The article is written and published by the Los Angeles Times. This source is from a
well-known and very popular newspaper. The Los Angeles Times is more than credible
with the informations they present. In the article The Times editorial board writes about
the a perfect solution that could help the homeless problem in Los Angeles. The Cecil
Hotel could have been used to create affordable housing for the homeless and the low-
income population. Instead the Downtown Los Angeles Neighborhood Council opposed
the legislation saying that there is already a great amount of affordable housing and that
the it was a Great project, wrong place. The information that the article provided was
pretty through and straightforward by introducing the problem to how the legislation
could of benefited and created steps towards a solution and a how the opportunity was
missed. Using the information from the article, it reiterates how the lack of affordable
housing contributes to the growing homeless predicament and how we must continue to
take steps to

P.A.T.H. is a group of agencies and organizations that work as one to help end
homelessness. The program is managed by the Center of Mental Health Services and
strives to take steps towards ending homelessness. The information provided were
answers to questions like the amount of homeless people in Los Angeles, reasons why
people become homeless, and many more. From the website, the information it presents
are very brief and straightforward to each question they answer. With what was provided,
the statistics and the persona it presents of people who are homeless were useful for my
argument. The webpage also briefly goes into some reasons why homelessness exists and
how people end up becoming homeless.

In the article, it elaborates on how health officials are becoming concerned of the
tuberculosis outbreak in Skid row. The source is from Reuters which is an international
news agency which operates in more than 94 countries and 20 different languages. The
article explains about how Los Angeles County health officials have become concerned
of the public health in the Los Angeles area and asked for federal help. With the
assistance of the CDC, health officials are keeping a lookout and statistics on the
problem. From the article it provided evidence towards how the tuberculosis outbreak is
causing health officials to be worry therefore the problem is continually growing and
should be handled before it manifests into a greater problem.

where writers write their opinions to be expressed. David Bornstein, a journalist who
specializes in social innovation and social entrepreneurship, writes about a plan to end
homelessness. Bornstein pushes that an effective solution to the issue is through focusing
on solving the lack of affordable housing. One of the campaigns he endorses is an
organization called Common Grounds. The article is from a very trustworthy source and
a reliable author. With the information that was in the article, this endorses how a
program like Common Grounds Street to Home is the best solution.

The Green Doors is a corporation that is working towards finding opportunities for

taxpayer and how housing affects ones health. The information provided was very
straightforward and provides a great amount of statistics that help solidify my argument.
The statistics create a great basis on how homelessness is a major problem and needs to
be addressed.

The Homeless Coalition of Hillsborough County is an organization that strives to bring
together other agencies to break the cycle of homelessness. Stationed in Hillsborough
County, Florida, creates annual homeless counts. The information that was given were
listed out and easy to read providing all the information straightforward. The webpage
provides major factors of homelessness and how affordable housing is one of the bigger
causes. Using the data that they provided gave an idea of the different causes of
homelessness and how it can be addressed.

the lack of housing affordability is a major contributor of homelessness. The
information presented in the article is quite reliable the Equitable Housing Institute is a
national organization solely dedicated to eliminated regulatory barriers to affordable
housing. With the information in the article I was able to elaborate how lack of
affordable housing needs to be addressed.

CBO provides independent, analyses of budgetary and economic issues. The work that
they provide help support Congress in their legislative efforts. The cost estimate includes
a summary and then an breakdown of the costs of the act itself. Using the information
that is provided in the document, I used the statistics to see how feasible and beneficial.

on protecting America from health, safety and security threats. As a governmental source,
the information is unbiased and provides raw data for interpretation. The article
elaborates on the trend of tuberculosis in the United States. With ample references that
support its claim and the credibility of a governmental agency, this source provides
valuable information. With the statistics it provides, it gave me more evidence of the
growing problem of tuberculosis and thus support my thesis.

The Centers of Disease Control is a government agency that focuses its efforts towards
maintaining disease and the spread of it. The governmental agency holds accounts and records of
numerous statistics on the diseases and public health issues. The article talks about the
correlation between a tuberculosis outbreak and homeless shelter in Illinois. If the correlation
between the two is seen in Illinois, it can also happen in Los Angeles. With detailed evidence
and statistics, the authors present a great case. Applying the information provided form the
article, I connected how the outbreak is getting out of hand and can become a major problem in
the end.
