EXECUTIVE MODULE THREE TRAINING
pg. 2
Introduction
One of the most famous self-improvement
books ever written is Think and Grow Rich
by Napoleon Hill. In fact, it is often called
the book that makes millionaires. So it is
ftting that, as you stand on the threshold
of achieving Executive status in your Trvo
journey to empowered success, this book is an
important part of your training.
The idea behind Hills masterpiece came
from a series of biographies that he wrote for
Andrew Carnegie. Carnegie had requested
that Hill interview the most successful people
from all around the globe in an attempt
to determine if these people shared any
common habits or characteristics. What Hill
discovered is that each of these successful
business moguls did indeed share many of
the same habits.
From these habits, Hill assembled the 13
steps to riches which eventually became the
basis of Think and Grow Rich.
This book is a powerful tool for focusing your
mind and achieving your goals. And while
this Study Guide provides an overview of
the powerful principles contained in Hills
timeless bestseller, it does not replace
reading the actual book in its entirety. So
why not get a head start on your success by
obtaining your own copy?
The most important information from each
relevant chapter of Hills book is presented in
this Study Guide as clearly as possible and
each section is followed by a brief review.
In this manner, you can unlock the key
elements of the book and immediately begin
to put them to work in your life.
The underlying foundation of this Executive
Module Three Power Start Training is this:
Thoughts are things powerful things. Every
achievement, including every fortune ever
built, has its beginnings in a thought an
idea. When an idea is married with purpose,
persistence and passion - that is when the
idea becomes reality; when it results in real-
world effects.
Chapter One: Desire
THE STARTING POINT OF ALL
ACHIEVEMENT
A great warrior faced a situation which made
it necessary for him to make decisions which
ensured his success on the battlefeld. He was
about to send his armies against a powerful
enemy, one whose men vastly outnumbered
his own. He loaded his soldiers into boats,
sailed into the enemys country, unloaded
soldiers and equipment, and then gave the
order to burn the ships that had carried them
to shore.
Addressing his men before the frst
momentous battle, this leader said You
see the boats afame. We cannot leave these
shores alive unless we win. We now have no
choice. We win, or we perish.
They won.
Every great leader, from the dawn of
civilization to the present day, was a
dreamer. If you do not see great riches in
your imagination, you will never see them in
your bank account. Tolerance and an open
mind are practical necessities for todays
dreamer. Those who are afraid of new ideas
are doomed before they ever start.
Remember, if the thing you wish to
accomplish is right and you believe in it,
do not hesitate and do not give yourself an
out. Defne your desires, develop a plan,
and burn your ships. You see, when desire
focuses great forces toward your victory, you
do not need a way to retreat because victory
is certain.
There are no limitations except those we
place upon ourselves. Both poverty and riches
are the direct results of our thoughts.
STUDY GUIDE pg. 3
Every person who wins in any undertaking must
be willing to cut all sources of retreat. Only by
doing so can one be sure of maintaining that state
of mind known as a burning desire to win which
is essential to success.
The world is flled with an abundance of
opportunity for the dreamer. But there is a
difference between wishing for a thing and
being ready to receive it. No one is ready for a
thing until he believes he can acquire it. The
state of mind must be belief, not mere hope
or wish.
Open-mindedness is essential for belief.
Closed minds do not inspire faith, courage,
or belief. Aiming high in life, demanding
abundance and prosperity, does not require
any more effort than is required to accept
misery and poverty. So which will you
choose?
6 STEPS TO TURN DESIRES INTO
REALITY
1. Fix in your mind exactly what you
desire. If it is wealth, how much? It is
not suffcient to merely say I want a
lot of money. Be defnite.
2. Determine exactly what you intend
to give in return for the wealth you
desire.
3. Establish a defnite date when you in-
tend to possess the wealth you desire.
4. Create a defnite plan to achieve your
desire and begin at once, whether you
are ready or not, to put this plan in to
action.
5. Write out a clear, concise statement
of the wealth you intend to acquire.
Specify the time limit for its acquisi-
tion, state what you intend to give in
return for this wealth, and describe
clearly the plan through which you
intend to accumulate it.
6. Read your written statement aloud
twice daily. As you read, see, feel and
believe yourself already in possession
of the wealth you desire.
My Desire To
Achieve Wealth Program
SAY THESE AFFIRMATIONS ALOUD
TWICE DAILY, EVERY DAY.
The exact amount of wealth I desire is

defeat. Understand and believe that there are no
limitations to your mind and your desires except
those you acknowledge and accept.

STUDY GUIDE pg. 5
Chapter Two: Faith
VISUALIZATION OF, AND BELIEF IN,
ATTAINMENT OF YOUR DESIRE
Faith does not just refer to the belief in a
higher power. It can also be the belief that
the future holds better things for you; in
other words, a strong, positive, and confdent
outlook.
Faith is also a state of mind which can
be created by affrmation or repeated
instructions to your subconscious mind. This
is known as the principle of auto-suggestion.
This is why repeating your affrmations twice
every day is so important.
You can actually convince your subconscious
mind that you believe you will receive that
which you ask, and it will act upon that
belief, which your subconscious mind passes
back to you in the form of faith, followed by
defnite plans for obtaining that which you
desire.
