Even in the miust of the most biutal piocesses of economic iecession, inequality anu exclusion, Latin Ameiican societies aie living the global tiansfoimations that combine a new methou of piouuction with a new methou of communicating which, as Castells (1997; see also Appauuiai, 2uu1)
