poster will give you a chance to see how you like this type of resource. I
think youll nd that these posters are a GREAT way to do a group project
with a lasting impression. I have MANY of these posters in all different
themes; famous people, holidays, seasons and math review in my TPT store.

This project is so much fun because, in the end, you will have a very large
(approx. 28 x 42), colorful, summer-themed poster to display in your
classroom or at your school. Along the way, students will work together as
a group to create something beautiful. There are 24 pieces per poster for a
4x6 grid.
I have included a digitally colored version of this poster as an example of
the nished colors in case you want to use it to show your students on
your Smart Board or other projector how this will look in the end.
There are 8 different colors used on the poster, so youll have to supply
them (probably in multiples) to the students. They are pretty standard
colors; blue, light blue, pink, yellow, red, green, purple and orange. If each
student doesnt have the exact same shade of the colors, it is alright, it just
adds character to the nal product!
Leave this poster up for the end of the year so your walls dont have to
look bare all summer!

I have (in very small font) written a letter that
corresponds to a key on each sheet telling your
students what color to color each section of their piece.
Students should rst color their part of the poster.
Encourage students to color dark to help cover up the
letters and also to make a more dramatic impact when
it is hanging up.
After each square is colored by your students have them
cut out the squares and write the corresponding letter
and number on the back of the large approximately 7 x
7 square that they just colored (exact size depends on
printer settings). This helps to keep track of each piece.
To assemble your poster you can tape the pieces
together from the back or get a large piece of butcher
paper and tape the pieces to that. Ive even just taped
them right to a bulletin board when I knew I was going
to throw it out in the end. I have assigned numbers and
letters to each piece to help you with putting it together
(I have included a reference sheet for you as well).
When it is all put together and colored you could run it
through your school laminator. Be careful if you are
using crayons because the laminator can melt the
crayons. I suggest colored pencils or markers if you
intend on laminating your poster.
