ABOUT OUR PROFESSIONAL BUSINESS FRATERNITY

Purpose

“Delta Sigma Pi is a professional fraternity organized to foster the study of business in

universities; to encourage scholarship, social activity and the association of students for
their mutual advancement by research and practice; to promote closer affiliation between
the commercial world and students of commerce, and to further a higher standard of
commercial ethics and culture and the civic and commercial welfare of the community.”

About our Chapter

Omicron Sigma Chapter at the University of California, San Diego was established on May
22, 2004. Our organization is comprised of collegiate students striving to cultivate applied
business practice on campus through project management and financing to provide a
platform for an intimate business network of the best students on campus and matching
them with esteemed employers. We are a corporate recruiting advertising consulting entity
specialized in the practice of coordinating and promoting professional development
seminars, corporate recruitment events as well as philanthropic services at the University
of California, San Diego. We model our organization similarly to corporations to foster our
personal professional development. Through the funds derived from our sponsors/grantors,
we will finance our chapter expenses and in the future, investment portfolio as well as our
chapter endowment fund. The chapter managed investment portfolio will help finance long-
term chapter operations. The endowment fund will then finance scholarships and grants to
aspiring individuals as well as donate to philanthropic endeavors.

Our Goals

1) First and foremost, we are interested in fostering relations between students and
the professional business world, thus providing a venue for companies to recruit
the best talent on campus.

2) Secondly, through our business model we intend to provide a platform for students
to become educated through practical business experience in the many avenues of
professional development.

3) Finally, we intend to utilize the acquired funds from our corporate sponsors to
capitalize the Omicron Sigma Chapter Investment Portfolio as well as allocate
corporate donations to the Omicron Sigma Endowment Fund through the Delta
Sigma Pi Leadership Foundation. We hope to capitalize our funds with a combined
$10,000.00 in assets by the start of fall quarter of 2008. Through the returns
garnered from our performance we will provide scholarships and awards to
outstanding individuals and organizations that display attributes of leadership,
academic merit, professionalism and philanthropy.

SPONSORSHIP
Through your corporate sponsorship package options outlined below, you will not only have
targeted access to the students of the University of California, San Diego but depending on
the package, you will be provided with a more comprehensive means to accessing the top
talent at the University of California, San Diego through our chapter’s plethora of
specialized marketing channels. We have a proven track-record of providing a more reliable
and comprehensive marketing platform for achieving results than the University’s in-house
marketing procedures.

The main intent of our business platform of obtaining corporate sponsorships is to create an
educational process and pragmatic experience for students to apply for-profit business
practices to non-profit purposes. Through our business model we are able to develop hard
skills as well as soft skills necessary in business through the applications of:

• Administration & Management

• Arbitration
• Marketing & Advertising
• Consulting
• Treasury Finance and Budgeting
• Portfolio Investment Management
• Contract Negotiation
• Compliance and Due Diligence
• Market Research
• Relationship Management
• Event Coordination and Planning
• Performance Evaluation and Metrics Analysis
• Philanthropy and Community Service

We at Delta Sigma Pi strive to be the best in our respective fields of interest and thus apply
ourselves through the business platform we have created to prepare ourselves for coveted
success. Through the various operations entailed in our organizational business model we
are able to attack the professional business world as students. Our astounding
achievements in successful event marketing have motivated our chapter to pursue
increasingly complex and notable ambitions with even greater causes.

Experience

Although our marketing platform for company recruiters has been in operation for a
relatively short time, our success has been measured by the amount of students we have
attracted at our events. We are able to target specific demographics through our deep
industry-knowledge and exclusive access to campus organizations and facilities. Our
Citigroup “Welcome to the Citi” event attracted nearly 150 engaged undergraduate and
graduate students. Our “Business Management and Entrepreneurial Success” panel
attracted over 200 students. Our Boeing recruitment event, “Careers Don’t Happen by
Accident” attracted an audience of over 100 interested individuals. We have also structured
new tracking measures for the performance of future events.

Marketing Reach

Our many marketing efforts extend to the many departments on campus. We are most
specialized in, but not limited to, marketing towards:

• The UC San Diego Economics Graduate Department

• The Rady School of Management
• The International Relations and Pacific Studies Graduate Department

We are currently working with corporate affiliates on expanding our efforts to include the
Jacobs School of Engineering and the Department of Political Science to provide more
students and employers with more diversified recruitment opportunities.

The University of California, San Diego

The University of California, San Diego boasts one of the best academic platforms in the
nation. Your sponsorship will give you exclusive access through the most ambitious
professional organization on campus.

BUSINESS MODEL
Newly Initiate Training Program

Each incoming member is placed into the Newly Initiate Training Program (NITP) where
they are guided through the chapter’s business platform via seminars, presentations and
workshops covering all aspects of the operations of our chapter business. The NITP courses
cover:

• Risk Management and Compliance

• Policies and Procedures
• Meeting Structure
• Corporate Relations Committee Orientation

Executive Membership

Each Executive Member (Officer) is elected to office by the chapter and is thoroughly
trained by their respective previous officers and nearly all have a committee derived from
the general membership to assist each Officer in his or her respective duties and
responsibilities. Furthermore, to mitigate the risk of lost experience and knowledge, each
incoming Officer must serve on their respective predecessors’ committee for one term prior
to installation into office to ensure that each incoming officer is already experienced
regarding his or her respective duties. In addition, each Outgoing Officer must continue to
serve on the committee of their previous office to aid in the transition of each Incoming
Officer. Each Incoming Officer is also guided through a detailed transition manual
respective to his or her office.

