People of Britain, your children are safe. Your husbands and your sons will not march to war. Peace is a victory for all
mankind. If we must have a victor, let us choose Chamberlain, for the Prime Ministers conquests are mighty an
enduring- millions of happy homes and hearts relieved of their burden.

We regard the Agreement signed last night.as symbolic of the desire of our two peoples never to go to war with one
another again. We are resolved that we shall use consultation to deal with any other questions that may concern our
two countries, and we are determined to continue our efforts to assure the peace of Europe.

By repeatedly surrendering to force, Chamberlain has encouraged aggression..our central contention, therefore, is that
Mr Chamberlains policy has throughout been based on a fatal misunderstanding of the physcology of dictatorship.

We have suffered total defeat..I think you will find that in a period of time Czechoslovakia will be engulfed in the Nazi
regime. We have passed an aweful milestone in our history. This is the beginning of the reckoning.

Support the Munich Agreement:
Source 30- You can see that this source supports the agreement because it is commenting on how the agreement had
created peace and it tells the people of Britain that they are now safe. It describes that their families wouldnt have to
go to war anymore, and that their children are safe.
Source 31-This describes the agreement that was signed, and how it has reassured the peace within Europe. It also says
that the agreement was used as a symbol for the two countries to never go to war with one another again.
Source 32 B-In this picture, you can see Chamberlain rolling a globe across a wooden plank bridge that is about to break.
On the other side, there is peace and underneath the bridge, you see war. Many people might think that this is a
negative picture, as it shows the bridge breaking and Chamberlains about to put the world into war. However, I think
this could show that Chamberlains helping the world because the bridge has not yet broken, and the globe he is rolling
is past the point of the crack. Therefore, Chamberlain might fall but it looks like he could have saved the world from war.
Source 36- This newspaper article shows a positive side of the Agreement, with a picture of Chamberlain and the piece
of paper that he and Hitler had signed. On the article itself, it says that peace is here, peace is ensured, peace will be
ensured etc, therefore it shows the positive aspect of the situation.

Criticise the Munich Agreement:
Source 32 A- This picture is immediately given a negative atmosphere because of the nazi skeleton standing in front of
the door with a knife in its mouth. It is restricting the Czechs access.
Source 33-This source describes that Chamberlain hasnt created peace but instead encouraged aggression.
Source 34- This source shows Winston Churchill saying that they have suffered total defeat. And by they or we, I
think he meant Britain is the one who had suffered defeat. Also, he said that this is the beginning of the reckoning,
which shows that the signing of the agreement is a beginning of payment in a way. Overall, it criticizes the agreement.
Source 35-This source shows a man sitting right beneath a cliff, reading a newspaper. There are several rocks over his
head, labelled with different names. A rope is tied to a particular rock that is basically stopping all the rocks from falling.
The rock represents the Czechs. If they pull the rope, the Czechs rock that is blocking every other rock from falling, will
be pulled out and all the other rocks will crash down onto the man reading the newspaper.
