Wonderland in Law School

Once upon a time, there was a girl

Who walked into a strange, new world
This world, she thought she knew all about.
This world, she thought shed figured out
She stepped through the arches full of joy
She shared a smile with every girl and boy
It started with a bang, with stories of wonder
She was ready to blaze through with lightning and thunder
Little did she know, it all was a clever ruse
To lower her defenses, to keep her amused
Getting into this realm was just not easy
But what she saw on the other side made her queasy
This was, in fact, one gigantic maze
She had to go through it, go through it unscathed
Thousands tried, got in, and fought
But thousands died, their dreams left to rot
She turned to the right, hedges high as the sky
She had no wings, she hadnt learned how to fly
She made another turn, she saw she wasnt alone
There, in the center, was someone like her but full-grown
That someone seemed to be waiting for her
She slowly approached, careful and unsure
That someone asked questions, each harder than the last
She maneuvered through each one of them trying not to crash
After all was said and done, she was let through anyway
She had survived; she got to live another day
She went up a couple steps, she felt more certain
But, alas, another person, hiding behind a curtain
She slid open the curtain, wincing at what she saw
This person had papers stacked ten feet tall!
He said, Give these back to me and make sure to condense it.
I want it as soon as possible! Unless, of course, you quit?
Never! She yelled, with the courage of a lion
She uncapped her pen and got down to writin
She gave everything back, concise and comprehensive
The man slowly flipped through the pages, pensive
He let her pass, satisfied with what she supplied
She breathed a sigh of relief, I couldve died!
This part of the maze seemed to be the darkest
Black as far as her eyes could see, from the east to the west
She cracked her knuckles, like she does when shes scared
She knew she was stepping into the dragons lair
She creeped through the den, trying not to drag her feet
She popped a mentos in her mouth to calm her rapid heartbeat
An enormous flame whizzed by her face
The dragon had awoken, it was blocking the exit of the maze!
To get out of here alive, she had to get through it, first
She tried running through its legs in one quick burst
The dragon blocked her way and let out some more fire
She had to find another way to solve this quagmire
I have to slay the dragon, its my only chance
She looked to her right and, there, she saw a lance
She ran in that direction, trying not to get burned
She grabbed the lance; it was hiding behind a fern
She thrust left, she thrust right; she needed to get to its heart
But because of its complex shape, she didnt know where to start
So she gave it her best, got a running start and off the lance flew
Straight to the dragons heart, the lance soared true
She defeated the dragon, she realized, as it fell
And as its head hit the ground she heard a bell
Dyan blinked rapidly, jolted from her reverie
She looked around; her classroom was all she could see
Thats weird, she said to herself, but started to pack her things
She shook her head when she thought of the craziness law school brings
She decided she would treat herself, go out and even binge
But as she walked out the door, she looked at her sleeve and saw a tiny little singe

THE END