UNIVERSITY OF CALIFORNIA, SAN DIEGO

Committees

All Executive Members have committees to delegate their respective tasks and duties to
perform the necessary functions for operating our organization. Committees serve as
training grounds for prospective Officers to gain experience respective to the office served
under as well as a guidance strategy for exiting Officers. All incoming members are subject
to serving on at least three (3) committees outside of the Corporate Relations Committee to
ensure diversified experience as the NITP provides similar exposure mirroring corporate
rotational programs.

Corporate
Corporate Relationship Management Team

Under the conjoint direction of the Corporate Relations Chair, the Vice President of
Fundraising and the Vice President of Professional Activities, the Corporate Relationship
Management Team is comprised of selected elite members extensively trained in the
Corporate Relations Procedure to consult corporate entities regarding the chapter’s
corporate recruitment advertising and marketing services. These highly specialized
individuals are responsible for interacting with corporate affiliates in the presentation of
our products and services of our Corporate Relations Packages as well as update existing
clients with upcoming events. Their roles in the chapter are specifically tailored to consult
corporations and entities regarding our platform and maintain relations with existing
clientele.

Marketing & Advertising

All marketing venues are headed by the Vice President of Marketing and administered to
the chapter via the Marketing Committee. Due to our structured Policies and Procedures,
complete participation is required by all active membership in the chapter to market,
promote and advertise all events in affiliation with the chapter to ensure efficient
distribution of labor. Our marketing efforts aim to maximize the volume of students
attending each of our events and target each of our clients’ specified target audience to
ensure the fullest capacity of duly qualified applicants for our corporate sponsors.

Membership Recruitment
Recruitment

Each quarter we coordinate recruitment efforts to attract the best human capital to fuel our
ambitious aspirations to become the most prestigious business organization on campus
specialized in corporate recruitment consulting services. Our quarterly efforts provide
incoming membership the opportunity to learn the various marketing strategies we employ.
The practices of our quarterly recruitment events exercise our marketing efforts and help
us hone our performance. Through our soon to be implemented Marketing Event Surveys
and performance metrics we will be able to quantify our performance and apply our
econometric backgrounds to optimize our services to our clients. Recruitment periods also
provide great opportunities to market our sponsors to the general student body. Our
quarterly events include:

• Meet the

• Professional Event:

Philanthropy & Community Service:

As a business minded entity with non-profit endeavors we always keep the community in
mind as we know that as responsible human beings we must give back to the society that
has helped us in our personal and professional aspirations. Each year our Vice President of
Community Service coordinates a minimum of eight (8) community service events for the
chapter to make a difference in this world that we will soon become responsible for. As
many of us come from Economics and International Studies backgrounds we understand
the social impacts that affect the world around us. Each year we volunteer and help with
various activities including but not limited to:

• Urban restoration
• Environmental causes
• Educating inner-city youth
• Aiding the elderly
• Financial Education

We hope to enhance our efforts to helping the community through charity and
philanthropic donations and thus have established a business platform to facilitate our
ambitions. We believe in reciprocity in all of our efforts, whether it be developing incoming
membership similar to those that developed us or providing financial opportunities to
others as others have done for us.

Delta Sigma Pi-

Pi-Omicron Sigma Chapter Endowment Fund:

In an effort to fund our educational and philanthropic endeavors we are seeking corporate
donations to fund our endowment fund through the Delta Sigma Pi Leadership Foundation.
The Leadership Foundation parameters require an initial $20,000.00 to capitalize before

distributions are permitted. These distributions will provide for grants to fund travel and
lodging expenses to annual provincial and national Leadership and Excellence Academy for
Deltasigs (LEAD) events as well as Delta Sigma Pi Grand Chapter Congress. These
distributions will also fund our charitable efforts. We are currently working with local
professionals regarding financial education for disadvantaged and lower income students at
local schools to provide advice regarding the viability of attending college. Through these
events we intend to recognize outstanding individuals with financial need and reward them
with academic scholarships to pursue their collegiate interests as well as foster student,
business and underprivileged relationship development and networks. We also hope to
raise enough funds to provide for academic scholarships, research grants and charitable
donations with the recognition of our corporate donors (Work in progress).

Delta Sigma Pi-

Pi-Omicron Sigma
Sigma Chapter Investment Portfolio

As aspiring business professionals, many of us have great interests in finance and

investing. In an effort to help satiate these interests we have created our business model as
a means to not only hone our professional attributes but to finance the capitalization of a
chapter-managed investment portfolio. Outside of equity and fixed income, we have
structured a procedure strategy for long-term diversified growth that requires all
distributions to the principle to be held in perpetuity (Work in progress).
