day is the election day.

of the SWS syndicated out, it
showed that this 56% was reg-
istered in Region III or Cen-
tral Luzon, which is composed
of Tarlac, Pampanga, Nueva
Ecija, Bataan and Zambales
provinces and the cities within.

speaking on condition of ano-
nymity.
Tears of an achiever captain
Tears fell from the eyes of
the otherwise steel-nerved cap-
tain. He lost the ship which he
has nurtured and love like his
wife since he was a third mate.
He rose to the rank of captain
with all his accomplishments
recorded on that vessel.
In an interview with his
relatives, it showed that Cap-
tain Yap was a top performer.
All his licensure examinations
with the Professional Regula-
tions Commission (PRC) are in
the grade of line of 90, or 90
plus.
In all his trainings and
schoolings, he graduated either
as No. 1 or No. 2.
He stacked up his career
built on inspiration.
He was inspired to take up
a seaman’s course because he
was moved by the example
shown to him by Captain
Gutang, his uncle, brother of
his mother. Actually, Yap’s
three other siblings are seamen
now because they have been
proud of their uncle.
Ironically, when Captain
Yap sailed off from the Port of
Makar in General Santos City,
the pilot captain there was his
uncle.
And his uncle, according to
their relatives, would be the
first to stop the boat from sail-

a total net worth of P76.53,
still an increase of a little over
P2 million.
In Dec 2005, for the first
time, Arroyo declared P61.8
million in liabilities. But his
real properties rose to P76.5
million. There was a slight re-
duction of his personal as-
sets. His net was P76.95 mil-

