MADAN MEMORIAL SOCCER TOURNAMENT

PARTICIPANTS: The tournament is open to Bhutanese soccer teams in New York and neighboring
states.
ENTRY FEE: $450 per team plus $51 non-refundable processing fee. At least 50% of the entry fee
must be made upon submitting the registration form by cash or money order payable to Kul Thapa.
Money and registration MUST be received by June 22, 2014. There will be no on-site registration.
No confirmation letters will be sent. Entry fee will not be refunded once the tournament fixture is
drawn. Any team participating in the tournament from outside of New York State will get $50 gift card for
the gas.
TIMES: Match times will be announced with the tournament fixture on June 29
th
. The fixture and any
other updates shall be posted on our Facebook page or on our website www.moonstarclub.com.
LODGING: All visiting teams are responsible for making all lodging arrangements for the team and staff.
Breakfast and lunch will be provided at the venue for team members and coach/managers who are on the
roaster for the day.

PRIZES: The top three finishers will be awarded trophies and cash prize. Participation awards will NOT
be given to non-trophy winners. Awards ceremony will follow the final match on July 6, 2014. A Man of
the Match trophy shall be awarded at each match to the best player selected by the referee and the
Tournament Committee. Two separate awards for Best Player of the Tournament and Highest Goal
Scorer will also be awarded during the final award ceremony on July 6
th
following the final match.
Additionally there will also be an award each for the Best Mid-fielder, Best Wings, Best Defender as well
as best Goalie of the tournament.
LOCATION: All matches will be held at the soccer fields at Veterans Memorial Park, 595 Calkins Road,
Henrietta, NY 14467. The venue is subject to change.
TOURNAMENT RULES:
Each team must submit a Team Roster Form within one week of registration.
Each team may be composed of not more than 18 players.
A match may not start if either team consists of fewer than seven players. Each team will be
allowed no more than 5 players to substitute in each game.
The coaches are responsible for the conduct of their players, club and team officials, and
spectators and shall be subject to disciplinary action from the Tournament Committee for failure
to exercise proper control.
Players, as well as coaches, managers, and team supporters are expected to conduct
themselves within the spirit of the law as well as the letter of the law. Displays of temper or
dissent by word or action against an opponent or Referee are cause for ejection from the game.
Should the Referee eject a player from a game with a red card, the player will be suspended
from that game and the following game. Use of indecent language and gestures shall be ground
for dismissal or disciplinary action at the discretion of the match referee.
Coaches, players, and spectators will not be permitted behind the goal line during the game.
All field dimensions conform to normal standards and rules where possible.

A team shall forfeit the game if it refuses to play after being instructed to do so by the referee. If
the team to which the game is forfeited is ahead, the score at the time of the forfeiture shall stand
The decision of the referee is final and binding. There will be no protests.
Players will not be allowed to participate if they are not in proper uniform (jersey, shorts,
stockings, shin guards, and footwear).
Teams must wear numbers on their shirts. Each player shall have a different number and this
number must be the same as listed on the official Team Roster form.
The colors of a teams jerseys may be different from the color of the teams shorts and/or
stockings. At each game, both teams shall be able to make a change of jersey color. If both
teams are wearing similar colored jerseys, the HOME team shall be required to change.
Goalkeepers shall change jerseys as the referee directs, regardless of home/visitor status.
Shoes must meet FIFA specifications (no exposed metal cleats).
Players wearing splints or casts of any type shall not be eligible to participate in any Tournament
game.
The Tournament Committee reserves the right to make the following changes in the event of
inclement weather: [1] Relocate and/or reschedule a game.
Regardless of weather conditions, coaches and their teams must appear on the playing field
ready to play at the scheduled game time, or forfeit the game.
Team coach/captain are responsible for obtaining permission from parent or guardian of any
players below the age of 18.
Any rules not covered here shall be applied per the official FIFA Laws of the Game.
Location of the game is subject change but will be in the Greater Rochester area.