Directed faith makes every thought crackle
with power. How? All thoughts which
have been given emotion and then mixed
with faith begin immediately to translate
themselves into their physical equivalent or
counterpart.
It is important, therefore, to remember that
the subconscious mind will translate into its
physical equivalent negative or destructive
thought impulses just as readily as it will
act upon thought impulses of a positive
or constructive nature. This accounts for
the strange phenomenon which countless
millions of people simply call misfortune or
bad luck.
You may beneft by passing on to your
subconscious mind any desire which you wish
translated into its physical, or monetary,
equivalent in a state of expectancy or belief
that the transmutation will actually take
place.
Important Note:
THE DEFINITION OF TRANSMUTE IS TO CHANGE
OR ALTER IN FORM, APPEARANCE, OR NATURE
AND ESPECIALLY TO A HIGHER FORM.
In other words, your belief or faith is
the element which determines the action
of your subconscious mind. There is
nothing to hinder you from deceiving
your subconscious mind when giving it
instructions through auto-suggestion.
To make this deceit more realistic, conduct
yourself as you would if you were already
in possession of the material thing which
you are demanding. You may be surprised
to discover that your mind will actually
begin to take on the nature of the infuences
which dominate it. This effect makes it even
more essential for you to encourage positive
emotions as dominating forces of your
mind. Similarly, you must discourage and
eliminate negative emotions.
You are probably familiar with the saying,
If you say something long enough and often
enough, you will eventually believe it. This
is actually quite true. Even if the statement
is false, if you repeat it over and over, you
will begin to accept the lie as truth. You will
believe it to be the truth.
Each of us is what we are because of the
dominating thoughts that we permit to
occupy our mind. Thoughts you deliberately
place in your own mind constitute the
motivational forces which direct and control
your every movement, act and deed. You are
what you are because of what you think and
believe. Resolve to throw aside the infuences
of negative energy and build the life that you
desire.
Remember, the subconscious mind makes
no distinction between constructive and
destructive thought impulses. It works
with the material we feed it through our
thought impulses. The subconscious mind
EXECUTIVE MODULE THREE TRAINING
pg. 6
will translate into reality a thought driven
by fear just as readily as it will translate into
reality a thought driven by courage or faith.
Auto-suggestion will lead you to peace and
prosperity or misery and failure.
If you fll your mind with fear, doubt and
unbelief in your ability to connect with and
use the forces of infnite intelligence, the
law of auto-suggestion will take this spirit
of unbelief and use it as a pattern by which
your subconscious mind will translate it into
its physical equivalent.
Our minds become magnetized with the
dominating thoughts we hold in our minds
and these magnets attract to us the forces, the
people, and the circumstances of life which
harmonize with the nature of our dominating
thoughts. ~ Napoleon Hill
Self-Confdence
Affrmations
REPEAT THESE DAILY TO BUILD
POSITIVE SUBCONSCIOUS AUTO-
SUGGESTION
1. I know that I have the ability to
achieve the object of my defnite
purpose in life. Therefore, I demand of
myself the persistent and consistent
actions toward its attainment, and I
here and now promise to render such
action.
2. I realize the dominating thoughts of
my mind will eventually reproduce
themselves in outward, physical ac-
tion, and gradually transform them-
selves into physical reality. Therefore,
I will concentrate my thoughts for
30 minutes each day on the task of
thinking about the person I intend to
become, thereby creating in my mind
a clear mental picture of that person.
3. I know that through the principle
of auto-suggestion, any desire that
I persistently hold in my mind will
eventually seek expression through
some means of attaining the object
driving that desire. Therefore, I will
devote 10 minutes daily to demand-
ing of myself the development of
self-confdence.
4. I have clearly written down a descrip-
tion of my defnite primary goal in
life, and I will never stop trying until
I have developed suffcient self-conf-
dence to bring about the attainment
of that goal.
5. I realize that no wealth or position
can endure for long unless it is built
upon truth and justice. Therefore, I
will engage in no transaction which
does not beneft all whom it affects.
I will succeed by attracting to myself
the forces I wish to use and the coop-
eration of other people.
6. I know that a negative attitude
toward others can never bring me
success. Therefore, I will eliminate
hatred, envy, jealousy, selfshness,
and cynicism by developing a love for
all humanity.
7. I will cause others to believe in me
because I will believe in them and
myself.
Do not wait; the time will never be just
right. Start where you stand and work
with whatever tools you may have at your
command, knowing that better tools will be
found on your journey to greatness.

Chapter Three: Auto
Suggestion
IMPRINTING YOUR DESIRES INTO YOUR
SUBCONSCIOUS MIND
While the idea of auto-suggestion may
sound odd or even something along the lines
of hocus pocus, it is important that you keep
an open mind to this proven concept.
Basically, the idea behind auto-suggestion
is that if you keep repeating your plan for
success to yourself, it has a greatly increased
chance of actually coming true. How?
Embedding a thought deeply within yourself
and repetition does the trick increases
the chance that the thought will come up at
the right time when you need it. Think of
it as cramming for a college exam; intense
studying with the hope that the right answer
will come up when you need it.