Reasons why Noynoy is sure
winner
Only the premature death of
Noynoy can stop him from be-
coming the 15th President of
the Philippines. Now 15th if
we consider the presidency of
Arroyo as legitimate, otherwise
Noynoy will be the 14th Presi-
dent.
Nevertheless, I conclude he
is a sure winner because of the
following reasons:
(a) The public is con-
vinced he will never commit
corruption as her mother did;
(b) There is no other
presidential timber who has the
image of being “super” incor-
ruptible as Noynoy;
(c) The only major issue
in the 2010 elections is how to
stop and rid corruption;
(d) The other issues as
to skills in governance have
been rendered a non-issue;
(e) The extremely big
initial support given by the
people from all walks of life;
(f) The unprecedented
massive and series of corrup-
tion scandals have saturated
the minds of every Filipino that
each of us have come to a firm
resolve, “enough is enough”;
(g) The decision to give
to the tenants all his shares in
the storied Hacienda Luisita;
(h) The decision to con-
vince the rest of the Cojuangco
family to give up Hacienda
Luisita to the tenants who de-
serve it;
(i) He is supported by a
major and grand old political
party;
(j) He is supported by
other political parties;
(k) He is supported by
cause-oriented groups; and
(l) He is supported by
persons most or all of whom
have no questions of impropri-
ety.
Public is convinced Noynoy
will never commit corruption
The public is convinced
that Senator Noynoy will never
ever commit corruption.
First, the public is con-
vinced that a good tree will
never bear a bad fruit. With this
strong traditional belief,
Noynoy can take comfort
riding on the belief without it
fading out until the day the
people vote on May 10, 2010.
Ninoy has been enjoying
the image as having extremely
high degree of honesty in pub-
lic service. His wife Cory also
has been enjoying the reputa-
tion as an incorruptible presi-
dent—in addition to her ab-
sence of greed as manifested by
her refusal to run for a second
term as president when every-
thing was at her disposal; con-
trary to the petite woman who
promised by Jose Rizal’s grave
she would not seek new office
only to desecrate the honor of
the Filipino.
As such, Noynoy holds the
edge as being known to be a
fruit from not only a good
tree—but extremely good tree
in terms of honesty and lack of
greed.
Second, Noynoy has not
been reported to have commit-
ted any form of corruption in
all his nine-year life as a con-
gressman of Tarlac and almost
six years as a senator. With this,
he firmed up further the good-
tree argument for him.
Third, he cannot afford to
destroy the extremely good and
very rare legacy established by
his parents.
In fact this legacy is the best
argument why he will never dip
into corruption.
Can he afford to lose this
legacy by gaining money in the
amount of at least 20 billion
pesos?
I argue he cannot.
This legacy is priceless. It
cannot be bought even by 100
billion of pesos.
If he does otherwise, there
will be no more tomorrow for
his succeeding generations.
Look at what happened to
Marcos. His son and daughter
cannot go beyond winning
election in their locality. His
wife, Imelda, can only win in
her district in Leyte. The same
fate will befall surely on the
heirs of Gloria Arroyo.
This is so because his fa-
ther, the late Senator Ninoy
Aquino, has proven to the
people that the latter is incor-
ruptible.
The father accepted torture
for seven years in prison in ex-
change for losing all the bribes
and promises of material for-
tunes dangled on him by the
late strongman Ferdinand E.
Marcos.
Not only that, Ninoy even
never minded the actual threat
of death waiting for him in the
Philippines as soon as he
would step out of the plane
from the United States of
America.
Warned of the impending
assassination, Ninoy replied:
“The Filipino is worth dying
for.”
At that time, Ninoy went
into a virtual suicide without
seeing any personal, family and
material benefit. It was not
clear whether offering his life
would bring goodness to the
nation. To the contrary, clear to
his eyes were untold miserable
consequences to her virtually-
unknown wife, Corazon, and
his children. He knew his death
would leave his children fend-
ing for themselves and even de-
prive his small children of a
better life he could have given
if he only accepted the millions
ready for his taking from the
hands of Marcos.
No other ‘presidentiable’ has
reputation solid as Noynoy
Another reason that the vot-
ers will prefer to stick with
Noynoy is that there is no other
presidential timber having a
reputation “super” incorrupt-
ible as Noynoy.
His closest opponent, Sena-
tor Villar cannot claim he has
that clean slate .
Villar has also been
haunted by allegations of land
grabbing in his subdivision
business. Now, he is facing an
ethics investigation in the Sen-
ate for causing the approval of
a budget for a major road in
Sucat, benefiting his subdivi-
sion projects.
This, despite the fact that
Villar has been listed by Forbes
Magazine as the No. 9 richest
person in the Philippines.
Estrada, who is the next
closer possible opponent, was
convicted of plunder but was
pardoned by Arroyo.
Erap is no doubt so popu-
lar but this popularity cannot
be converted into votes be-
cause of the lingering effect of
his conviction from plunder.
The only way for this effect to
be negated was squandered:
which is to fight for his acquit-
tal in the Supreme Court.
The image of Erap further
got a beating anew when Sena-
tor Panfilo Lacson delivered a
privileged speech revealing
that during the latter’s time as
the chief of the national police,
the former president was giv-
ing direct orders to subordinate
police officers, including Sr.
Supt. Michael Ray Aquino and
Supts. Caesar Mancao and
Glenn Dumlao.
Lacson was trying to lay
down a foundation that it was
possible that there was a per-
son other than him who could
have ordered the liquidation of
publicist Salvador “Bubby”
Dacer and the latter’s driver
Emmanuel Corbito.
Senator Francis “Chiz”
Escudero also enjoys a reputa-
tion as another incorruptible
official, but the time seems not
favoring him. However, there
are sprinkles of issues coming
out from his native Sorsogon
that he has not done any good
in his district there in the en-
tire nine years that he was the
congressman there.
Vice-President Noli is also
suffering from the stigma of
Arroyo. In all the crises beset-
ting the Arroyo administration,
particularly the “Hello Garci”
scandal of tampering the votes,
De Castro openly sided with
her.
The acts of Noli in sticking
to Arroyo until the last days of
this petite woman in the presi-
dency caused a debilitating ef-
fect on him. The preference for
him then as No. 1 in the sur-
veys has been sliced down to
less than a third.
The other “presidentiables”
do not have the fire and pas-
sion to convince the public
they are also incorruptible.
Corruption is the only issue in
2010 elections; skills and
platforms in governance do
not matter
The only consideration of
the greater majority of the Fili-
pinos is: who is the candidate
who is most likely not to steal
from the government or earn
profit using the government or
its power.
This will of the greater ma-
jority is reflected on the first
survey of the SWS that in-
cluded Noynoy.
As shown above, more than
50% of the respondents sur-
veyed by SWS said they will
vote for Noynoy as president
if the elections were held to-
day.
It is undisputable that these
voices did not see that Noy
would be a good economist, or
good manager of the govern-
ment, or an intellectual, or one
who can deliver millions of
jobs, or one who can bring in
investments, or one who can
solve rebellion and secession,
or one who knows the law.
If that is so, why half of

