o 23 de julio: Aid Zaura/ Da de la Revolucin de Egipto. Se celebra la
revolucin que a travs de un golpe de estado encabezado por los
militares que logr la abdicacin del ltimo rey de Egipto, Farouk I, el
23 de julio de 1952. Luego, se instaur el sistema presidencial en el
pas.

Population : 61.89 million ( 1999 ) . Area: 1,001,450 Km2 Capital : Cairo ( Al-
Qahirah ) . Currency: Pound ( Yeneh ) . Official Language : Arabic . English and
French is spoken in much of the university population .

Almost the entire population ( 99 % ) is concentrated in the valley and delta of
the Nile River ( Nahr -an- Nil ), representing 30 % of the total area . The rest of
the territory is occupied by deserts , with some isolated oases . The Nile floods
for millennia have scheduled the country's economic life . There are dams ,
most notably that of Aswan ( Aswan) to the south. Besides traditional crops :
wheat, rice and corn, the cotton plantations and sugar cane . Harnessing
hydropower, oil along Northeast ( Sinai Peninsula ) favored industrial
development.

the north eastern and central , and Africans in Upper Nile

francs en gran parte de la poblacin universitaria.

Casi la totalidad de la poblacin (99%) se concentra en el valle y delta del ro El
Nilo (Nahr-an-Nil), que representa 30% de la superficie total. El resto del
territorio est ocupado por desiertos, con algunos oasis aislados. Las crecidas
del Nilo han pautado desde hace milenios la vida econmica del pas. Existen
represas, entre las que destaca la de Assun (Aswan), al sur. Adems de los
cultivos tradicionales: trigo, arroz y maz, hay plantaciones de algodn y caa
de azcar. El aprovechamiento de energa hidroelctrica, junto al petrleo del
noreste (pennsula de Sina) favoreci el desarrollo industrial.