You see, there are no limitations to the mind
except those we acknowledge. Both poverty
and riches are the offspring of thought.
Auto-suggestion is a term that applies to all
suggestions and self-administered stimuli
that reaches ones mind through the fve
senses (sight, touch, smell, hearing, and
taste). It is the conduit of communication
between that part of the mind where
conscious thought takes place and that
which serves as the seat of action for the
subconscious mind.
Through the dominating thoughts which
you permit to remain in your conscious mind
positive or negative auto-suggestions
voluntarily reach your subconscious mind
and infuence it with these thoughts. No
thought, whether positive or negative, can
enter your subconscious mind without the aid
of auto-suggestion. The conscious mind acts
as a flter to the subconscious mind, so you
have absolute control over the material which
reaches your subconscious mind.
The ability to reach and control your
subconscious mind does have its price,
however, and that price is persistence. You
have to decide if the outcome is worth the
effort. When failure is experienced, make
another effort, and still another until you
succeed.
The subconscious mind takes any orders
given to it in a spirit of absolute faith
and acts upon those orders, although the
orders have to be presented over and over
again through repetition before they are
interpreted by the subconscious mind.
Consider the possibility of playing a perfectly
legitimate trick on your subconscious mind
by making it believe because you believe
it that you must have the amount of money
you are visualizing. Make your subconscious
mind believe that this money is already
waiting for you and that it must deliver to
you practical plans to acquire the money
that is yours. Send that thought to your
imagination and see what your imagination
can, or will, do to create practical plans
for the accumulation of money through
transmutation of your desire.
Remember, transmutation means to change
or alter in form, appearance or nature, and
especially to a higher form.
Begin to see yourself in possession of the
money as you expect (and even demand) that
your subconscious hand over the plan needed
to obtain that wealth. Be on the alert for
those plans and when they appear, put them
into action immediately.
These plans oftentimes will fash into your
mind through inspiration (also known as
the sixth sense). Treat that inspiration
with respect and put the inspired plans
into action immediately. Do not trust
your sense of reason when creating your
plan for accumulating money through the
transmutation of desire. Why? Your reason is
faulty.
STUDY GUIDE pg. 9
Moreover, your reasoning faculty may be lazy
and, if you depend on it to serve you, it may
very well disappoint you.
When visualizing the wealth you intend
to accumulate, see yourself rendering the
service or delivering the merchandise you
intend to give in return for this wealth. Be
specifc in your visualization.
For example, visualize the wealth that you
will gain through your Trvo business, and
then see yourself doing specifc business-
building activities that will create that
wealth.
Whatever the mind of man can conceive and
believe, it can also achieve.

Chapter Four:
Specialized
Knowledge
KNOWLEDGE OF WHAT YOU INTEND TO
OFFER IN RETURN FOR THE WEALTH
YOU DESIRE
There are two kinds of knowledge: general
and specialized. General knowledge is of
little use in accumulating wealth. Knowledge
will not attract money unless it is organized
and intelligently directed through practical
plans of action toward the defnite result
of accumulation of wealth. Knowledge,
therefore, is potential power. It becomes
power when it is organized into defnite plans
of action and directed toward a defnite end.
Before you can turn desire into wealth,
however, you will require specialized
knowledge of the service, product, or
profession which you intend to offer for that
fortune. You may need more specialized
knowledge than you can personally acquire.
In that case, you need a mastermind group.
A mastermind group is a group of experts
(authorities) on subjects of which you are not
an authority.
In the case of Trvo, this mastermind group
would include mentors such as your team
leaders, top feld leaders and, of course, our
CEO and founder Mark A. Stevens. These
people all possess in-depth specialized
knowledge regarding the activities,
approaches, and strategies that will help you
constantly expand your Trvo business.
The accumulation of wealth calls for
power, and power is acquired through
highly organized and intelligently directed
specialized knowledge. But that knowledge
does not have to be possessed by the person
who acquires the wealth.
Napoleon Hill had never heard of the
Internet, but he would have loved it. Mr.
Hill was quoted as saying, Specialized
knowledge is among the most plentiful, yet
cheapest, forms of service which may be had.
It was true when he uttered this wisdom and
it is even more true now. It pays to know how
to acquire knowledge.
HERE ARE A FEW WAYS THROUGH
WHICH YOU CAN GAIN SPECIALIZED
KNOWLEDGE:
Your own experience
Experience from your mastermind

As knowledge is acquired, it must be
organized and put into use for a defnite
purpose through practical plans. Remember,
knowledge has no value except that which
can be gained from its application toward
some worthy end. Gaining wealth is a worthy
end.
EXECUTIVE MODULE THREE TRAINING
pg. 12
Combine your specialized knowledge with
your imagination to create ideas - ideas that
make money.
There is no fxed price for sound ideas. There
is no limit to the amount of wealth a good
idea can bring. Behind the idea is always
specialized knowledge. This knowledge
is easy to acquire. What is rare, however,
is good ideas. Because of this, there is a
universal and ever-increasing demand for
ideas in the form of organized plans to create
wealth.