By the process of elimina-
tion of possibilities that cannot
be possible, we would be left
of only one. That is only one,
but that is the strongest point
for it is the clamor of almost
all.
This only criterion is: HE
IS THE CLEANEAST IN
TERMS OF CORRUPTION
RECORD.
So that if half the people
want him even if he has no pro-
found expertise in governance,
there is no other reason that
they want him: HIS HON-
ESTY.
And if it is so, the only is-
sue that matters most is: WHO
IS THE MOST HONEST?
The only reason we can see
why these respondents acted
this way is the series of corrup-
tion scandals plaguing the Ar-
royo administration.
The level of corruption in
every office of the government
has gone so high and has never
been equaled in any other times
of our history.

of the US property did not
specify the location or the kind
of property.
In July 2007, his real prop-
erty declaration drastically
dropped to P27 million, repre-
senting only his four real prop-
erties in the Philippines and the
US property was no longer re-
flected. His personal wealth,
however, jumped to P115.88
million and the listed liabilities
were worth P49.77 million,
giving him a total net worth of
P93.11 million. The personal
properties included cash on
hand, cash in bank, pieces of
jewelry and clothes.
It is noteworthy also that in
Dec 2007, his real property re-
mained steady at P27 million.
The amount was a huge drop
from his previous year ’s
record. But there was also a
surprising increase in his per-
sonal assets at P127.97 million.
Arroyo listed P58.22 million in
liabilities, giving him a total of
P96.75 million net worth, a
little over P3 million more than
in 2006. It was also in 2007
when he declared shares of
stocks of around P25 million,
properties.
Despite the young Arroyo’s
defense that the Foster City
property was used as a capital
for the incorporation of Beach
Way Park LLC (Limited Li-
ability Corporation), it should
show that the value of the
house converted to shares of
stocks, the deducted amount
from his real property should
be equal to the amount of in-
crease in his personal property
following the conversion.
Arroyo failed to declare the
details on how his US real
property was delisted from his
2007 SALN and how the in-
corporation of Beach Way Park
LLC was conducted. He also
did not identify the incorpora-
tors behind, thus eliciting criti-
cisms from the viewers of

captain’s wife
After going through the tip

found, Captain Yap’s ship
would turn right again going
east, tracing by Zamboanga del
Norte shores, never knowing
that the ship’s end was coming
near.
In that area the ship listed
heavily at 3:15 in the morning
of September 6, 2009.
At 4:00 a.m, it was learned
from the relatives of the cap-
tain that Yap called his wife,
Mrs. Claudette Mosquito Yap,
a newly-resigned bank man-
ager who had set her eyes on
finishing her law school in one
of the universities in
Dumaguete City.
Relatives said that Mrs. Yap
narrated to them that while she
had already readied herself for
any eventualities attendant to
her husband’s work as a sea-
man, she was awakened by a
cellular phone ring at an un-
holy hour.
Captain Yap had not done
calling on sleeping time. But
that call, Mrs. Yap narrated to
her relatives, simply struck her
in shock, thinking it was the
time that she had feared about
the most.
As she answered the phone,
her relatives claimed, Mrs. Yap
did not even talk. She just lis-
tened to her husband.
She listened while her hus-
band was telling her: “Ga,
nag-abandon ship ko, bahala
ka na sa mga bata ha…”
This was the last and only
call of her husband that day.
Waiting for news with
suspense
As soon as Mrs. Yap recov-

soil and stones, causing the
river to be shallow and narrow,
risking them whenever comes
the naturally big volume of
flow during flood season.
The natural size of the
passageway of any river sug-
gests that it is the result of the
biggest volume of water that
has flowed through since
time immemorial. To alter the
size is to go against nature.
And if that big flood comes
and the river has become nar-
row and shallow, the flowing
water will find a road for it
to continuously flow and it

river and prayed a lot for her
husband to survive, knowing
that he had been telling her re-
peatedly that whenever his ship
would sink, the captain must be
the last to leave if--he can still
leave.
One thing more she could
not forget about her husband,

From then on, relatives said
that Claudette stayed wide
awake, craving for every
newsbit that would come to
know what happened to her
husband.
‘My captain, my hero’
She knew she cannot live
on earth without her husband.
That was because she re-
signed from her work as the
manager of a bank in
Dumaguete in her desire to
give full time to their four chil-
dren and focus on her law
studies. She had completed
second year and she intended
to graduate to become a law-
yer.
What made her decide to
resign really is that she had
strong faith in his husband,
whom she loves to call: “My
captain, my hero!”
She was too confident and
secured with her husband who
has showered her all the love
he has known on earth.
They had simple dreams:
To give good education to their
children to secure their future.
They did not want to enrich
materially, otherwise her hus-
band could have gone overseas
shipping.
Dreams to nightmare

