1-2 drops Fragrance

How its Made:

Soap: Mix distilled water and lye together in a beaker. While heating the mixture,
stir until clear. In a crock pot, mix oils together while heating. Before you mix the
two make sure that both mixtures are between 40 and 50 degrees celsius. As they
mix, they will start producing a pudding like substance called trace. The coloring
and Fragrance should be added at the first sign of trace and then the whole mixture
should then be transferred into molds and to sit overnight. In the morning, soap can
be shaped and smoothed but saponification process will not be complete until at
least 2 weeks after.

Bath Bombs: Mix all dry substances into a large bowl. Make sure there are no
clumps and that it is evenly spread. Then, mix all liquid substances into a separate
bowl and mix it in with the dry mixture, one tsp at a time. Do not worry about the
liquid being completely mixed. When mixing the liquid into the dry, the product
may foam slightly. Try and mix the foam into the mixture and it should be fine.
When the liquid is completely dissolved in the dry shape them as you wish and let
them sit. You now have bath bombs.

Salt Scrub: Pour salt into a bowl. Measurements depend on your need for scrub.
Next, you pour in an equal amount of oil, and then some so that you get some extra
moisture. Too much oil will make your hands feel filmy and oily so be careful the
amount. Then you add in the fragrance and coloring and mix it all together.

Sugar Scrub: Same as Salt scrub.

Chemistry:

Soap: There is actually a scientific name for the creation of soap. When lye is
mixed with oil (which are fats), it creates a double displacement reaction, meaning
two molecules trade elements to create two new substances. In this case, the
outcomes are glycerol and soap. This whole process is known as saponification.

Bath Bombs: The bubbles that occur when bath bombs get wet are actually
because the water dissolves the baking soda (the base) and citric acid (the acid),
letting them mix and creating the reaction. All the extra add ins are there to either
add skin soothing properties, or to keep the base and acid at bay until it hits the
water. For example, the epsom salt and cornstarch absorb the liquids so that they
dont let the baking soda and citric acid mix. And the boraxs only purpose is to
make sure the acid and the base stay stable. When the bomb hits the water, they
dissolve, letting their ions flow freely amongst each other and creating bubbly,
fizzy fun.

Salt Scrub: Salt scrub doesnt have any big chemical reactions like fizz or
saponification. However, because salt happens to be a polar molecule, and oil is
nonpolar, these two stay completely separate from each other when mixed
together. When you place the scrub on your skin, the oil in the scrub mixes with
the oil on your skin and since the salt is covered in oil, it sticks easily. The salt
does well in adding healthy minerals to your skin and getting rid of rough or dry
skin in calloused areas or on peely sun burns. However, it can sting slightly when
placed on sensitive skin, cuts or irritated areas.

Sugar Scrub: Sugar scrub is softer than Salt Scrub and much stickier and basically
has the same reaction because, like salt, it is a polar molecule. It is recommended
over salt if you have sensitive skin but does not add the extra minerals to your skin
you obtain from salt. The type of scrub you use is entirely your choice, both add a
smooth feeling and a shine to your skin it really depends on you and your opinion.