Action is the real measure of intelligence.

Chapter Five:
Imagination
TAP INTO YOUR CREATIVE
IMAGINATION TO TRANSFORM A VAGUE
IDEA INTO SOMETHING CONCRETE AND
AMAZINGLY PROFITABLE.
For many people, tapping into their
imagination is a key stumbling block on
their path to success. They see the goal, they
see where they are now, but they lack the
imagination to construct the path between
here and there.
You see, imagination is the workshop where
plans are created. Your desire is given shape,
form, and action through the process of
imagination. You can create or do anything
you can imagine.
There are two types of imagination: synthetic
and creative. Synthetic imagination is
arranging existing concepts, ideas, or plans
into new combinations. It does not create
anything. It merely works with existing
material in a new way.
Creative imagination, on the other hand,
is your source of new ideas. This type of
imagination is often referred to as hunches
or inspiration. Ask yourself questions such
as What if? Why not? or What would
happen if?
Both kinds of imagination synthetic and
creative become stronger with use.
Your imaginative faculty may have become
weak through inactivity. It cannot die, but
your imagination can be lulled to sleep. It can
also, however, be revived and made alert and
active through use.
Remember, desire is only a thought. It is
abstract and of no value until it has been
transformed into action. This transformation
of desire into reality calls for the use of a
plan, and such a plan must be formed with
the aid of your imagination particularly
your synthetic imagination. Scientists have
shown that everything is either matter or
energy. Money is energy. Ideas are energy.
Energy attracts like energy.
Imagination is the workshop of your
mind, capable of turning mind energy into
accomplishment and wealth.

Chapter Six:
Organized Planning
HAVE A CLEAR AND CONCISE PLAN TO
OBTAIN YOUR DESIRES.
Everything you create or acquire begins in
the form of desire. You see, desire is the frst
part of the journey from the abstract to the
actual. It is in the workshop of imagination
that plans for achieving that which you desire
are created and organized.
HOW TO BUILD A PLAN:
First, understand that no one can
accumulate great wealth without
other people.
Surround yourself with a team of
support people who have knowledge
of how to go down the path you want
to go, and who also care about helping
you. This can be comprised of your
team leaders, other members of your
Trvo organization, or mentors whose
opinions you value. These people will
become your mastermind group.
Before forming your group, however,
think about any advantages and
benefts you offer the other members
of this group. In other words, what
do you bring to the table? Remember,
surrounding yourself with a
mastermind group needs to be a give
and take proposition in order to
thrive and be effective.
Meet with members of your
mastermind group regularly (once or
twice every week in order to optimize
your opportunity for success).
Strive to maintain harmony within
your group. Unresolved dissention is
not a characteristic of leadership nor
does it nurture the fow of creative
planning. It is essential that all
members of your group are working
toward the same goal.
Remember, you are engaged in an
undertaking of major importance to you.
To be sure of success, you must have plans
which are faultless. That involves taking
advantage of the experience, education,
native ability, and imagination of other
minds. No single person has that complete
package to the point that they can ensure
the accumulation of the wealth that they
desire without the cooperation of other
people. Every plan you adopt in your
endeavor to accumulate wealth should be
the joint creation of yourself and every other
member of your mastermind group.
If the frst plan that you adopt does not work
successfully, replace it with a new plan. If
this new plan fails to work, replace it as well
until you fnd a plan that does work. This
is the point where most people meet with
failure. They simply do not consistently and
persistently create new plans to take the
place of those which fail.
This is actually the defning difference
between those who persist until successful
and those who would like to be a success if it
is not too much trouble.
Before success comes in anyones life, he is
sure to meet with much temporary defeat,
and, perhaps, some failure. When defeat
overtakes a person, the easiest and most
logical thing to do is to quit. That is exactly
what the majority of people do. More than
fve hundred of the most successful people
this country has ever known found that their
greatest successes came just one step beyond
the point at which defeat had overtaken
them.
It is important to understand that even the
most intelligent person alive cannot succeed
in accumulating wealth without plans
STUDY GUIDE pg. 17
that are practical and workable. Of course,
not every plan works. When a plan fails,
remember that the temporary defeat is not a
permanent failure. Temporary defeat simply
means that something is wrong with that
plan and another should be developed. There
is no value in persistently pursuing a plan
that does not work. Instead, if something is
not working, change it.
Your achievement can be no greater than
your plans are sound. You cannot expect to
accumulate a fortune or achieve any other
worthwhile goal for that matter without
experiencing temporary defeat. But instead
of giving up, simply acknowledge that the
failed plan was not sound and then get busy
building a new plan and trying again.
First comes thought; then organization of that
thought into ideas and plans; then transformation
of those plans into reality. All great plans begin in
the imagination.

Chapter Seven:
Decision
WHEN IT COMES TIME TO MAKE
DECISIONS, LEADERS DO NOT
PROCRASTINATE.
Do not defer to others or delay decisions.
This is perhaps the biggest part of becoming
a leader and a person that people will depend
upon and follow. Of course, it is perfectly
fne to gather information but when the time
comes, be decisive. Come up with a frm
decision and stick with it.
