Council has recently determined its Advisory Committees for the coming term. We are
now seeking to appoint members for our Multicultural Advisory Committee.
The Committee comprises representatives from key culturally and linguistically specific
organisations/groups and from multicultural agencies together with nominated Councillors
and officers of the City of Canterbury. The Committee meets bi-monthly to review Council
plans and programs as they affect our community, advise us about strategies to improve
the delivery of those programs and to discuss emerging issues facing residents of
culturally and linguistically diverse (CALD) backgrounds, especially those from emerging
communities.
The Committee will be advising Council on:
issues and matters of concern to people and communities from culturally and
linguistically diverse backgrounds living or working in the City of Canterbury;
enhancing community harmony.
We will be selecting representatives on the basis of the information provided in this
nomination form and on their ability to represent the views, concerns and suggestions of
the community.