But this simple dream be-
came a nightmare this time for
Mrs. Yap, a scholar who gradu-
ated from Mindanao State Uni-
versity-Marawi, College of
Business Administration.
One thing more that
gripped her mind was that
when her husband would die,
she would be compelled to find
work again and be left alone in
raising their children.
She was not ready to accept
it.
Then came the news her
husband’s life craft was no-
where to be found. Again, the
hope in Mrs. Yap turned into
grief. She cried anew.
Her sons, too, were so tight-
ened by trauma due to the trag-
edy befalling on their father.
The captain’s children be-
came the object of all eyes in
their community. The pervading
mood amongst the people there
was only a blame for the cap-
tain. The children felt as if the
whole community was blaming
the tragedy on their father.
Nevertheless, a piece of
good news came when the life
craft of her husband was found
and he was—and is—alive.
Best record of least deaths
After all the rescue efforts
were called off, it turned out
that the said tragedy has placed
a new record or unparalleled
achievement on the part of
Captain Yap. He is No. 1 again.
His tragedy became one
that has the least casualty in
history in terms of human
deaths in times of shipwreck.
If the people would look at
the incident in this positive
mode, what happened could be
one of the greatest lessons on
how to save lives at sea in times
of distress.
The relatives said that if
only not for those who pan-
icked, there could have been no
chairs the Province’s com-
mittees on public works and
highways and land use zon-
ing, urban and rural develop-
ment.
It was learned that
Advincula is a close friend of
Profriends’ top official.
They are also complaining
about the noise caused by this
plant.
According to them, the
sound of stones caused them
to loss much-needed sleep
and irritates them every

They said they have al-

their developer but the same

tain tried his best to ensure that
the disembarking is orderly so
that nobody is left behind.
It was said that the cap-
tain quickly organized aban-
donment procedures that
were orderly but fast enough
to beat the time when the
boat finally sinks to the bot-
tom of the sea.
Beating bigger tragedy in the
nick of time
It was learned from rela-
tives that the captain revealed
to them that it was really very
difficult to decide whether to
call for an abandonment of ship
or not.
The relatives added that the
captain recalled that if he were
late in declaring abandonment of
ship, almost all passengers would
sink to death, including him.
A ten-minute delay would
spell a total disaster, they
claimed.
With this thought in her
mind, the relatives said that
Mrs. Yap can now afford to
laugh out loud in front of the
community, proud that her hus-
band has achieved nobody
would ever have done if placed
under similar situation.
We have seen the recent M/
V Princess of the Stars that
tumbled upside down. Nearly
a hundred perished in that in-
cident.
We have seen M/V Princess
of the Orient, where nearly a
hundred also died.
We have seen the worst in
the world, the M/V Doña Paz
tragedy, which killed 4,000
people aboard after colliding
with M/T Vector tanker.
It was an accident
Relatives said that the cap-
tain confessed to them that
peatedly.
Where are the trees?
Another complaint of
residents is that the subdivi-
sion has no trees. Not one has
been planted thus far.
That is although Carmona
has an ordinance requiring
subdivision developers to
plant trees as a condition of
their permits and licenses.
Residents said that failure
to comply with this require-
ment is a cause for revoca-
tion of permits and licenses
to operate as a developer.
The development works
of Profriends have been con-
tinuing although it has al-
ready completed several sub-
division projects here.
However, residents
claimed, they have yet to see
a tree to be planted.
The present projects of
Profriends, according to its
website, www.profriends.com,
whose main office is at 55
Tinio St., Addition Hills,
Mandaluyong City, include
those being done inside
Carmona Estate, which are
Cedar, Kinnari Village Phases
1–9 and Amandala.
So that if they can find
Mayor Loyola, residents
what happened was not a re-
sult of negligence.

authorities

These residents said that
if they cannot find Mayor
Loyola, they will use their
power of the ballot against
him and Provincial Board
Member Advincula if the
latter runs again this May of
2010.
Grim future for captain’s
family, kids
Right now, relatives said,
Claudette has to deal with how
to pay for their house and lot
loan and chattel mortgage for
their family car.
“How can I pay these? I
have no job. I have to pay for
the tuition of our children in a

