Project Overview
The purpose of this assignment is to:
Assist nursing students in connecting theory to practice;
Further develop in-depth literature review skills;
Foster critical examination of literature and resources related to change concepts;
Enhance the students understanding of change processes within the context of an
actual or potential project undertaken in the NURS 4100 NPE clinical placement.

Assignment Criteria
1. Identify a change project, or potential change project, related to your NURS 4100 NPE
VII;
2. Clearly articulate and describe the nature of the change project you are proposing to
undertake, specific concepts(s) related to the change project, and your rationale(s) for
pursuing this endeavor;
3. Outline how you intend to plan and prepare for your proposed change project during
the unfreezing stage of Lewins change theory, utilizing any pertinent considerations
in the process; and
4. Articulate your understanding of the nursing role(s), as it relates to influencing change
and promoting societal health, in conducting this proposed change project.
Review the evaluation criteria and marking rubric for specific criteria:
Should ensure critical analysis, synthesis of ideas, evaluation of issues presented.
Support your position throughout with evidence from the literature.
Do not gloss over concepts. Assume your reader has no knowledge of the issue and
you need to ensure adequate depth of coverage of concepts and topics introduced.

Implications for Nursing Practice:
In a nursing paper, we always need to describe what the overarching goal of our
academic work is. There is no point writing a paper when it will not be of value to your
practice. If you were to publish a paper, the reader would want to know what value
they would gain from taking the time to read your writing. You can either address the
nursing implications in a stand-alone section, or thread them systematically throughout
each portion of your paper, depending on your requirements. For this paper, you
should discuss the nurses role in implementing the proposed change project.
Ideas:
Articulate your understanding of the nursing role(s), as it relates to influencing change
and promoting societal health, in conducting this proposed change project.
Describe how theoretical and practical knowledge gained enhances nurses'
professional practice.
How can this knowledge be incorporated into current nursing practice within the clinical
setting?
How will information gained assist you in making collaborative decisions regarding
client's health and potential for health/healing?
What considerations will further influence your nursing care of clients in the future?
Conclusion:
Can be entitled as such.
Refer back to your introduction and ensure you address each of the points you
promised to discuss by summarizing your position on each topic of discussion in the
same order they were presented in the intro and in the paper. At this point, the reader
has reviewed your paper so you are just bringing all your ideas back together in one
concise summary and making the link between the need for change, proposed change,
plan for change in relation to the theory, and nursing role in implementing the change
evident. Alternatively, if one does not want to read the entire paper, they should be
able to flip to the conclusion and see if reading this paper would be useful to the
purpose of the research they are doing.
