FORMAT FOR PREPARATION OF TRAINING REPORT


(Four Weeks/Six Weeks/ Six Monts!
ARRANGEMENT OF "ONTENTS#
The sequence in which the training report material should be arranged and bound as
follows:

The tables and figures shall be introduced in the appropriate places.
T$PING INSTR%"TIONS#
1. The training report must be submitted in Two Copies (one for department and 2
nd
for
librar#! dul# signed b# the 231. tudents should also submit the soft cop# on C1 in
pdf format in the librar#.
2. The length of the training report ma# be about %. to ). page.
". The training report shall be computer t#ped (4nglish5 6ritish7 -ont 5Times 0oman7 i8e5
12 point! and printed on '% si8e paper.
%. The training report shall be hard bound with cover page in 9aroon color. The name of
the students7 degree7 duration of training period7 name of the universit# including
institute name shall be printed in Go&'en letters on the cover page :0efer sample sheet
(outer cover page!;
&. The training report shall be t#ped with 1.& line spacing with a margin ".& cm on the left7
2.& cm on the top7 and 1.2& cm on the right and at bottom. 4ver# page in the report must
be numbered. The page numbering7 starting from ac(nowledgements and till the
beginning of the introductor# chapter7 should be printed in small 0oman numbers7 i.e7 i7
ii7 iii7 iv...... The page number of the first page of each chapter should not be printed
(but must be accounted for!. 'll page numbers from the second page of each chapter
should be printed using 'rabic numerals7 i.e. 27"7%7&... 'll printed page numbers should
be located at the bottom centre of the page.
<. In the training report7 the title page :0efer sample sheet (inner title pager!; should be
given first and printed in blac( letters.
). Te t()&e o* +ontents should list all headings and sub5headings. The title page and
certificates will not find a place among the items listed in the Table of Contents. 3ne
and a half line spacing should be adopted for t#ping the matter under this head.
*. Te &ist o* t()&es should use e=actl# the same captions as the# appear above the tables
in the te=t. 3ne and a half spacing should be adopted for t#ping the matter under this
head.
,. Te &ist o* *i,ures should use e=actl# the same captions as the# appear below the
figures in the te=t. 3ne and a half spacing should be adopted for t#ping the matter under
this head.
1.. The list of s#mbols7 abbreviation > nomenclature should be t#ped with one and a half
line spacing. tandard s#mbols7 abbreviation etc should be used.
11. Training report should consist of following chapters.
a. Chapter 15 Introduction
b. Chapter 25 Pro?ect wor(
(It will be divided into several chapters and each chapter should be numbered
separatel#. ' chapter ma# be further divided into several divisions and sub5
divisions depending on t#pe > volume of wor(. This contains the te=t > related
to hardware > software implementation!.
c. Chapter "5 0esult > 1iscussion.
d. Chapter %5 Conclusion > -uture cope. (The chapter /o. of chapter " > %
ma# var# depending on no. of chapters covered in @Pro?ect Aor(B chapter!
4ach chapter should be given an appropriate title. Tables > figures in a chapter
should be placed in the immediate vicinit# of the reference where the# are cited.
-ootnotes should be used sparingl#. The# should be t#ped single space and placed
directl# underneath in the ver# same page7 which refers to the material the#
annotate. Conclusion must not e=ceed more than two pages. -uture scope also
must not e=ceed one page.
1". 'ppendices are provided to give supplementar# information7 which is included in the
main te=t ma# serve as a distraction and cloud the central theme.
i! 'ppendices should be numbered using 'rabic numerals7 e.g. 'ppendi= 17 'ppendi= 27
etc.
ii! 'ppendices7 Tables and 0eferences appearing in appendices should be numbered and
referred to at appropriate places ?ust as in the case of chapters.
iii! 'ppendices shall carr# the title of the wor( reported and the same title shall be made
in the contents page also.
1%. The listing of references should be t#ped % line spaces below the heading C04-404/C4D
in alphabetical order in single spacing left E ?ustified. The reference material should be listed in
the alphabetical order of the surname of the first author. The name of the author (s! should be
immediatel# followed b# the #ear and other details.