HAVE you ever won-
dered why the people are not
protesting and storming
Malacañang notwithstanding
the catalogue of scandals it
has wreaked? Are the people
still in a sleeping mode and
do not seem to care with what
is happening with GMA’s un-
resolved issues of corrup-
tions?
It is quite expected that
the Department of (In)Justice
would turn a blind eye on
P723-million fertilizer ’s
scam perpetrated by
President’s men. The scam’s
proceeds presumptively went
to campaign for her chosen
congressmen and senators in
the 2007 mid-term elections.
The irony of all is that Joc-
joc Bolante, the main archi-
tect of the corruption, is a
freeman and has a gall to
challenge the public to sue
him. He even announced he
will run for congressman in
Capiz, the hometown of
Senator Mar Roxas. Fertilizer
scam is a monumental insult to
the people’s intelligence. A
Makati congressional district
received an allocation of said
fund. It’s really a joke, but not
a funny one. I cannot under-
stand why we us people did not
raise a howl when this was un-
covered?
Equally colossal is the
P503-million North Rail
Project. This project stinks to
high heavens. Chinese govern-
ment official once made a re-
mark that he cannot understand
Filipino people. Revitalizing
and resurrecting train system
from Tutuban to Bicol is an
ideal project. It is long over-
due and would benefit hun-
dreds of thousands of commut-
ers. The Chinese was willing
to finance this project but Phil-
ippine officials still demanded
personal pecuniary benefits.
I’ve got a clue why the Office
of the Ombudsman would not
take initiative in investigation
‘Sue me!’ family
and filling graft cases on this
project. But I cannot under-
stand why we us people did not
raise a howl when this was un-
covered?
I have long suspected that the
First Gentleman and the Presi-
dent would not be indicted in the
$329-million NBN-ZTE aborted
deal before the Sandiganbayan.
It makes sense that as long as we
have Merceditas Gutierrez at the
helm of Ombudsman her illus-
trious classmate would have
boldness to challenge everybody
to bring him to court, in his own
words “sue me.” This must be
the reason his son, Mikey, also
challenged everybody to sue him
on his suspicious sworn State-
ments of Assets, Liabilities and
Networth (SSALNs). But I can-
not understand why we us
people did not raise a howl when
this was uncovered?
Well, there were sporadic
public protests and emotional
outrages spearheaded and ini-
tiated by cause-oriented
groups, civil society, NGOs
and churches. The public also
resorts to other forms or av-
enues of expressions of dis-
content. Famous of which is
the Text Power and Internet
Blogs.
But there have been no
widespread movements or
concerted efforts on the part
of the general public to show
its abhorrence to this present
dispensation in no uncertain
terms. I cannot understand our
capacity to flagellate ourselves
against the misdeeds of our
leaders.
In the light of all these
charges of graft and corrup-
tion and the audacity of politi-
cal leaders to insult our being,
I have yet to see a true public
outrage. The one that would
make our public officials think
twice before they steal from
government coffers.
A wrong with us is we sur-
rendered our fate to the hands
of our political leaders. We
have resigned to the idea that
it is alright for our leaders to
lord over us and steal our hard
earned money. We have al-
lowed ourselves to be abused
by the very leaders we elected
to office. We forget that all
governmental powers come
from us. The people should be
educated that the power of de-
mocracy lies not with our lead-
ers but with us, the people.
People exercise democracy not
only during election, but also
beyond. People’s participation
continues as long as the 1987
Constitution exists.
Recently, Congressman
Mikey, son of PGMA no less,
was caught with his hands in-
side the cookie jar when he de-
clared in front of a national tele-
vision station that his wealth
came from campaign contribu-
tions and wedding gifts.
It’s pathetic and ridiculous
how he looked in TV. How he
grappled for words and how he
tried but failed to prove he is
innocent.
Mikey’s answers to ques-
tions asked by Mareng Winnie
Monsod and Arnold Clavio
show his level of intelligence.
This television episode cre-
ated a backlash not only in tra-
ditional expressions of protests
but much more in the YouTube
where people feel free to ex-
press their feelings and emo-
tions expressed by unprint-
able comments.
Feeling the heat, this
spoiled brat now sings a dif-
ferent tune. He now wants us
to believe his wealth almost
doubled and he can now af-
ford to buy a house in
America because his wife,
Angela, is rich.
He is not satisfied after in-
sulting our intelligence. He
added insult to the injury
when Congressman Arroyo
of Pampanga now challenges
us all, in the same passionate
manner of his father, the First
Gentleman, to sue him. Eat
your heart out, people. “Sue
me!”