Procrastination the lack of a defnite
decision is a common enemy that every
successful person must conquer. People who
are successful have the habit of reaching
decisions promptly and changing those
decisions slowly, if ever.
The majority of people who fail to accumulate
the level of wealth they desire are generally
easily infuenced by the opinions of others. If
you have this tendency, you will soon have no
desires of your own.
Instead, keep your own counsel and
choose very carefully those leaders and
entrepreneurs of whom you seek advice.
Those who talk too much generally do little
else. Genuine wisdom usually becomes
conspicuous through modesty and silence. A
guiding principle should be to tell the world
what you intend to do by going about the
business of actually doing it.
As we have discussed in earlier chapters,
thoughts backed by strong desire have
a tendency to transmute themselves into
their physical equivalent. Those who know
what they want reach decisions frmly and
defnitely, and most frequently get what
they want. You see, the world has a habit of
making room for the person whose words and
actions show that they know where they are
going.
Defniteness of decision always requires
courage. For example, any person making a
decision to build a hugely successful Trvo
business stakes their economic freedom upon
that decision. Financial independence is not
within the reach of a person who refuses to
plan for and then demand such freedom.
ATTRIBUTES OF A DECISIVE LEADER:
1. Courage and confdence.
2. Self-control.
3. A keen sense of justice.
4. Defniteness of decision If you
waiver in your resolve, you send the
message that you are not sure of
yourself.
5. Defniteness of plans Successful
leaders must plan their work and
work their plan. A leader who moves
by guesswork without practical,
defnite plans is comparable to a ship
without a rudder.
6. The habit of doing more than is
expected of them Successful leaders
work harder than followers.
7. An approachable, warm personality
If you are to successfully lead others,
they must feel that you have their
best interests at heart and that you
are truly interested in their concerns
or ideas.
8. Sympathy and understanding.
9. Mastery of detail If having an eye

Chapter Eight:
Persistence
YOU MUST PERSIST CONSISTENTLY
AND WITHOUT EXCEPTION.
Persistence is essential in transmuting desire
into its monetary equivalent. Willpower and
desire, when properly combined, make an
irresistible, unbeatable pair. Persistence
means that you know you are following the
right path for your life and your goals, and
that you will not allow a few missteps or
stumbles along the way to keep you from
achieving your goals.
Many people, unfortunately, are ready to
throw their desires and goals overboard
at the frst sign of opposition or the frst
time they fail. Few have the persistent
and consistent determination to carry on
despite all opposition until they attain their
goals. And without this persistence, you are
defeated before you even begin.
The ease with which a lack of persistence
may be conquered will depend entirely upon
the intensity of your desire. Remember, the
starting point of all achievement is desire.
Weak desires bring weak results.
Fortune gravitates to people whose minds
have been prepared to attract it. Poverty
is attracted to people whose minds are
favorable to it, as money is attracted to those
whose minds have been deliberately prepared
to attract it. The same principle of attraction
applies to both wealth and poverty. So which
do you choose to attract? Your choice will
require both persistence and a strong desire.
It is interesting to note that those with
persistence know that every failure carries
with it the seed of an equivalent advantage.
No matter how many times they fail on the
journey to empowered success, they know
their eventual arrival at the top of the ladder
will occur. They accept defeat as nothing
more than a temporary bump in the road to
achieving their desires.
There is an exciting and irresistible power
about someone who fghts on in the face of
discouragement. Persistence, however, is
simply a state of mind that you can and must
cultivate.
The opposite of persistence is the fear of
criticism. The majority of people permit their
family, friends, co-workers and even the
public at large to infuence them to the point
they cannot live their own lives for fear of
criticism. They may refuse to take a chance
on becoming a wealthy entrepreneur by
building their own global Trvo business for
fear of the criticism that will follow at each
and every bump in the road. In those cases,
the fear of criticism is stronger than the
desire for success.
The application of persistence makes the
breaks you need to become a success.
PERSISTENCE IS BASED UPON
DEFINITE CAUSES:
Defniteness of purpose Knowing
what you want is the frst, and
probably the most important, step.
Desire.
Self-reliance.
Defniteness of plans.
Accurate knowledge.
Cooperation.
Willpower.
Habit.
STUDY GUIDE pg. 23
FOUR STEPS THAT LEAD TO THE HABIT
OF PERSISTENCE:
1. A defnite purpose backed by a burning
desire for its fulfllment.
2. A defnite plan, expressed in continuous
action.
3. A mind closed tightly against all
negative and discouraging infuences.
4. A friendly alliance with one or more
people who will encourage you to
follow through with both plan and
purpose. It is important to remember
that if your plan does not work, change
it. Persistence, in this case, means
persistence toward achieving your goal.
Mastering these four steps gives you the
ability to make life yield whatever price
you ask. A study of the achievements of
numerous successful people shows that
persistence, concentration of effort, and
defniteness of purpose are the major sources
of achievement.
Most great people have attained their greatest
success just one step beyond their greatest failure.

Chapter Nine: The
Subconscious Mind
LEARN TO CONTROL YOUR
SUBCONSCIOUS MIND THROUGH
AUTO-SUGGESTION AND POSITIVE
THINKING.
