PROFESSIONAL AND As a pre-service teacher, I have put a large amount of time and energy into creating
PERSONAL GOALS FOR meaningful and high-reaching personal and professional goals. First and foremost, I want
MY INTERSHIP YEAR: to establish an inviting, inspiring, and encouraging classroom community. It is very
important to me that my students feel welcomed and ready to learn when they walk in my
door. I want to instill a drive and desire in my students that will propel them to reach for
those high-expectations I will set and motivate them to work hard and never give up, no
matter how difficult their task may seem. I also want to create a learning environment
that fosters creativity and collaboration. A passion of mine is to integrate technology into
my teaching as a way to fully engage my students. Successful technology integration can
be challenging, but I feel that I am up for that challenge. I believe this will make it
possible for more students to excel in school and in the real world. It will prepare students
with skills and knowledge that are essential foundations for life-long learning. I will
integrate technology not as an end, but as a means to an end. It will support active
engagement, participation, interaction, feedback, and real-world connections that will aid
students in their journey. I have enjoyed working with students of all ages. However, after
spending time in upper elementary, I feel that I could work very well in a fourth, or fifth
grade classroom. I believe that I have really excelled in terms of utilizing higher-level
questioning as a way to involve students, facilitate discussion and inquiry, and push
students to do their best. I’m excited to begin my journey as an elementary school
teacher.