Truth to tell. What the Arroyo clan must think of because
they are being given a different kind of protection them given
by Gutierrez?
The Arroyo clan is not being spared from controversy but
burned before the public! Ay sus...
Why should Gutierrez issue a memorandum circular to make
it difficult for the people to get a copy of sworn Statements of
Assets, Liabilities and Net Worth (SALN)?
‘E, is it not a PUBLIC DOCUMENT?
Does Gutierrez think that even her appointment as
Ombuds(wo)man is in itself questionable because the public
knows that she and First Gentleman Mike Arroyo are class-
mates and she is one of those close to his family?
Now that the “hidden” wealth of President’s son and
Pampanga Rep. Mikey Arroyo has been made open to the pub-
lic she has issued the SALN circular?
What does she prove? Is it that she was placed in the posi-
tion to protect the officials of the government most of whom
have crooked SALN?
Now that the elections are near, it should have been that the
Ombudsman orders all those who want to run to file first their
SALN.
First, my grapevines suggest that the SALN of the graft-
ridden agencies should also be made public because many have
become rich in those places, like the Department of Public
Works and Highways (DPWH), Bureau of Customs (BoC),
Bureau of Internal Revenues (BIR), Department of Health
(DoH), Department of Education (DepEd), Department of En-
vironment and Natural Resources (DENR), Department of
Agrarian Reform (DAR), and other government agencies where
the quickly-enriching officials are questionable.
Let’s be honest. The SALNs of these officials are crooked
that they either hide or declared properties, but in the latter
case it is not explained how the rise in wealth became legal.
Of course, it is not that we do not want the lives of our
officials to make better, but the issue here is they enriched them-
selves in exchange for the interests of the public that they should
serve first. Ika nga e, Public Office is a Public Trust.
So why should government officials worry about the public
seeing their SALN? If there is nothing wrong with where there
money began, they should let their SALNs be scrutinized by
the public.
In comparison, why should you be guilty if the sources of
your wealth are clean?
Government officials should be happy that it is only their
SALNs that are being asked by the public. What about if the
public now wants your SLN (Sumalangit Nawa), which is
anothe term for RIP or requiem in pace or rest in peace?
Can you do it?

And as expected, he is supported by all his family mem-

Besides Kris, Noynoy is also being supported by other sis-
ters, Ballsy, Pinky and Viel. We can also expect the support of
his cousins, particularly Rapa Lopa, the favorite nephew of his
mother.
And as USUAL, we also expect many other characters who
will follow and stoke NOYNOY in the next few days. That is the
character of political gadflies, follow and whisper you whereever
you go like having scum in their heads.
We know that are the targets of this political gadflies, to stay
in the company until the Malacañang for them to be given posi-
tions.
And if they would not be listened to, they will be the first to
destroy the person.

The BLOGGERS are wondering why the Cavite Senator are
not calling in CHAVIT SINGSON to a Senate inquiry into the
beating of his live-in lover Rachel „Che” Tiongson, who is the
mother of Chavit’s five children?
In the case of HAYDEN KHO’s assault on the honor of
KATRINA HALILI, they said Senator Revilla even played a
hero’s role when he caused Hayden to appear in the Senate.
So many women groups reacted sharply against the machosism
shown by by CHAVIT.
What irked the women was when Chavit declared on televi-
sion that he is even a good guy because he did not kill Che Tionson
although he caught her red-handed in the company of her BOY-
FRIEND!
Che however insisted she and her boyfriend were only hav-
ing a dinner and that she and Chavit were already separated.
Lawyers have expressed that CHAVIT is incorrect in his de-
fense because he is not married to CHE. As such, he does not
have any right to hurt the woman. (I am wondering: kapag kasal
ba ’e merong karapatan na SAKTAN ng lalaki ang babae?)

