An eight week exam revision course to master the TOEIC.


Week Topic and Aim
1 & 2 Understanding the TOEIC format. Knowing the different parts of the Listening Exam
(4 parts) and the types of questions in each part. Knowing the different parts of the
Reading Exam (4 parts) and the types of questions.
Completing the Diagnostic Test
Your Aim: To know the TOEIC format by analysing both the Listening and Reading exams.
Review slides for Week 1-2. To complete the Diagnostic Test for Listening and Reading.

3 Listening Parts 1 and 2: To know the different samples of questions that are used in
Part 1-Picture Description and Part 2-Question/Response. To know techniques and
strategies to answer the questions and know how not to lose any marks.
Your Aim: To master the technique of answering Parts 1 and 2 by reviewing sample
questions and the slides titled TOEIC Week 3.

4 Listening Parts 3 and 4: To know the different samples of questions that are used in
Part 3-Conversations and Part 4-Talks. To know techniques and strategies to answer
the questions and know how not to lose any marks.
Your Aim: To master the technique of answering Parts 3 and 4 by reviewing sample
questions and the slides titled TOEIC Week 4.

5 Reading Parts 1 and 2: To know the different samples of questions that are used in
Part 1-Incomplete Sentences and Part 2-Text Completion. To know the techniques
and strategies to answer the questions and know how not to lose any marks.
Your Aim: To master the technique of answering Parts 1 and 2 by reviewing sample
questions and the slides titled TOEIC Week 5.

6 Reading Parts 3 and 4: To know the different samples of questions that are used in
Part 3-Text Comprehension and Part 4-Documents Comprehension. To know the
techniques and strategies to answer the questions and know how not to lose any marks.
Your Aim: To master the technique of answering Parts 3 and 4 by reviewing sample
questions and the slides titled TOEIC Week 6.

7 and 8 Practice Exams: To complete as many Listening and Reading Practice exams as possible.
Your Aim: To master exam technique by practising as many exams as possible so that
you are in control of your time and can finish the exam within the time limit. By this time
you should be averaging not less than 80 /100 for Listening and 80/100 for Reading.
IF YOU ARE DROPPING MARKS MAKE SURE YOU ANALYSE AND REVIEW ANY QUESTION
YOU GET WRONG.

Final Review: To undertake a final review so there are no areas in the Listening or
Reading exams that you have any difficulties with.
Your Aim: To have mastered the whole TOEIC before the exam so you can relax, do well
on the exam day and achieve a high TOEIC.
