1. Annual Surveys
In order to fulfill maintenance procedure, annual survey should be arranged as part of survey for
maintenance class. Annual surveys are to be conducted for:
Hull
The main structural elements of the hull are to be subjected to a general visual inspection, as
far as accessible, on the occasion of the annual survey. Cargo holds and engine rooms are to
be surveyed at random, depending on the ship type and the age and condition of the ship. In
the case of suspected damages affecting the Class, the Surveyor is entitled to carry out
further investigations. Suspect areas

Machinery, including the electrical plant
The machinery, including the electrical installations, will be subjected to the following
surveys and operational checks.

Fire Extinguishing & Fire Alarm System
This subject is to control or to be checked the system for fire extinguishing & alarm if there is
accident of fire in the ship.

Bridge Control Stand
On the occasion of the annual survey or during the prescribed annual survey of the safety
equipment onboard ships assigned the class notation NAV-O or NAV-OC, an operational trial
of the relevant equipment is to be performed.

The interval of annual survey is12 months, survey has to be carried out within a time interval of 3
months before to 3 months after the due dates.

In cargo ships of 5,000 tons gross tonnage
less and upwards there shall be a self-
contained emergency source of power

an accumulator (storage) battery capable of
carrying the emergency load without
recharging or excessive voltage drop

All batteries in good order. Specific gravity
of acid, liquid level and terminal voltage

a generator driven by a suitable prime-
mover with an independent fuel supply and
with starting arrangements to the
satisfaction of the Administration.

The fuel used shall have a flashpoint of not
less than 43deg.C (110deg.F)

Electrical Power
The power available shall be sufficient to
supply all those services

emergency lighting at every boat station on
deck and oversides

navigation lights if solely electric, and the
daylight signalling lamp if operated by the
main source of electrical power

The power shall be adequate for a period of
6 hours.
