report containedinthesecond
chapter.
Wehadsufferedgravelyfromtheblack substancewhichhadpoureddownover OrgononsinceApril 1952, theso-called"Melanor". It
wasobviousfromall appearancesthat thisMelanor (See"BlackeningRocks", OEB, 1953) camefromsomewhereintheUniverse. But
only inNovember 1953, whenI first readtheKeyhoeReport, didthingsbegintofall intoplace.
DisclosuresregardingtheFlyingSaucers, suchasnoiseless, bluishshimmeringlights, rotatingdiscs, underlyingtheir motion, fell into
placewithsomeof thefactsI knewwell fromcosmicOR energy functioning: functionssuchassilentoperationwhichI hadexperienced
whentheOR motor hadbeenworkedonin1947-1948, or theblueluminationin0.5micronpressurevacuumtubes. Theold
orgonometricfunctionscameback, onebyone, especiallythosewhichdealt withthegravitational equation:
Thefactsconfirmingtheseabstractionsseemedtobeathandnow, inastrangely practical manner. Thingstiedinfurther. Functionafter
functioncoordinateditself withwhat I hadreadaboutthe"unidentifiedobjects". Thefinal pictureasof today isaboutthis:
(1) TheCORE Men" (CORE =CosmicOrgoneEngineering) asI cametocall them, apparently werethoroughlyconversant withthelaws
of functioninginthecosmicOR energy ocean, especiallywithgravityasafunctionof superimposition.

(4) Thechangesof color frombluetowhiteor red, etc., I n=knewwell fromvariousstudiesof OR phenomenaandI hadseensome

(5) TheCORE menwereobviouslyridingtheir spaceshipsonthemainOR energy streamsof theUniverse(SeeCosmicSuperimposition
on"GalacticandEquatorial Streams").
(6) Thetremendousspeedswhichthey areabletoachievewerenotindisagreement withall thetremendousquantitiesI hadcalculated
for theOR energy streamsof theUniversein1940-1944. Therearestill many gapsthere, andmany uncertainties. Thetablesof thekrx-
number systemareinmypossession.
(7) A speedof 10or 15thousandmphdidnotappear impossibleinthelightof thesenumbers; onthecontrary, it appearedquitenatural.
(8) Theyrotatedtheir discsinharmonywiththeOR wavesthey rodeon. Rotatingdiscsdescribeexactlywhat I hadcalculated10years
previously astheso-calledKRW("Krieselwellen") or SpinningWaves, without anyknowledgeof spaceshipsactually ridingcosmicOR
waves. Fromthesewaves, I hadderivedmymass-freeequation:
Thingswerefittingwell, eventooneatlyfor mytaste. Therefore, I hesitatedtotell anythingtoanyoneaboutthem. I only worriedabout
what mighthavehappenedtothefactsandequationswhichastudent hadacquiredin1947to1949. hehadworkedontheOR energy
motor, andhedisappearedin1949under mysteriouscircumstances.
(9) J ust asspaceisnotempty, lightdoesnot"comedowntousfromthestarsandthesun". It isaneffectof luminationintheOR energy
envelopeof theplanets. It isalocal phenomenon. Therefore, thereistheoreticallynolimit tospeedincosmicspace, except technically.
Thisagreeswiththeapparently limitlessquantitiesinenergy functionswhichcharacterizetheorgonometric"krx- system" asprogressing
ingeometricproportions. Theseorgonometriccalculationsseemtobeapplicabletothetechnological problemsof CosmicOR Energy
Streams.
Therearetimesinthehistoryof manwhenall slogansof thedaybecomesuddenlymeaningless; wheneternityseemstocomehometo
