ANTONELLA DI GIULIO

Antonella Di Giulio is an outstanding pianist and pedagogue. She regularly performed throughout
Europe for many associations and festivals as a soloist and in different chamber music ensembles. The
German Newspaper Rheinische Post describes her music as performed, Mit ihrer kompetente
Virtuositt, ihrer breit gespannten Expressivitt wie ihrer enormen Klangsensibilitt (with competent
virtuosity, broad expressivity as well as huge sound sensibility).
Since early childhood, Antonella won many national and international competitions. Active as a
performer, her music brought her in very different venues (e.g. RAI Italian television- International
Festival Anzio Petrassi, Messiaen- Kawai Europa Krefeld, RWN Krefeld, A.Gi.Mus., Roma, Circolo
sottoufficiali Bologna, Marigliano, Taranto, Lecce, Campobasso, Klavierwochen Waldkraiburg, Ass. Il
Coretto Bari, Monopoli, Festival Ostra, Ass. Nino Rota Brindisi, Weyden, Bayreuth, Plauen, Geldern,
Mitrovica, Dortmund, Sonsbeck, Windhagen, Kalkar, Bremen, Firenze, Lipsia etc.). She has a particular
interest in contemporary composers. She is recording a CD for a project, Land, in collaboration with
the Italian composer Biagio Putignano.

Antonella is also a dedicated teacher. She has written a music exercise book for preschool children, a
music reading book, and Sequenze libere; additionally she writes for different magazines
(Conservatori.com, Artinsieme, It@lzine).
She holds the position of Artistic Director of numerous workshops. She is founder and director of Opus
Zero, a no-profit the nurtures the love for arts, offering education through the arts to everyone and
opportunities to young performers and artists.
She is often invited as a guest teacher and pianist at different workshops, summer camps, and seminars
(Suzuki Convention in Turin 2006, Italian Suzuki Convention 2009- piano teacher). She specialized in
piano performance with Professor Luigi Mostacci and Carla Giudici with a European Unions fellowship.
She had the possibility to take lessons with a huge number of famous pianists (Oxana Yablonskaya, Paul
Badura Skoda, L. Hoffmann, Marcello Abbado, Aquiles Delle Vigne, Silvana Libardo,Roberto Cappello,
Takaschy Yamazaky, Elza Kolodin, Sergio Fiorentino, Klaus Kauffmann, Walter Blankenheim, and Eugene
Mougilevsky). In Germany, she had lessons with pianists Sontraud Speidel and Michael Rische.
She holds degree from Conservatorio Santa Cecilia in Rome and Accademia Pucciniana in piano
performance. After she moved to the US, she earned a MM in piano performance from SUNY Buffalo,
where she is actually also a PhD candidate in Musicology and Music Theory.
