Charles Dickens is one of Englands most famous writers. He lived from 1812 to
1870 and he wrote fifteen maor novels and lots of short stories. !here are over

Oliver Twist& Great Expectations and David Copperfield.
Dickens was $orn in 'ortsmouth in the south of England& $ut the famil( moved
to )ondon when he was ten (ears old. He had a difficult childhood. His father
s#ent a long time in #rison and Charles had to work in a factor( from the age of
twelve. )ater his famil( received mone( from his fathers famil( and their life
