Grade 10 Regular Math Course Outline

First Quarter

I. Objectives:
At the end of the quarter, the student should be able to:
1. apply their knowledge of set notation in classifying and analyzing data in real life situations.
2. show the relationship between sets by using Venn diagrams;
3. apply strategies and results from simpler problems to more complex problems;
4. make connections in real life to solve complex problems;
5. appreciate the beauty and elegance of mathematics;
6. show understanding of the properties (postulates, theorems, axioms) and relationships among geometric
figures;
7. solve theoretical and real-life problems relating to right triangles using various geometric properties
(theorems, postulates, axioms).

IV. On Practice Tests
Practice tests are sets of exercises accomplished by the students in class under test conditions. Although results
of these are not graded, they are considered an essential part of providing the student, his parents, and the
teacher of performance feedback to better prepare the student for long tests and other graded assessments.
