25 interview questions

1. Recent project. Puzzles that the interview wouldnt understand. Creativity.

Attitude, personal attitude, curiosity. Try to explain what you know.
Stay the person you are: better you and the co. choose a technical project you
like, bring some material to the interview. You should interview the company
as well! Ask to describe the after-next position. Make sure your ambition fit
to the companys profile.

2. Raw intelligence (2
nd
-dary) , social skills, curiosity, background knowledge,
ability to think, background knowledge, creativity, independent thinking,. Be
Be prepared. Be yourself. Think about the question.

3. SAR. Technical interviews try to find the next potential, anticipate the next
breakthrough.

4. What is most interesting to you? Do your homework and find out what is
interesting to you. Only accept offers interesting to you, otherwise you will
not perform as well as you think.

5. For interviewers: look for questions that are simple but actually not. Take a
familiar question and swap its parameters and see if the interviewer can
understand it. For interviewers: Anticipate questions that are more
complicated than they seem to be.

6. For interviewers: Find the right openings, pick questions that are more
focused in your field. Phone interview. Test basic knowledge, creativity,
analysis,, and learning ability. Explore communication skill, team work,
leadership etc. For interviewers: understand the requirements and study
for all general questions, they will be asked! System level design, high level
RF performance, analysis and production ramp, etc.

Design this circuit:

Power supply, two switches 3 wires connected. 5 seconds to determine
how the 3 switches work. What is the circuit diagram? 2 diodes, two lamps,
With only one line, the middle wire is the thin coax.

Next question:
Water from two faucets, streams down into two buckets. Each bucket is
electrically connected to a conductive ring on the other side through which water
flows. Every few seconds there is an electric spark conductive water collecting
buckets ( the CFL lights ups). Explain how this works? What does it resemble?
What determined how frequent the sparks occur?

Next question:
How to use feedback loops
Understand how feedback loop works.
a) individual stage feedback: in - block block block out
b) overall feedback in-block block block outd 9loops back to input)
c) nested feedback.dunno

Next question:
Favorite analog circuit you can draw in 5 minutes make sure it works!!! If
the circuit doesnt work, you fail!

Next question:

Oscillator Puzzle. Does it oscillate or not? Phase shift is not over 180 degrees does
not oscillate. Right plane poles are unstable jw + sigma. Etc.

Next question:
For RC circuit Low pass filter. I = cdv/dt. What happens for non-ideal
circuits? What if the cap has leakage?

Next question:

What is inside the box? How to determine what is inside a mystery box? How
can we determine the solution? Current? Temperature? What is noise performance
inside the box?
For cap not charged? What is total charge and stored energy? Obv. 0. What
is total charge of charged cap? CV^2. Conservation of charge. Charged cap is
CVc^2/4 instead of CVc^s/2.
Give a number for infinity:
Single Universe, one dimension,
1.35 * 10^9 years after big bang
31.5 *10^6 sec/year
3*10^8 m/sec
1.2 *10^26 m =
2.8 *10^15 m size of an electron

Next question:
Loudspeaker What is inside? How does it work? It says 8-ohms on the back.
What exactly is 8-ohms in a loudspeaker? Is it resistive? Inductive? Or Capacitive?
Keep in mind it works over a broad range of frequencies. Its resistive and wide
band, but think about where energy is going? The ohms is a conversion of electric
energy to acoustic energy. Same as an antenna.

Next question:
Scaling is not always good for analog, because of small dynamic range and poor
saturation performance. How can you deal with the scaling issue?
Next question:
Differential pair, current mirrors. What happens when the difference in
differential pairs is very high? Does it behave linearly?

Next question:
Antenna Noise: Noise density, 4ktRout. Thermal dynamics.

Next question:
SINCE WAVE f(x) = sin(2pit/T). Find jitter at the zero crossing when the
noise voltage is deltav.
Trapezoidal wave ring oscillator: Is the jitter performance of a trapezoidal
wave ring oscillator better than that of a sine wave ring oscillator?
Describe a circuit to make Tr/T close to zero.
