Diversity Cup is an inter community cricket tournament. Teams are formed based on
Nationalities of various countries. Diversity cup provides highest level of competition for
playing cricket in Michigan. Diversity cup provides opportunity to the participating teams to
include few international players to generate interest in the cricket fans and provide more
visibility to Sponsors.

Interest in Cricket is growing rapidly in USA, Michigan has especially enjoyed the visit of
many International players in recent years. Some of the prominent names are Greg
Chappell, Wasim Akram, Larry Gomes, Srikanth Krishnaswamy, Chetan Chuhan, Moin Khan,
Waqar Younus, Raju Venkatapathi

Diversity Cop started in 2006 with four teams, Canada Maple Leaf, India Blues, Pakistan
Greens and USA Stars. Inauguration dinner of Diversity cup was attended by representatives
of all four teams, supporters and sponsors. Mohammad Azharuddin, former captain of India
and his wife Sangeeta Bijlani were the special guests. Global Sports would like to
acknowledge Nabeel Ahmed for managing Mohammad Azharuddin ‘s participation in the
Diversity Cup. Mohammad Azharuddin played for team India Blues.

Special kids camp was also organized where kids had a great opportunity to learn from
Mohammad Azharuddin, Aamir Khawaja and Shyam Mayasandra helped organize the kids
camp.
