The Gateway Project is a
member-led social and

experience of mental
health issues.

The project aims to support

integration of people into
the soci al , cul tural ,
educational and working
life of the community. It
works to address the social
exclusion and inequality
faced by many people with
experiences of mental ill
health and to promote
positive mental health,
wellbeing and recovery.

Support
We provide a drop-in on
Mondays & Thursdays from
1 5pm where people can
call in for a coffee and a
chat. Members can also
get involved with a range of
activities as they choose.
for the project as well as
participating on the Advisory
Committee. We appreciate
and support our members
time and commitment.

Training Opportunities
We also provide a mix of
formal and non formal
training with a view to
developing skills and
confidence. Courses are
varied and range from
ac c r edi t ed per s onal

We also have links to RPCPs

back into employment.

The Gateway Project opened in January 2004 as a pilot
initiative between the Rathmines Community Partnership
and Vergemount Mental Health Services. It is now an
established community resource and was highlighted as an
example of good practice in the recent National Economic
Social Forum Report on Mental Health and Social Inclusion.
The Project is supported by an Advisory Committee, including
representation from membership, the HSE (Mental Health
Services Vergemount and the Rehabilitation, Training and
Guidance Services), SHINE, Mental Health Reform, Dublin
City Council and the Disability Federation of Ireland.
