SAN ANTONIO, TX --This evening, two prominent Texas business leaders announced their support for Senator Leticia Van de Putte to become the next Lt. Governor of Texas.
William Austin Ligon, issued the following statement:
As the co-founder of Car-Max and an angel-stage investor, I know the value entrepreneurs play in driving sustainable economic growth. Leticia Van de Putte understands the needs of small business and entrepreneurs: she owned her own small businessa pharmacyfor years, and her husband, Pete, has owned his family business for years. Leticia is a fighter for small businesses and is the clear choice for Lt. Governor this November." Business leader William Austin Ligon is the co-founder and retired CEO of CarMax. He earned a B.A. in and M.A. from the University of Texas at Austin and an M.B.A. from Yale School of Management.
Louis Barrios, issued the following statement: My mother, Viola Barrios, started Los Barrios Restaurant with $3,000 in an old boat garage in San Antonio. She made many sacrifices in order to raise my sisters and I. I support Leticia Van de Putte for Lt. Governor because she--like my mother--has made many sacrifices not only for her family, but also for entrepreneurs and small business owners. She works hard and cares deeply about Texans. Republican Louis Barrios is a President and CEO of Los Barrios Enterprises in San Antonio. He earned a Bachelor of Business Administration from St. Marys University.
