TRAVEL ADVISORY AND IMPORTANT REMINDERS

The venue of the 38
th
General Assembly of Student Councils will be at the College Conference Room,
University of the Philippines Visayas Tacloban College, Magsaysay Boulevard, Tacloban City. Delegates will
be billeted at the UPV Tacloban dormitories.

For those traveling via plane to Tacloban

1) There are jeepneys at the airport that will take you to downtown Tacloban go to the Remedios
T. Romualdez Plaza (RTR Plaza) where you can ride a tricycle to UP Tacloban (The jeepney fare is
at Php 15 and the tricycle fare is at Php 8)

2) There are also vehicles that you can rent to bring you to UP tacloban (They are called taxi in the
airport) The fare ranges from Php 200 to 300

For those traveling via bus to Tacloban

1) Take a multicab from the Tacloban City Terminal to downtown. Tell the driver to drop you off at
the RTR plaza and take a tricycle to UP Tacloban (The fare for the multicab is at Php 8 and the
tricycle fare is also at Php 8)

How to go to Tacloban?

From Manila: Direct flights from Manila to Tacloban are available via several airlines: AirAsia/ZestAir, Cebu
Pacific/TigerAirways and Philippine Airlines. You may also take buses which will take around 20-24 hours.

From Cebu: Direct flights from Cebu to Tacloban are available via Cebu Pacific and Philippine Airlines. Then
take the fast craft or slow boat to Ormoc where you can take a van or bus to Tacloban which will stop at
the Tacloban City Terminal.

From Iloilo: Connecting flight via Manila or Cebu. You could also take a boat ride from Iloilo to Cebu. From
Cebu, take another fast craft or slow boat to Ormoc then a van or bus to Tacloban.

From Mindanao: Connecting flight via Cebu or Manila. You coul also take a bus ride from Davao to
Tacloban which will take around 24 hours.

IMPORTANT REMINDERS:

1) Due to the current situation of UP Tacloban and the accommodations of the participants, you
are advised to bring your own beddings.

2) There is a smoking ban being implemented in the campus. Please smoke outside the campus
premises.

3) Please refrain from going outside the campus and/or the dormitory alone. Please ask the
secretariat to accompany you.
