Healthcare mobile application
INTRODUCTION

Nowadays obesity is a major public health concern. Obesity is a known risk factor
for numerous health problems, including hypertension, high cholesterol, diabetes,
cardiovascular diseases, respiratory problems, musculoskeletal diseases and some
forms of cancer (OCED,2013).Especially in new Zealand almost one in three adults
were obese. And one in nine children aged 2 to 14 years were obese (Ministry of
Health, 2013).

To solve this big problem, we will develop a mobile application which can directly link
the obesity peoples health information gained by the mobile applications to health
professor. Hopefully users of the application will be able to use this in conjunction
with their specialist for receiving a final result in a most fast and convenient way!
3. BUSINESS SECTION
3.1 Vision
To organize and analysis the information of obesity people around the world and
make it useful and helpful for obesity peoples health.

3.2 Industry Anal ysi s: healthcare application industry
Industry: healthcare application industry.
Force: High/Low: Justification:
Buyer power: High There has many healthcare application in
the application store. Like Health4Me.So
buyers has many has many choice. The
buyer power is high.
Supplier power: low There are 18.5 mmillion software
developers in the world(Ranger,2013). so
there has a lot of supplier in this industry.
The supplier power is low.

Threat of new
entrants:
High There has no entry barries for new
entrants. For example; the cost of
developing a new application is not that
expensive. So the threat of new entry is
high.
Threat of substitutes: High Instead of using an application to look
after their health, people also can hire a
private doctor or goto the gym to find a
fitness trainer to help them keep fit. So the
threat of substitures is high.
Rivalry among
existing competitors:
High Like Health4Me, There has many
healthcare application in the application
store. So the rivalry among existing
competitors is high.
Overall attractiveness of the industry: the industry is not that attractive, because
except the supplier power is low, the other four forces are high.
3.3 Customers and Their Needs

Our customers are the people who faced obesity problem. Obesity is a major risk
factor for diabetes, cardiovascular disease, cancer, sleep apnoea, non-alcoholic fatty
liver disease and many other health problem (Ahima,& Lazar,2013).so obesity
people want to lose weight and need to find a way to help them keep fit and avoid
the health risk.

3.4 The Product and Service
There are many healthcare product like adidas MI coach and Garmin heart rate coach which
can monitor peoples heart rate and can collect this data. Our product is a mobile

application which is a combination of process result and instruction. This application can
collect the data from MI coach or heart rate coach, and then send it to the real doctor! And
the doctor can give the feedback to our customer immediately!

3.5 Suppliers and Partners
Supplier:
1. Software company: we need the software company help us to developing the mobile application. And
supply the system maintenance regularly.
2. Medical institution: we need the medical institutions doctor provide the health service. We need
them analysis our customers data and give the feedback.

Partner:
1. MI coach and Garmin heart rate watch: this company can provide us their
customers health data, and we can provide them a good feedback to their
customers, so they can attractive more people to buy their products. Also our
applications can have more customers.

2. Government: Because of that Health problem is a major issue globally government need to spend
more money on the public health (Ahima,& Lazar,2013). New Zealand's weight problem is
gobbling up more than 4 per cent of what we spend on health care, according to a study out today.
That was $624 million, estimated to have been spent on health care for the obese and overweight in
2006. Two-thirds of New Zealand adults are overweight or obese (Johnston, 2012). Our
application can help obesity people to keep fit. Then New Zealand Government can decrease their
cost for the obesity people. This is a good thing to the public. And we also need the public hospital
provide some volunteer doctors to help us to provide the feedback. So New Zealand Government is
our companys partner.
3.6 Strategy: Focused low cost

Competitive Scope: narrow market our customers is only the obesity people who
use MI coach or other heart rate product. The market is not very broad.

Cost Strategy: low cost. the cost of our mobile application is not very high,
because There are 18.5 mmillion software developers in the world(Ranger,2013).
There have many software companies which can provide this service. So the cost is
low.

The overall strategy is therefore Focused low cost.
3.7 Value Chain Acti vity: make the product or service
The most important value chain activity for this business is make the product or
service.
Because only we make this mibile application, and supply the healthcare service, the
customers will pay the money.
3.8 Business Processes
3.8.1. Customers allocating process - This process starts with collection the old
data of the number of customers served in each doctor. When a new customer sign
up, collect the new customers data and send the new data to a doctor. If the doctor
has more than 10 patients, then find a new doctor and send the information to the
new doctor. If the doctor does not have 10 patients. Then send the customers
information to the doctor. If the doctor accepted the offer, the process is end. If the
doctor did not accepted the offer, sent the customers information to another doctor
and repeat the process.

3.8.2. Information collecting Process - This process starts with customers
download the application. Step one is check whether customers has register or not.
If they have not registered, they need register first. If they do not allow getting their
individual information, this process goes to the end. If they agree to upload their
individual information, this information will send to the server and then then server
will deliver their information to the selected doctor. The server and the doctor will
monitor the customers heart rate information. Then this process is end.

3.9.1. Customers allocating process
To keep the number of customers in each doctor is not that much.
To make sure each customer suited to their doctor.

3.9.2. Information collecting Process
To collect the health information from the customer.
To send the information to the doctor and monitor the information

3.10 Systems

3.10.1. Customers division system This system can help our application make sure for
each doctor there will not more than ten patients. At first, it can identify how many patients
the doctor has,and if the doctor has 10 patient already, the system will put the patient to
another doctor who has less than 10 patients.

3.10.2. Patient-doctor association system This system is pointed at ensuring that all of
the patients are qualified in the most associated doctor. Because each doctors are good at
different field. This system will provide the customers individual information to the doctor.
And the doctor will decide are the patient is associated to them. And this will help customer
to find the most associated doctor. So the feedback which the doctor give is more useful.
3.10.3. Information gathering system This system is designed to gathering the data
from our customers. Once they allowded our server collected the data, our server will
receved that. This can protect our customers private information. And they will trust us.

CONCLUSION
In conclusion, the healthcare application industry is not that attracti ve but our
mobile can appl y the doctor service online and this i s very convenient.
There nearly does not have application can provide this service, which i s
the first mover advantage we have.so I think our mobile is very useful and
has a bri ght future.
