Though reluctant at first, over subsequent meals where the frog asks to share her food, the Princess grows fond of the frog and considers him her best friend. However, a Prince then appears, also claiming to be the Princess's best friend. The story is told through a narrator and contains images and vocabulary related to meals and the characters of the Princess and frog.

    THE STORY
    Narrator: Princess Crystal is playing with her
    beautiful ball. The ball falls in the pond.

    Princess: oh, no! My beautiful ball!
    Narrator: Suddenly, a little green frog appears.
    Frog: Whats the matter, Princess?
    Princess: My ball is in the water.
    Frog: I can get your ball. But you must be my best
    friend.
    Princess: Yes, of course. I promise.
    Narrator: The frog gets the ball and gives it to the
    Princess Crystal.
    Frog: Heres your ball, princess
    Princess: Oh, thank you
    Narrator: The princess runs to the palace.
    Princess: Goodbye, frog
    Frog: Hey princess. Wait for me! Remember! Im your
    best friend!
    Princess: Best friends with a frog? No, thank you. Bye
    bye! I dont like the frog.

    Narrator: Now, the princess is having breakfast.
    Suddenly the little frog appears.
    Frog: Hello Princess. Remember! Im your best friend!
    Princess: Oh its you!
    Frog: Whats for breakfast?
    Princess: Toast and cereal.
    Frog: Can I have some, please?
    Princess: Well yes, ok.

    Narrator: Now, the princess is having lunch.
    Suddenly the little frog appears.
    Frog: Hello Princess. Remember! Im your best friend!
    Princess: Oh!
    Frog: Whats for lunch?
    Princess: Pizza and ice cream.
    Frog: Can I have some, please?
    Princess: Oh, yes. I like the frog now!

    Narrator: Now, the princess is having dinner.
    Suddenly the little frog appears.
    Frog: Hello Princess. Remember! Im your best friend!
    Princess: Ohhello!
    Frog: Whats for dinner?
    Princess: Bread and soup.
    Frog: Can I have some, please?
    Princess: Yes, of course Youre my best friend now!
    Narrator: Suddenly a prince appears!
    Prince: Yes, Im your best friend now!
