US and CAS sign North
American Protective Treaty
After more than a decade of
negotiations, the Presidents of the
US and CAS, with the approval of
their Senates, signed the North
American Protective Treaty
obligating each to come to the
others aid if it is attacked.
The NAPT will make
everyone safer, it is a defensive
obligation aimed only at deterring
aggression, said US President
Angela Colloton. We are in
negotiation with the other nations in
North America with the hope of
bringing them into the treaty and
insuring a peaceful world for all.
Our brother countries are
united in repelling unwarranted
hostility from any source, said CAS
President Aaron Franklin. But we
do not seek war.
The NAN have expressed
concern that NAPT is directed at
them but such suggestions have been
denied by both the US and CAS who
emphasize that they would welcome
the NAN member states into an
expanded NAPT.
Quebec is rumored to be in
talks to join the NAPT next year.

Catholic Cathedral
reopens after Repairs
The St James Cathedral in
downtown Seattle, damaged during
winter storm Hekate, has reopened
after efficient but extensive repairs
to the roof and windows.
We are thankful for all of
the effort and support of the local
community, said Deacon Wynn-
Jones. The damage caused by the
storm could have been much worse
and we are pleased that repairs were
done so quickly as to allow us to
resume service with a minimal
downtime.
A special thanks giving service
is to be held this Sunday with a
performance by the Seattle Catholic
Youth Choir including music written
especially for the service by local
composer Jane Zarastra. The service is
open to all but a small donation is
requested.
Final Game pits the Stress
against the Rockers at Home
As the 69-70 Combat Soccer
Season wraps up, the Stress face the
Liverpool Rockers at the OmniDome in
Seattle.
The Stress need a convincing
victory (and for Moscow Red Blood to
lose against the Taipei Dragon) to claim
the 4 place ranking. The Rockers, only
th
promoted to the premier league in 68,
are solidly mid-ranked this season. But
last time these two teams met it was a 1-1
draw at Liverpool, both will be looking
for a win in this final match of the
season.

New Gang War between the
Ancients and the Cutters
The low-level conflict between
the Ancients and Cutters gangs have
again flared into open warfare in Seattle.
Knight Errant blames at least twelve
murders in the last week on this conflict.
We are unaware what triggered
the end of the truce between the two
gangs, but it seems that it began with a
Cutters ambush in Redmond, said KE
gang specialist Jorge Hammer.
Knight Errant has deployed its
gang task force and additional mobile
units to the Metroplex barrens in an
attempt to quell further violence.