The subconscious mind consists of a feld
of consciousness in which every thought
impulse that reaches the objective mind
through any of the fve senses is classifed
and recorded. From this amazingly vast
collection, thoughts can then be recalled or
withdrawn almost as one stores, recalls, or
withdraws documents from a fling cabinet.
The subconscious fling process is completely
automatic. You only have control over the
thought under consideration. Everything
else happens completely automatically. You
cannot completely control your subconscious
but you can voluntarily hand over to it any
plan, desire or purpose which you desire
to have transformed into concrete form.
This process is accomplished through auto-
suggestion.
Your subconscious mind receives and fles
sense impressions or thoughts, regardless of
their nature. Through auto-suggestion, you
may voluntarily plant in your subconscious
mind any plan, thought, or purpose that
you desire to translate into its physical or
monetary equivalent. The subconscious acts
frst on these dominating desires which have
been mixed with intense feelings or emotions.
In reality, only thoughts mixed with emotions
whether positive or negative have an
active infuence on the subconscious.
The subconscious mind never remains idle.
It works day and night. Even if you do not
provide input, your subconscious mind will
make up its own ideas to act upon. In other
words, your subconscious mind functions
involuntarily, whether you make any effort to
infuence it or not. This, naturally, suggests
that thoughts of fear, failure and poverty or
any other negative thought serve as stimuli
to your subconscious mind unless you master
these impulses and give your subconscious
more desirable input.
There are specifc major positive emotions
and, conversely, specifc major negative
emotions. The negatives involuntarily inject
themselves into your thoughts. The positives,
on the other hand, must be purposely placed
there through auto-suggestion. The more
intense the emotions, the more rapidly the
transformation from thought impulse into
reality will occur.
THE MAJOR POSITIVE EMOTIONS:
Desire
Faith
Love
Enthusiasm
Romance
Hope
THE MAJOR NEGATIVE EMOTIONS:
Fear
Jealousy
Hatred
Revenge
Greed
Anger
Positive and negative emotions cannot
occupy the mind simultaneously. One or
the other must dominate. If you habitually
choose the positive, there will be no room for
the negative. Therefore, it is essential that
you form the habit of applying and using the
positive emotions listed above.
EXECUTIVE MODULE THREE TRAINING
pg. 26
You have probably heard the saying What
goes in, also comes out. This refers to the
emotions and thought impulses that you feed
your mind. Case in point, there is research to
support the view that you should be careful in
choosing television shows, movies, and music.
Remember, the mind can only use what you
feed it.
Thoughts which go out from your mind imbed
themselves deeply in your subconscious mind,
where they serve as a magnet, pattern, or
blueprint by which your subconscious mind is
infuenced while translating them into their
physical equivalent.
Everything man has created or ever will
create begins in the form of a thought
impulse. Man cannot create anything that
has not frst been conceived in thought.
Through the imagination, thoughts are
assembled into plans that lead to success.
The possibilities of creative effort connected
with the subconscious mind are both
stupendous and impossible to estimate.
The Optimists
Creed
PROMISE YOURSELF
To be so strong that nothing can
disturb your peace of mind.
To talk health, happiness, and
prosperity to every person you meet.
To make all your friends and team
members feel that they were created
for greatness.
To look at the sunny side of
everything and make your optimism
become reality.
To think only of the best, to work only
with the best, and expect only the
best.
To be just as sincerely enthusiastic
about the success of other leaders and
team members as you are about your
own.
To forget the mistakes of the past and
press on to the greater achievements
of the future.
To wear a cheerful countenance at all
times and give every person you meet
a smile.
To give so much time to the
improvement of yourself that you
have no time to criticize others.
To be too busy for worry, too noble
for anger, too strong for fear, and
too happy to permit the presence of
trouble.
To think well of yourself and to
proclaim this fact to the world,
not in loud words but in great
accomplishments.
To live in the faith that the whole
world is on your side as long as you
are true to the best that is in you.
Form the habit of applying and using
the positive emotions! Eventually, they will
dominate your mind so completely, that the
negatives cannot enter it.

Chapter Ten:
Outwitting The
Ghosts of Fear
TAKE INVENTORY OF YOURSELF AND
FIND OUT HOW MANY GHOSTS ARE
STANDING IN YOUR WAY.
The master key that unlocks the door to lifes
bountiful riches is the privilege of creating in
your own mind a burning desire to achieve.
The satisfaction that comes to those who
conquer self and force life to pay whatever
they demand is both overwhelming and
unlimited.
Before you can put any portion of this Study
Guide into successful use, your mind must
be prepared to receive it. The preparation is
not diffcult. It begins with study, analysis,
and understanding of three enemies which
you shall have to clear out. These are
INDECISION, DOUBT, and FEAR. The
members of this success-destroying trio are
closely related; where one is found, the other
two are close at hand.
Succumbing to these ghosts can keep you
from becoming successful or accomplishing
your goals.
The purpose of this chapter is to shine a
spotlight of attention upon the cause and the
cure of three basic fears. Remember, before
you can master an enemy, you must know
its name, its habits, and where it resides.
