REMEMBER ME
INTRODUCTION
Do you frequently find yourself spending hours of your days looking for your keys,
wallet, glasses or your precious jewellery? On average people spend about 10
minutes a day looking for such items and about 9 of these items are lost per day.
The solution to this problem is an application called Remember Me. It works by
building a database for your belongings. Using this database is can assist to search
for these missing objects.
3. BUSINESS SECTION
3.1 Vision
Helping people across the world find their belongings quicker. Saving time, but most
of all relieveing their troubles and worries. Making though days a bit easier.
3.2 Industry Analysis: Missing Property Search Assistance Industry
Force: High/Low: Justification:
Buyer power: Low This is an emerging industry as technology is
still being developed to be used within it.
Therefore there are only few companies that
comprise of it such as Stick N Find and Tile.
Thus the consumers have little choice from
whom to buy from.
Supplier power: High Consumers have few choices among
companies within the industry. Consumers
are locked in when they start using products
within the industry as the locator tags
purchased only work on the system available
in this industry.

Threat of new entrants: Low A very technologically intensive industry.
Making it very hard for new entrants as they
have to put in much time and research to be
able to compete in the industry. It will also be
very capital intensive to fund the ongoing
research and maintain the systems.
Threat of substitutes: Low No major substitutes to this industry, devices
such as metal detectors may be a minor
substitute. It is an emerging market thus there
little to no substitutes. Save for manually
searching for these objects which take a lot of
time and effort.
Rivalry among existing
competitors:
High Companies such as Stick N Find and Tile
within the industry use similar technologies.
Thus there is a high level of competition to
improve the service provided among the
businesses in the industry.
Overall attractiveness of the industry: It is an attractive industry as it captures an
emerging market giving the suppliers power to charge what they like and conusmers
will have to accept it. It is difficult to break into the industry due to the high
technological requirements, making it even more attractive as companies already
within the industry can claim large market shares.

3.3 Customers and Thei r Needs
Potiential customers for this application are limitless. Our target group is everyone.
Everbody misplaces items and thus can benefit from our service. According to a
survey done by the Mail online (2012) on average people spend about 10 minutes a
day looking for such items and about 9 of these items are lost per day. In the long
run this works out to about 3,680 hours or 153 days of our lifetimes spent searching
for these items. Thats why this application will be relevant to all of these people.

3.4 The Product and Service
Remember Me designed to simplify the search for misplaced items. It is a data
processing system that creates a database and stores information regarding your
most commonly used items. When the item is proceses the previously stored
information to provide the user with a graphical representation or a ranking of the
most probable places your items could be. Assisting in the users search for these
objects without having to physical alter these objects with tags and bar codes. It is a
living and ever developing system that evolves with more input from the user to
provide an increasingly efficient service.
3.5 Suppliers and Partners
Remember Mes main sector is its mobile application version. 2 of our major partners
will be Apple and Google. Provide us with the IOs and Android software required to
build our application upon. The also provide us with the platform to launch and run
our application. Providing further services such as a platform where users can rate
the application and express their openions about it giving us key feedback. In terms
of suppliers one of our key service providers would be telecommunication
companies. Providing us usage of their numerous satellites thus allowing us to run
our GPS pinpointing interface. Banks will be another major suppliers. Supplying us
the online interface required to process our numerous transactions made by our
customers and to ensure that each transaction goes through smoothly preventing
any loss of income.
3.6 Strategy: Cost Leadership
In terms of our cost strategy we have decided to go with low cost. To make the
system more attractive to our consumers. There is a high level of competition within
the industry and our competitors such as Stick N Find and Tile provide more
extensive search capabilities with items such as tags. Thus in order to differenciate
ourself from the competition we have opted to go with a more cost effective solution
to our customers. Moreover costs and overheads incurred while running the system
is fairly low compared to our competitors therefore we can afford to charge less for
our services. In terms of competitive scope we have chosen to go with broad market.
Our system provides a solution to a problem faced by everyone allowing us to
expand our target market to include people from all levels of market segregation.
The system will be very user friendly and thus can also be used by our large target
market.
3.7 Value Chain Activity: Technology Development

5

5
The very essence out our product is a system which relies heavily on technology.
There must allways be a high level of technological development to constantly
maintain the system solving any bugs or issues in the software experienced by our
users. It will be used to keep the system up to date thought high levels of research
and development. Allowing us to compete effectively with the other firms in the
industry, keeping our users happy and strive to be market leaders.
3.8 Business Processes
3.8.1. Problem Analysation Process
- This allows
our system
to run
smoothly,
keeping our
customers
happy.
Problems
with the
system is
reported,
leading to
the program
being
checked for
any bugs or
glitches, if
one is found
it will be
fixed. If not
the system
will be
checked for
user
freindlyness.
If no issues
are found then the problem is sent to our fault detection service for a more
extensive investigation. If one is found it will be fixed and a new patch of the
program will be released by our programming department.

3.8.2. Version Update Development process

6

6
Keeps the system
up to date with
consumer needs.
Extensive market
research is done by
our Marketing
department to
identify the needs of
our consumers. This
is then sent through
the programming
process to deveop a
new version of the
system. Which will
be put be through a
set of tests with
focus groups and
their reactions
processed. If it is
negative then
different version will
be developed but if it
is positive then it will
be implemented as a
new version update.
3.9 Functionalities
3.9.1. Problem Analysation Process
Identifies problems within the system
Solves these problems and releases new updates.

3.9.2. Version Update Development process
Develops new versions of the system
Keeps the system up to date allowing it to be competitive.

3.10 Systems

3.10. 1. Operations Analysation System.
- OAS will gather information from the transactions made and process it into more analytical
information. Such as information regarding sales patterns, periods of high transactions,

customer behaviour patterns towards the software that could be due to problems in the
system. This information will be passed on to the PAS so that more effective decisions can
be made.

3.10. 2. Product Analysation System.
- The PAS converts data received from the OAS into information that can be used to make
product decisions. This in turn constitutes use of technology to provide acess to and support
the analysation of this data by the managers. Therefore allowing the firm to better analyse
their options which will lead to more informed product decisions such as deciding to make an
update to the systems version. Allowing for more efficient use of resources and leading to
more satisfied customers.

3.10. 3. Feedback Analysation System.
- FAS helps to manage its relationship with its customers. Activities such as RFM will also
help the firm understand what particular group of customers to target. Customer prediction
also allows us to be more aware of our possible customers. Helping the firm to decide how
to structure its new versions, in a manner that best allows it to capture this section of its
customers. FAS also helps the firm to retain its customers and keep them loyal which is key
in the competitive industry that we are in.

CONCLUSION
Remember Me is a system created to assist in the location of missing items. The idea of this
system is based around information systems, using them to gather data, process it and
provide a set of information that will assist the consumer. The firm heavily relies on
information technology to facilitate research that will keep it up to date and competitive.
Useing information system processes to support itself when making decisions about the
product and how it will effect the market. Therefore without information systems or
technology this frim will not be able to sustain itself or its product may never be realised.
