External Thru-Hull Mount
Models: B765LH/LM, B265LH/LM, R109LH/LM, R509LH/LM
Transducer is installed such that the entire transducer is outside the hull. The active face and
sides of the transducer and/or fairing are exposed to seawater. A stem or stuffing tube hole is
drilled in the hull for the transducer cable.
In-Hull Mount
Models: M265LH/LM, R111LH/LM, R599LH/LM
Transducer is installed inside a wetbox/yellow plastic tank inside the hull. This installation
type requires no holes to be drilled in the hull. The active face and the sides of the transducer
are immersed in propylene glycol (non-toxic marine/RV anti-freeze). In hull transducers are
acceptable for solid fiberglass hulls only.
Tank Mount
CM265LH/LM, CM199LH/LM, CM599LH/LM
Transducer is installed in a seawater-filled tank external to the hull. The active face and sides
of the transducer are exposed to seawater inside the tank. A stem or stuffing tube hole is
drilled in the hull for the transducer cable.
Keel Mount
PM265LH/LM, PM111LH/LM, CM599LH/LM
Transducer is installed flush with the outside of the hull, fiberglassed into the keel. The active
face of the transducer is exposed to seawater.
Pocket Mount
PM265LH/LM, PM111LH/LM, CM599LH/LM
Transducer is installed in a pocket formed in the hull such that the transducer is bolted into
the top of the pocket and the active face of the transducer is flush with the outside of the hull
and exposed to seawater.
Transom Mount
TM265LH/LM
Transducer is bolted to the outside of the boat on the transom. The active face of the
transducer must be exposed to seawater while in operation
Low-Profile Thru-Hull Mount
B75L, B75M, B75H, B175L, B175M, B175H
Transducer is installed in a hole drilled through the hull such that the active face of the
transducer is exposed to seawater.
NEW INFORMATION: CHIRP TRANSDUCERS
Installation Supplement: Avoid Overheating
CAUTION: To install a CHIRP transducer in a way other than intended by the manufacturer could lead to
the transducer overheating resulting in transducer failure. Due to the nature of CHIRP technology, CHIRP
transducers generate more heat than traditional tone burst transducers operating at distinct frequencies like 50 and
200 kHz. CHIRP transducers require heat sinks in their construction to dissipate heat. Airmars CHIRP transducers
have been designed to be installed in specific ways according to the number and placement of these heat sinks.