As you read, analyze yourself carefully and
determine which, if any, of these common
fears have attached themselves to you.
Do not be deceived by the habits of these
subtle enemies. Sometimes they remain
hidden in the subconscious mind, where they
are diffcult to locate and even more diffcult
to eliminate.
Keep in mind that random thoughts picked
up by chance have just as much infuence as
those created by desire and intent. Therefore,
you have the ability to control your thoughts
and your fears. Since fear is nothing but
a state of mind, you can control it. This, in
turn, leads to control of physical situations,
including the achievement of success and
accumulation of wealth.
For example, have you ever wondered why
some people appear to be lucky while
others of equal or greater ability, training,
experience, and brain capacity, seem
destined to ride with misfortune? This may
be explained by the statement that every
human being has the ability to completely
control their own mind. With this control,
every person can control whether their
mind is opened to the thoughts of others
particularly those that are negative and
discouraging - or close the doors tightly and
admit only positive thought impulses of their
own choice.
So, now that you know that you have the
ability to control your thoughts to create the
life of your own choosing, lets discuss three
basic fears that everyone suffers from at
some point in their life.
The Fear of Poverty. This is a state
of mind that can destroy your chances
of achievement. Left unchecked, this
fear paralyzes reasoning, destroys
imagination, kills self-reliance,
undermines enthusiasm, discourages
incentive, leads to uncertainty,
and encourages procrastination.
Symptoms include indifference,
indecision, doubt, worry, and
procrastination.
You can conquer the fear of poverty
by reaching a mental decision to get
along with whatever level of wealth
you can accumulate without excessive
worries.
STUDY GUIDE pg. 29
The Fear of Criticism. The fear
of criticism robs people of initiative,
destroys the power of imagination,
limits individuality, and takes
away self-reliance. Criticism plants
fear and resentment in the human
heart, rather than love or affection.
Symptoms of the fear of criticism
include self-consciousness, a lack
of poise, wishy-washy personality
traits, an inferiority complex,
extravagance, lack of initiative, and a
lack of ambition.
Overcome the fear of criticism by
reaching a decision not to worry about
what anyone else says, does, or thinks
about you. Become immune to the
worries or destructive thoughts of
others.
The Fear of Ill Health. Most people
fear ill health because of the terrible
picture they may have planted in their
minds of death and its consequences.
The fear of disease, even when there
is not the slightest cause for fear,
can actually produce the physical
symptoms of the disease feared most.
Specifc symptoms of the fear of ill
health can include negative use of
auto-suggestion, hypochondria, lack
of exercise, susceptibility to ill health,
and self-indulgence.
Leave the fear of ill health behind by
making a conscious decision to cast
those fears and imagined symptoms
aside. Ensure that your body is
receiving the nutrients it needs to
function at its very best by including
two to three ounces of Trvo in your
daily routine. Be sure to also get
out and get your body moving; you
will be surprised by the number of
people you will encounter who will
be deeply interested in your healthy,
active lifestyle and vibrant, positive
outlook. This, of course, is a wonderful
opportunity to introduce others to the
fabulous Trvo lifestyle!

Chapter Eleven:
Yes, You Can
Protect Yourself
Against Negative
Infuences!
As you have learned throughout this Study
Guide, controlling the thoughts that you
allow to enter and remain in both your
conscious and subconscious mind is vital in
your quest for success and wealth. While
positive thoughts can propel you toward
unlimited prosperity and success, negative
thoughts can create impassable road blocks
in your journey toward an empowered
lifestyle.
YOU CAN PROTECT YOURSELF
AGAINST NEGATIVE INFLUENCES
BY BUILDING A MENTAL WALL
OF IMMUNITY. THIS CAN BE
ACCOMPLISHED BY:
Recognizing that you are susceptible
to suggestions that harmonize with
the basic fears discussed above.
Being vigilant in recognizing people
who discourage you by trying to use
any of the basic fears.
Deliberately seek the company of
people who infuence you to think and
act for yourself.
Never expecting troubles, as they
have a tendency not to disappoint.
Closing your mind to the negative
infuences of other people. Do not
give their thoughts access to your
subconscious mind.
Your business in life is to achieve success. To
be successful, you must fnd peace of mind,
achieve self-confdence in your abilities and
potential to accumulate wealth and, most
of all, attain happiness. All of these facets
of success begin frst in the form of thought
impulses.
You alone have the power to decide what to
think about. This, in turn, gives you alone
the power to infuence, direct, and eventually
control your own environment making your
life exactly what you want it to be.
Alternatively, you can neglect to exercise
your ability to control and direct your
opportunities for success by casting your life
upon the broad and often tumultuous - sea
of circumstances.
People who accumulate great wealth
always protect themselves against the
negative infuences of people they happen
to encounter. The poverty-stricken never do
this.
You can effectively protect yourself through
willpower and by establishing habits that
will counteract the negative infuences
around you.
See things as they really are. Control your
thoughts. Clear out the medicine chest of
your mind. Deliberately seek the company
of people who will infuence you to think and
act for yourself; people who encourage you
to actively move toward the greatness for
which you were created; people who believe
in you, support you, and who can see the
possibilities and viability of your dreams.
