US and CAS sign North American Protective Treaty After more than a decade of negotiations, the Presidents of the US and CAS, with the approval of their Senates, signed the North American Protective Treaty obligating each to come to the others aid if it is attacked. The NAPT will make everyone safer, it is a defensive obligation aimed only at deterring aggression, said US President Angela Colloton. We are in negotiation with the other nations in North America with the hope of bringing them into the treaty and insuring a peaceful world for all. Our brother countries are united in repelling unwarranted hostility from any source, said CAS President Aaron Franklin. But we do not seek war. The NAN have expressed concern that NAPT is directed at them but such suggestions have been denied by both the US and CAS who emphasize that they would welcome the NAN member states into an expanded NAPT. Quebec is rumored to be in talks to join the NAPT next year.
