ABSTRACT
EduROM is an educational operating system for smartphones. It is based on Android Open
Source Project (AOSP). Android is an open source mobile platform developed by Google Inc.
Android runs on variety of devices and is growing day by day.
It is known that the next generation of computer will focus more on mobility. The computers of
current generation smart enough to perform thousands of tasks in seconds, but they are still not
much handy as smartphones and other mobile devices and still were dependent on our
computers for various day to day tasks which can be easily performed by a smartphones, but the
problem is many people dont know what their smartphone can do other than calling or playing
music. EduROM will provide a better use for their smartphones.
Mobile operating systems in the previous few years have grown so fast that now many tasks can
be performed by mobile devices which were never possible before, those tasks which required a
computer before can now easily implemented on a mobile device, this is all because of the
advancements in mobile processors and operating systems. EduROM will take advantage of
these powerful mobile devices to help students in their academics
EduROM will come preinstalled with various open source applications which are used by
developers and students for various developing and learning purposes, EduROM will be one of
its kind and it will be very first mobile OS which will be focused on education and academics.
This will also support Indian language which will make it easier for Indian students to operate
the system.
This Operating System will provide a distinct user interface then the other android based firm
wares and it will be easier to operate. The UI will be easily understandable and simple then the
actual android UI.