In the fnal analysis, you either control your
mind or it will control you. If you keep busy
with a defnite purpose, backed by a defnite
plan, your mind will continually work to
bring that plan into existence.

STUDY GUIDE pg. 33
Chapter Twelve:
Bump Up Your
Charisma Level
CHARISMA IS NOT NECESSARILY
INNATE; SOMETHING EITHER YOU
WERE BORN WITH OR YOU WERE NOT.
IT CAN BE LEARNED.
Long believed to be an innate, magical
quality, charisma has come under the
scrutiny of research scientists who have
found that, far from being an innate, magical
quality, charisma is simply the result of
learned behaviors. In fact, in controlled
laboratory experiments, researchers were
able to raise and lower peoples levels of
charisma as if they were turning a dial
just by asking them to adopt specifc
(charismatic) behaviors.
Charismatic behaviors are usually learned
early in life, as people try new behaviors,
see the results and refne them. Eventually,
the behaviors become instinctive, without
the learner having ever been aware of the
process. Some people, however, learn later.
Case in point - Steve Jobs, now considered
one of the most charismatic CEOs of
the decade, came across as bashful and
awkward in his earliest presentations. Jobs
painstakingly worked to increase his level
of charisma over the years, and the gradual
improvement in his public appearances was
quite striking and amazingly effective.
CHARISMA IS A SPARKLE IN PEOPLE
THAT MONEY CANT BUY.
ITS AN INVISIBLE ENERGY WITH
VISIBLE EFFECTS.
Learn The Components
Of Charisma
Learning to radiate charisma will make you
more infuential, more persuasive, and more
inspiring. People will like you, trust you, and
want to be led by you.
CHARISMATIC BEHAVIOR CAN BE
BROKEN DOWN INTO THREE CORE
ELEMENTS:
Presence
Power
Warmth
When people describe their experience
of seeing a charismatic person in action,
whether Bill Clinton or the Dalai Lama, they
often mention the individuals extraordinary
presence. Presence turns out to be a core
component of charisma, the foundation upon
which all else is built.
But if presence is the foundation on which
charisma rests, power and warmth are the
essential building blocks.
When we frst meet someone, we instinctively
assess whether that person is a potential
friend or foe, team member or customer,
believer or non-believer. To answer the frst
question, we try to assess how much he
or she likes us. To answer the second and
third questions, we try to assess how much
common ground and goals we share, as well
as how much power that person has.
When you meet a charismatic person, his
or her presence gives the impression that
they have a lot of power and they like you a
lot. Fight or fight? is the power question.
Friend or foe? is the warmth question.
You need all three (presence, power, and
warmth) to be charismatic, but the degree
of each determines the kind of charisma you
have. For example:
High power, low presence, low
warmth is authority charisma. Colin
Powell has that.
EXECUTIVE MODULE THREE TRAINING
pg. 34
High presence, lower power, low
warmth is called focus charisma.
Bill Gates actually has charisma in
that respect.
A good example of someone who leads
with high warmth is the Dalai Lama.
What Is The Single Biggest
Inhibitor To Charisma?
Low self-confdence, also known as self-
doubt most defnitely ranks the highest as a
charisma inhibitor.
In one of its manifestations, known as the
impostor syndrome, competent people feel
they do not really know what they are doing,
and are just waiting for the other shoe to
drop, for someone to expose them as a fraud.
This is a fairly common phenomenon, with
more than 70 percent of the population
experiencing it at one time or another.
Interestingly, impostor syndrome is worst
among high performers. Case in point, every
year, the incoming class at Stanford Business
School is asked: How many of you in here
feel that you are the one mistake that the
admissions committee made? Every year,
two-thirds of the class immediately raise
their hands.
Low self-confdence hits at all levels of
business, and you would be surprised at how
high it goes.
Charisma-Enhancing
Techniques
Stare like a lover, stand like a gorilla, speak
like a preacher. What does this mean? You
want to establish deep, but warm eye contact.
You want a stance that broadcasts power and
confdence. And you want to speak in a slow,
confdent, resonant and warm voice.
A great preacher is the perfect metaphor for this:
he cares about his people (warmth), he has the
confdence that the weight of God is with him
(power), and he is fervently focused about his
mission (presence).
HERE ARE THREE FAST TIPS TO IMMEDIATELY
INCREASE YOUR CHARISMA LEVEL:
Increase eye contact. Not just the amount
of eye contact, but also the right kind of eye
contact. Intensely focused, but cold, is not the
right kind. Increase the warmth in your eye
contact.
Alpha gorilla body language. Take up more
space literally. Imagine yourself as a huge
gorilla. Look bigger, infate your chest. And
quit nodding. Too much nodding causes you
to appear over-eager and over-anxious.
Pause two seconds before you speak. Of
course, you should not use this technique
with every single sentence. But this tech-
nique does give people the feeling that what
they say is so important that you are absorb-
ing and carefully considering what they have
just said.
Being a leader gives you charisma. If you study the
leaders who have succeeded, thats where charisma comes
from, from leading with power, presence and warmth.
