Experience
Software Engineering Intern, Google Inc., Mountain View, CA Summer 2012
Worked on improving techniques being used for classifying YouTube videos using the new
distributed deep neural network framework (Google brain).

Co-Founder and VP (Tech), Indian Raga 2011-12
Co-founded Indian Raga, a startup aimed at democratizing the Indian performing arts
space by bringing together the very best of upcoming talent within various genres of
music and trying to build and strengthen the next generation of musicians in the region
from diverse musical traditions.

privileged students by providing them guidance and support they need to gain admission
to Indias top undergraduate colleges.

Research
Experience
Internship, Microsoft Research, Bangalore, India

Automatic problem and solution generation for Algebra problems June-July, 2011
Worked on designing a robust back-end for implementing a touch-based mobile appli-
cation enabling high school students to manipulate trigonometric expressions and solve
problems faster than the traditional pen and paper methods. We also devised a method-
ology to generate new problems similar to the given one with their solutions. With Sumit
Gulwani, MSR Redmond and Sriram Rajamani, MSR Bangalore

Internship, Institute of Science and Technology(IST), Austria

Quantitative Synthesis of Concurrent Data Structures May-July, 2010
We designed an algorithm for quantitative synthesis of synchronization constructs for
concurrent data structure method sketches modeling them as solving games with imper-
fect information and implemented the algorithm for finding optimal concurrent list data
structure lock-based synchronizations with respect to a weighted performance model. In-
ternship with Prof. Thomas Henzinger, Prof. Krishnendu Chatterjee and Dr. Pavol
Cerny

Internship, Ecole Polytechnique Federal de Lausanne(EPFL), Switzerland

Quantitative Synthesis of Reactive Systems May-July, 2009
Implemented the framework of quantitative Synthesis of reactive systems using game-
theoretic measures and extended the synthesis paradigm to incorporate probabilistic be-
havior of the environment and proposed a new polynomial time algorithm for solving
the problem being modeled as parity mean payoff MDP. Internship with Prof. Thomas
Henzinger and Prof. Barbara Jobstmann

Senior Undergraduate Thesis, IIT Bombay

Termination of Linear Programs August 2010 - April 2011
We formulated an order reduction method for single loop initialized linear programs and a
technique to decide termination in majority of the cases. Also, we precisely characterized
the small class of problem cases with concrete examples.
