FortWayne,IN:Today,wereachedover100,000plusStateandLocalCountypeopleengagedin
supportingourefforts,andwetheleadershipknewitwastrue,ThePeoplewantedchange..
OfficiallyOrganizedApril1,2014,nootherorganizationhasreachedthisgoalinsuchashorttime.
But,witha9%approvalratingfortheUSCongressanda75%supportrateforImposingTermLimitsfor
theUSCongress,ourhighlyfocusedandsingulargoalmakesTermLimitsforUSCongressahighly
probablesuccess,unlikemanyCorporatebackedpartisanapproaches.

Regardingourrecent100,000pluspersonalmilestone,NationalDirectorBobReidsaidThenumber
joiningusaffirmsouroriginalbeliefs.Weareontherightpath.Onethatisveryuniqueanational
grassrootsmovementbythepeopleandforthepeople.WhenwebeginpetitioningnationallyonMay
26th,wewillbeundermanyspotlights.Ourstrongestinitialimpactwillbeinthe38Statesinwhichwe
currentlyhaveteamsinplace,butwewillquicklyspreadtoconsumetheremaining12.

needofameanstooverhaultheUSCongress.Thelevelofdysfunction,disconnect,andcorruptionhas
reachedanalltimehighandthosewiththeprimarymeanstofixtheproblemsarethosewhoaretheroot

Statescanagreeononesubject,bringittoaAmendingConstitutionConvention,voteonit,bringit
backtotheStatesandthen3/4(38)statesratifyit.ItthenbecomesanamendmenttotheUSConstitution

Foundedontwosimpleprinciples:
Thisismorethanrhetoric.Itisfoundedontwosimplepsychologicalprinciples.Studieshaveproventhatthe
likelihoodofsuccumbingtotemptationisdirectlyrelatedtothelengthofexposuretotemptation.Studieshave
alsoproventhatthepersonaismoldedbythecontinuousandrepetitiousactionsofourenvironment.Fromthe
momentmembersstepintoCongress,theyenteraworldofunimaginabletemptationandalavishlifestylein
whichtherichandpowerfulcatertotheireveryneed,andthey'renotgoingtowanttoleave.

Overthepast30yearswehaveseenthenumberof
seniormembersintheSenatealone(20yearsand
over)tripleandasthenumberhasincreased,sothe
ideologiesofthetwopartieshavebecome
increasinglypolarized.Theresultisthemost
dysfunctionalCongressinthehistoryofourcountry.

TheVotingSystemaintBroke.It

Thevotingsystemisbroken.Inexitpollsthemajority
ofvotershaveconfessedtovotingbasedonname
recognition,partylines,ormediaexposure.Withthe
namerecognition,thepartylinesupport,andan
averageof7timesthedonationsfromlobbyists,
incumbentsstanda90%orhigherreelectionrate,regardlessoftheirperformance.Instatesanddistrictswith
strongpartycontrol,incumbentsremaininCongressforaslongastheychoose,oftenpassingontheir
Congressionallegacytofamilymembers.Thereisonlyoneoptionremaining.WemustimposeTermLimitson
theUSCongressandwewillneedtodosowithouttheirapproval.

Hasntthisbeendonebefore?
AlthoughthetopicofimposingTermLimitsontheUSCongresshasbeendebatedsincetheinceptionofour
nationandusedasacampaignplatformbymanycandidates,itisnotreasonabletoexpecttheUSCongressto
limittheirpersonalfuturesbypassingsuchlegislation.
Thealternative,whichhasreceivedrecentattention,istheuseofthesecondoptionofArticle5oftheUS
ConstitutiontobypasstheUSCongresstopassAmendmentstotheUSConstitution.
NotalleffortstousethesecondoptionofArticle5arethesameandhereinliethefundamentaldifferencesthat
dramaticallyincreaseourmovementspotentialtosucceed.

Beinganonpartisaneffort,thoseinvolvedarefromeverywalkoflifecrossingallpoliticaldivides.
Themovementhasnoassociationwithanypoliticalparty,specialinterestgroup,lobbyingagency,or
bigbusiness.
ThisisthefirstcoordinatednationalmovementusingconstituentpetitioningtopressureState
LegislaturesintocallingforanArticle5Conventionforasingulartopic.
Thisistheonlynationalmovementthatisfocusingexclusivelyonasingle,nonpartisanAmendment,
whichdrasticallyimprovesthelikelihoodofreceivingthesupportofnotonlythe34Statesneededtocall
aConvention,butthe38StatesneededfortheratificationfollowingtheConvention.
Ratherthanbringingthemediainatanearlystage,wefeltitmorereasonabletoflybelowtheradarwhile
buildingandorganizingthemovementusingsocialnetworkingoverthepastsixmonths,realizingithad
toformalizeitsofficialstatusonApril1,2014.
Todatewehaveover100,000+membersinvolvedattheNationallevelwithmanymoreontheStateand
CountylevelwithteamspreparedtobeginpetitioningacrossthenationonMay26th,MemorialDay.
Witha9%approvalratingfortheUSCongressanda75%supportrateforImposingTermLimitsforthe
USCongress,ourhighlyfocusedandsingulargoalmakeTermLimitsforUSCongressInc.thefirst
realisticopportunityforthePeopleandtheStatestosupercedetheUSCongressandAmendtheUS
ConstitutionwithoutrequiringtheapprovaloftheUSCongress.
