Odyssey Script

Athena: Oh Zeus, please release Odysseus from his prison on Calypsos island.
Zeus: So be it. But beware of Poseidons wrath.
Athena: I shall send Hermes to deliver this command to Calypso, then I shall go to Ithaca to see
Odysseus son.
(Athena leaves, transition to Ithaca)
Telemachus: Who are you? Where are you from? Have you ever been to Ithaca before?
Athena (Mentes): I am Mentes. I am a Taphian captain and a family friend of your grandfather
Laertes. I have come to inform you that your father Odysseus is not dead, but just being
detained at sea.
Telemachus: It is not certain that I am his son, and if he is not dead, he surely will be. The
suitors who are after my mother Penelopes hand devour all that we have, and when they are
done, they will surely kill us.
Athena (Mentes): If you want information about your father, then get a boat and a crew, and
sail to Pylos, and speak to Nestor, and then go to the red-haired king, Menelaus of Sparta.
(Transition- Boat/Pirates of Carr. Music)
Telemachus: Oh Great Nestor, have you news of my father?
Nestor: I no know! Here, have my son! *shoves son at Telemachus*
Telemachus: Okay?
(Transition- THIS IS SPARTA)
Telemachus: Great king Menelaus, have you news of my father?
Menelaus: He is held captive by Calypso, but you have to stay 12 days if you wish for gifts.
Telemachus: No
Narrator: He stayed anyway.
(Transition to Olympus)
Athena: Release Odysseus from his prison on Calypsos island.
Zeus: Alright, go Hermes, go.
(Transition to Calypsos island)
Calypso: Why are you here Hermes?
Hermes: I was sent by Zeus with the order to release Odysseus.
Calypso: Why are you so unfair to a goddess? Fine, I will release him, but only because Zeus said
so. *walks over to Odysseus, who is crying*
Narrator: Odysseus had been weeping for his home a long time, on Calypsos island.
Calypso: Oh Odysseus, need not be sorrowful any longer. Here is some wood for a raft, and
some food and water for survival.
Odysseus: Okay then, oh beautiful nymph
*Calypso walks away*
Odysseus: What just happened?
(Transition to Odysseus in water)
Narrator: 17 days later
Odysseus: LAND!
Poseidon: Ah ha! I, Poseidon, have returned. I am very angry at you for hurting my son
Polyphemus, now, STORM!
*Water spray on Odysseus*
Odysseus: I AM ABOUT TO DIE!
Ino: I am Ino! Here, take this veil. If you swim with it, you will not drown!
Odysseus: I shant swim! *falls off raft*
Odysseus: Okay you know what never mind.
*Odysseus climbs out of water*
Narrator: Odysseus has reached the land of the Phoenicians.
*Odysseus crawls over and plops onto ground*
(Transition to Nausicaa, asleep)
Athena (Nausicaas friend): I being a friend of yours, I shall tell you that to find a suitable man to
marry you, you first need to wash your clothes.
Nausicaa: I will go to the Washing Pool.
(Transition to Washing Pool)
Narrator: After the girls wash clothes, they decide to play ball.
Girls: AHHHHHHHH!!!!!
*Odysseus walks up with sign saying Naked*
Odysseus: Can you help me?
Narrator: Nausicaa introduces herself and the town to him, and she bathes him with the help of
her maids. He is dressed, provided food and drink, and told how to approach the palace.
Nausicaa: Go to my mother.
Odysseus: Okay.
(Transition to Palace)
*Odysseus kneels in front of Arete*
Odysseus: Can you send me home?
Arete: Why are you wearing my daughters clothes?
Odysseus: That is a long story. It began in
Narrator: Odysseus launches his story from when he first arrived on Calypsos island, to when
Nausicaa gave him clothes.
Alkinoos: If you remain here, you will marry my daughter. Should you leave, we will send you
home on our fastest ship.
Random Maid: Time to sleep everybody.
Alkinoos: So who are you stranger?
Odysseus: I am Odysseus. I faced many trials. I was in the Trojan War, and faced the Cyclops
Polyphemus.
(Flashback transition, Odysseus, a Crewman, and a picture of Justin Beiber, which is another
Crewman, outside cave)
Odysseus: Look, there is a cave over here.
Crewman: Its so pretty, lets go in.
Odysseus: Okay. *both walk inside*
Odysseus: Oh my goodness, there is so much food, and other useful items.
Crewman: We should eat it all and use it!
Odysseus: No, we have to wait for whoever lives here to come back.
Polyphemus: *walking in* I, Polyphemus, sees people! I want! Give! OMNOMNOM!
*Eats Justin Beiber*
Polyphemus: Who are you!
Odysseus: Nobody
Polyphemus: Okay, goodnight.
*Polyphemus goes to sleep*
Odysseus: Night.
*Starts singing lullaby as he creeps over and stabs Polyphemus eye out*
Polyphemus: AHHHH!!!! MY EYE! MY EYE! AHHH!
*Polyphemus runs off*
*Odysseus walks out of cave*
Odysseus: Hat!
*Top Hat thrown at him*
Odysseus: Music!
*Music starts, Odysseus Dances off screen*