The last one that tasted the bullying of CHAVIT is
Malacañang.
After he was told to “behave” he shot back: “Fire me, don’t

go if only the myth of this CAVITEÑO in Senator BONG calls

That is the question waking us up last week as seen by the
barrage of text messages sent to my cellular phone.
This is in connection with the exposed hidden wealth of
President’s son and Pampanga Congressman Juan Miguel
“MIKEY” Arroyo.
The incision into the wealth of Mikey started after Vera Files
exposed the wealth of Cong. Mikey, particularly his $1.32-mil-
lion (P63.7-million) house at 1655 Beach Park Blvd., Foster
City, San Mateo County, California, USA, and more particu-
larly after it was learned that in August of 2006 he caused the
transfer of the name of the said luxury property to the name of
his wife Angela Arroyo Montelibano – Arroyo.
Aside from the Beach Park Blvd. Mansion, Mikey also ad-
mitted he bought other property that he transferred to his wife’s
name and sold again.
In the records of San Mateo County Assessor’s Office, the
Arroyo (Mikey) couple bought in September of 2005 a three-
bedroom unit at the Manors Condominiums at 805 Mendocino
Way, Redwood City for the price of $900,000.
This Redwood property was transferred to the name of An-
gela and sold in December 2006 for the price of $880,000.
In our country, it is a rotten practice of government officials
to to buy property and transfer it to the names of their wives.
In 2002, it is written in the SALN of Cong. Mikey that he
had a total of P5.7 million net worth. In 2005, his networth
jumped to P74.4 million. It further balooned to P99.2 million
networth in 2008.
As vice governor of Pampanga, Mikey was only receiving a
salary of P15,180 up to P16,275 every month under Salary
Grade 28.
And as a tongressman ‘este’ congressman, he receives
P35,000 a month or P420,000 every year.
The first reasons given by Mikey why his wealth jumped
were he had excess from contributed campaign funds and gifts
given to him during his marriage with Angela Arroyo
Montelibano.
One more accusation against Cong. Mikey is that why he
did not include in his SALN these real properties.
To this, Cong. Mikey answered that under the law, it is still
allowed to correct the errors.

linking the First Gentleman,
his brother Rep. Ignacio Ar-
royo and his son Rep. Mikey
to monthly protection money
from gambling lords all over
the country.
Almost all citizens know
the P750-million fertilizer
fund scam presided over by
FG’s friend Joc-Joc Bolante.
Almost all citizens know noth-
ing happened here and no one
has been punished despite the
fact that it led to the assassina-
tion of whistleblower broad-
caster-journalist Marlene
Esparat.
Almost all citizens know
the IMPSA deal where Rep.
Mark Jimenez was reported to
have given a bribe of $2 mil-
lion to Hernando Perez,
Arroyo’s Justice secretary. Al-
most all citizens know that af-
ter more than two years crimi-
nal charges were filed by the
Ombudsman against Perez,
which the latter took advantage
of by invoking right to speedy
disposition of the case as a
ground for acquittal. Of course
almost all citizens know that
the Ombudsman purposely sat
on the said case to give Perez
a ground for freedom from im-
prisonment.
Almost all citizens know
that the North Rail Project was
overpriced yet it was pursued,
with the Housing agency
chaired by Vice-President Noli
implementing the plan to evict
the squatters on the railways.
Almost all citizens know
that the Cyber Education
project of the Department of
Education was overpriced.
Almost all citizens know
that the $329-million NBN-
ZTE project was overpriced,
leading whistleblowers Jun
Lozada and Joey De Venecia
III to expose the same. Almost
all citizens know the famous
line of then Comelec chair Ben-
jamin Abalos to NEDA chief
Romulo Neri, “Sec, may 200
ka dito.” Almost all citizens
know that the Ombudsman ac-
quitted First Gentleman from
this scandal despite that famous
line: “BACK OFF!,” which
was uttered by FG to Joey De
Venecia. Almost all citizens
know that Gloria Arroyo was
acquitted with shallow invoca-
tion of immunity from suit.
Almost all citizens know
the Jose Pidal privileged
speech of Senator Panfilo
Lacson, exposing FG as the
Jose Pidal who bought property
for the First Couple in the US.
Almost all citizens know how
FG was saved by his loyal
brother Iggy Arroyo, owning
up that he is actually Jose Pidal
and not FG.
Almost all citizens know that
the P1-billion money of OFWs
in OWWA was transferred to
Philhealth for those Philhealth
cards bearing the picture of
Gloria. Almost all citizens know
that Philhealth now is bankrupt
and needing for funds to be put
back to life anew.
The list is long that all the
corruption cannot fit this space.
A few things are clear, how-
ever. Corruption incidents are
aplenty. Those involved as
front-actors are absolved in
some. In other scandals, not
one case has been filed. These
are the very reasons that are
more than enough for the
people to be fed up and shout:
“ENOUGH IS ENOUGH.”
This shout, for sure, will be
done through the ballots be-
cause we are the silent type of
people.
With this and the poverty
plaguing in almost all families,
the people’s attention is con-
sumed by anger and they are
focused only on who can give
deliverance from these acts
where the only cure is honesty.
What we see now is only
one: HONESTY IS THE
ONLY POLICY.
Extraordinary initial support
for Noynoy & support from
major political groups
No one has matched the
survey rating of Noynoy. Not
even Erap during his prime.
Not even Fernando Poe whose
best was at 30%.
Comparing to the best rater
thus far in FPJ, there is no
question that the rating of 50%
for Noynoy is “super best.”
Eillen Tordesillas, one of
those in Vera Files who wrote
the exposes on Mikey Arroyo,
called the survey rating of
Noynoy as “tsunami.” We may
call it in Tagalog as: “Delubyo.”
If FPJ started out at 30% of
survey rating just before he de-
clared he was running for presi-
dent and everybody agrees he
was the winner of the 2004
presidential race if not for
Comelec Commissioner
Virgilio Garcillano, with more
reason that Noynoy will win
with 50% survey grade even
before he announced he would
run for president.
If all kinds of attacks were
hurled against Fernando Poe Jr.
yet he won, although unoffi-
cially, with more reason that
Noynoy can survive the storm
of attacks, that would include
the Hacienda Luisita issue.
Many may disagree but I
argue that what is important for
Noynoy is he has extremely
high moral edge over all other
candidates in order for him to
win the 2010 elections.

