OBJLC1IVLS:
1o ensure that all guests receie a warm, memorable and personalised welcome to
Goodwood, setting the scene or their stay.
1o manage the Nights 1eam, ensuring that skills and standards are trained, demonstrated
and maintained throughout the team.
1o complete administratie tasks accurately and within gien deadlines.
1o complete night audit and related accounting procedures.
1o be responsible or the security o the hotel and the night operation.
1o implement new procedures to ensure that the serice oered is always releant and
eoling.
1o ensure that guest needs are anticipated and that any requests are actioned.
1o be responsible or managing all costs and salaries related to the department.

Our Service
Lnsure that the serice oered by all team members is personal and memorable. 1hat guest
needs are anticipated and requests ollowed up. Build relationships with guests, ensuring that
they want to return to Goodwood.
Lead by example
Lnsure good communication with all departments throughout the hotel.
Lnsure all regular and VIP guests are known and cared or accordingly.
landle, ollow up and communicate any comments or complaints. Pass on to releant
lODs or Managers i unable to handle.
Be amiliar with and promote hotel acilities and attractions within the estate. Assist guests
with any requests eg inormation, making bookings, directions.
Lnsure that all tasks are completed on each shit by all team members and that a ull and
thorough handoer takes place at the end o the shit.
Be ully conersant with handling o reseration enquiries. Be aware o all current oers.
Lnsure you hae a well ounded understanding o all lotel regulations.
lae a thorough knowledge o Protel and any releant systems. 1rain team members in the
use o these systems. Check accuracy o input into Protel, as well as content and legibility o
registration cards.
Lnsure all team members, build and eectiely utilise guest history proiles
1our all areas o the hotel on a regular basis and report irregularities to releant department
heads.
Lnsure all access to the hotel is secure as required by hotel policy and procedure.
Perorm any related security duties as required oernight.
Record any unusual occurrences or problems arising and report to the lOD`s and take
appropriate action.
Communicate, work with and build a good working relationship with lront Oice Day team
and all other lODs to ensure a consistent leel o serice is oered throughout the hotel 24
hours a day.
Lnsure that members o sta rom all departments report or work on time and contact the
releant lOD to arrange coer i necessary.
As a team, ensure that guest areas including loors, computers, equipment and oices are
clean and tidy at all times.
Check in late arrials and check out early departures in line with hotel procedures action non
arrials and handoer to day team accordingly.
1ake room serice orders, prepare the ood and drinks and delier to guests.
Proide serice in the Circuit Bar ater the late shit team members hae inished their shit.
I a ull clean driing license is held and meets age requirement or insurance, transport
guests within reasonable distances, as and when required.
Attend releant lOD meetings, courses and any other operational meetings that are
required o you during the day to ensure a smooth running hotel.

Our Business
Be ully conersant with and adhere to hotel standards o operation and department
procedures. Question, amend and introduce new procedures as and when appropriate in
consultation with the Operations Manager - Rooms. 1rain the team and ensure that new
standards are understood and become part o the daily procedure.
Be ully aware o all daily and weekly eents in the hotel and on the estate. Produce a weekly
rota that meets the needs o the business and takes into account the needs o the team
members.
Liaise and co-ordinate with the accounts department oer any special billing requests and
procedures.
Balance the cashier at the close o shit and resole any discrepancies in cash loat balancing.
Be responsible or loats whilst on duty, do not inish your shit until all loats hae been
counted and agreed by the on coming shit.
Be ully aware and adhere to all accounting policies and procedures.
Lnsure accuracy o guest bills.
Run a credit check on each shit and report any possible doubtul accounts.
Pass onto the sales department any possible leads, which could deelop into uture business.
Be competent in guest show rounds o the hotel acilities, conerence and priate dinning
rooms.
Lnsure all necessary supplies are aailable or the ront desk and complete orders when
necessary. Be responsible or all newspaper orders and pre plan busy periods and order in
adance when necessary.
Report any aulty equipment to the releant persons. Make sure I.1 , Protel are contacted
immediately should systems ail during the night.
Be amiliar with current licensing regulations.
Be ully aware o departmental igures, budget and objecties
Perorm all pre & post night audit duties.
Complete the Protel audits.
Analyse rate ariance report to ensure correct room rates and reenue control.
Monitor ront desk actiities with regards to rebates, billing instructions, discounted rates in
compliance with hotel policy.
Clean and maintain the work area, materials, and equialent

tidiness. Lnsuring that personal appearance meets and exceeds company guidelines at all

relationships with all other departments in the lotel.

Carry out any other reasonable requests made by the Operation Manager - Rooms or other
managers.
Accept reasonable changes or additions in work hours, which are necessary or the
maintenance o uninterrupted serice to hotel guest and patrons.
Carry out job chats and appraisals with team members, produce training plans and
objecties, carry out training and coordinate training deliered by others.

Health and Safety

Report all potential and real hazards immediately.
Be ully conersant with all departmental lire, Lmergency and Bomb procedures.
Attend all ire, health and saety training
Lnsure the saety o the persons and the property o all within the premises by airly
applying lotel Regulations, by strict adherence to existing laws, statues and applicable
ordinances, and reporting any possible hazards and conditions to the Operations Manager -
Rooms
lae a general awareness o lealth and Saety in relation to all tasks and actiities
undertaken in the department.
Re-use and recycle where possible
Lnsure that all night sta are ire trained in accordance with laid down procedures these
training session must be logged, recorded and signed by the Night Manager and team
member.
