I am very excited to inform you about the opportunity and adventure God has called
me to join. After much prayer, godly wisdom sought, and with the blessing and
encouragement of my Elders at Open Door Church, I have joined the Mercy Hill
Church Planting Team. Please take time to visit the Mercy Hill Church website

It has been neat how God has been
preparing me for this work as a church
planter. I am very thankful for the
commitment of my parents to the local
church throughout my life. My Dads
example of faithfully shepherding as a
pastor of small churches for 50 years
has instilled in me a greater dependence
on King Jesus and a greater love for Him
and His church. After graduating Bible
College, God called me to Anniston Bible
Church. It was from being a part of the
leadership at Anniston Bible Church
that God helped me grow in my
understanding of how Jesus is building
His church and how He is spreading His
grace to the nations. During this time I
was learning about the importance of
local churches planting other local
churches in the states and throughout
the world.
After Anniston Bible Church, I moved to
NC to get my Masters of Arts in Biblical
Counseling at Southeastern Baptist
Theological Seminary. In looking for a
church that had a love for Christ and His
Word, expository preaching, plurality of
elders, a church planting church, and a
congregation where the nations were
welcome, I found and joined Open Door
Church. God has used Open Door
Church to help me understand the
importance of living life together as a
congregation and to give me a greater
understanding of how to live out the
one anothers in Scripture.
Gods hand brought me to Open Door
Church and placed me under their
leadership to help me continue to grow
in my walk with Christ and better
prepare me for being an under-shepherd
of my Chief Shepherd King Jesus. I have
had the privilege of serving alongside
some godly leaders in the College
Ministry and helping disciple some great
students. I am very thankful for being a
part of this kind of community where I
have been stirred to reach the nations
with the Gospel of Jesus Christ.




You might be asking, How is it that a southern boy, like Ricky Lee, is
even thinking about moving over 2100 miles to Phoenix, AZ? Thanks
for asking. God used a weekly time of prayer with group of Seminary
friends who were open to church planting. During one of our prayer
times, the statement was made, I want to pray about planting a
church where theres not a lot of churches. Well, that is true for the
city of Phoenix. It doesnt take long to notice the lack of churches as
you drive through the city. That statement has been echoing in my
head. God has used that statement along with my Elders
encouragement and the Gospel need in the Phoenix area to call me to
join Mercy Hill Church Plant Team.

It is in the best interest of the church
plant team for me to move to Phoenix,
AZ in August, 2014. For this to happen
there are several details that would be
wise to have in place before my move. I
would like to have you (and your churchs
partnership) to pray for the Mercy Hill
Church plant. Please pray with me as I ask
specifically for $5000.00 that will be used
for my moving expenses. I will be bi-
vocational. Right now God is leading me
to be a paid Counseling Professional so
that I can be a church planter. Though I
will be working to support this ministry,
I am asking for your help to get there.
Pray for wisdom as my parents make a
decision about their future living
expenses and where they will be living.
They have been faithful to the Lord and
His church over the years and still want
to be used for His glory.
My sisters and I have invited them to join
one of us, but one of my sisters and their
granddaughters might win out.
God has shown Himself faithful over the
years in providing for His servants, and
He will continue. Thank you for your
partnership in my next step of faith in
my kingdom journey. As you pray for me

Here are my top three prayer requests:

Pray for me to work hard as I partner with our team to do the Kingdom work we are
called to do (1Corinthians 15:10; 2 Tim 4:5).

Pray that God will prepare hearts to hear the Gospel and believe in King Jesus alone
for their salvation.

Pray that God will supply money for the move. I am praying for $5000.00. This would
include moving over 2100 miles, and expenses in getting settled in Phoenix.