This is so because it is much
easier to maintain than to build
up support with only a few days
away from election day.
Comparing to FPJ, Noynoy
has relatively clean baggage.
Hence, Noynoy will have no
much problem bringing his cam-
paign until the Vote Day. Added
to this, the issue of possession
of minimum college education
is not an issue with Noynoy, who
graduated with AB economics
from the Ateneo de Manila Uni-
versity. Moreover, skills and
platforms of government are not
much of an issue.
By the time his supporters
from cause-oriented groups
have consolidated and started
campaigning, whatever that
would be wasted along the way
would be quickly recovered.
By this time, the Liberal
Party will have already ac-
quired reinvigoration to lead
the charge in the main cities
and provinces.
By this time, the party of
another statesman, Raul Roco,
will have already gained steam
to push for him.

Estrada was in contact with
other PNP officials other than
him.
Likewise, he said Estrada
allowed an illegal shipment
of rice from Vietnam to enter
the country.
He also claimed that
Estrada used his “contacts” in
the PNP to harass the
Yuchengco family into sell-
ing their stakes in various
businesses to another busi-
nessman and a known
Estrada ally, Manuel
Pangilinan.
All these allegations, ob-
servers said, were aimed at
proving Lacson’s innocence
on the Dacer-Corbito case by
laying out a foundation that
it was notonly him who could
issue orders to PAOCTF and
other PNP officials and
agents.
And if it is so, it will cre-
ate doubt as to whether it was
the senator who issued the
orders to kill Dacer and
Corbito.
The speech was delivered
in response to the former
President’s accusation that
Lacson “supervised” Opera-
tion Delta that sought to neu-
tralize Dacer.
The operation was first
disclosed by former PAOCTF
official Cesar Mancao, who
likewise claimed that Estrada
knew about the plan.

pool players in the world—
he is a living legend.
He again dominated the
game, in tandem with his
compadre Francisco
“Django” Bustamante, as
they cruised through a dra-
matic, come-from-behind
victory over the German pair
of Ralf Souquet and Thorsten
Hohman.
The win in that final

World Cup of Pool awed and
held in bated breath the scene
crowd and the millions of
viewers the other Sunday at
the SM North Mall Annex in
Quezon City with an 11-9
score.
The “Magician” as they
called him treated them with
“magical” games of pool as
Bata and Django alternately
showed their artistry on the
table.
Both teams displayed
awesome skills under pres-
sure and both had the chance
to bag the title but the Fili-
pino pair, who proved to be
steadier at the clutches.
The Bata-Django team
delivered what mattered most
in the last racks to win the
tournament.
The tension gripped the
audience and the boob tube
viewers right from the start.
Reyes and Django took a
good start to clip the first
three racks to the delight of
the crowd.
In the fourth,
Bustamante’s break was ad-
judged illegal.
This gave Germany a
push-back to place the Fili-
pino crowd in intense, high-
