TR: Why do we prefer object oriented languages? Advantages and disadvantages of OO lang..
TR: what is segmentation n paging? Types of segmentation.

Where is a program stored?

What is cache and RAM/ROM.?

WAP to generate diff combination of 3 distinct characters without repetition.(in any lang)

Concepts of overloading, polymorphism ,inheritance and threads was asked.

Management Interview:

I had my MI and TI together..for my MI I was asked all routine questions..
Tell me ur strengths and weakness..

Do u knw whts going on in IT industry..recent activities in IT sector..
Whyy should I hire u?

What do u knw abt TCS? Why do u want to join this company..Will any other company besides TCS do..? Do you have facts and figures to support your arguments?

Do you have any of your acquaintances in TCS?
Where do you see yourself 5 years later..?

Are you ready to relocate?Veg/Nonveg...... etc etc
After this was a complete nail biting tension of TI+MI results.....Some 25 mins later i was taken for HR round.

HR Round:

This was the best interview..all similar questions.....gave a puzzle to solve....asked about diff languages i knew..was made to speak in a few of them.. :) sir was very lenient and hence i din have any sort of
uneasiness.
Hi, I am Srinivas currently pursuing 4th B-Tech in gdlv. I attended for TCS campus recruitment. As I am in top 5 I have no aptitude test. So my interview (T.R&H.R) proceeded in this way. Firstly T.R.

Int1: Yes, come in.
Me: Good afternoon sir.

Int1: Good afternoon, why are you looking so dull?
Me: (maintained silence).

Int1: OK, take your seat.
Me: Thank you sir.

Int1: Had your lunch.
Me: Yes sir.

Int1: What curry?
Me: Banyan fry (i took more than 1/2 min).

Int1: I didn't found it in canteen today.
Me: I ate in student mess.

Int1: Why didn't you invite me?
Me: (maintained silence).

Int1: What do you mean by circular and co-cirular? (i mentioned them in my resume).
Me: Explained.

Int1: Just list out what you have written here in circular.
Me: I told 1st 3rd and 4th statements, finally 2nd statement.

Int1: Co-circular?
Me: Told.

Int1: You belong to ece background?
Me: Yes sir.

Int1&Int2: Both talked for some time, int2 started questioning. (i think int2 has good grip over ece subjects).

Int2: Tell me about your project.
Me: Explained for 10 min nearly.

Int2: Posed questions on my theory.
Me: Explained.

Int2: Suppose I'm an airtel customer, called to bsnl customer how the comm. Is worked between us.
Me: Explained.

Int2: Why sometimes our phone shows no signal& sometimes its busy.
Me: Explained.

Int1: Who is your favorite actor.
Me: Chiru.

Int1: Then.
Me: Pavan kalyan.

Int1&Int2: They smiled.

Int1: Do you know JAVA.
Me: No sir, I will learn it soon.

Int1: You know only c?
Me: Yes sir.

Int1: Perfectly?
Me: I prepared well sir.

Int1: How many days?
Me: For a weak sir.

Int1: What is the size of long int.
Me: 10.

Int1: 10 what?
Me: Sorry sir 10 bytes.

Int1: Sure.
Me: Yes sir.

Int1: Is that 3-d array exist?
Me: Yes sir.

Int1: What is diff. Between 1-d, 3-d array.
Me: Explained wrt memory.

Int1: What is malloc?
Me: Explained.

I found int1 satisfied with my answers he filled a form and he left the room.

Int2: Tell me what you know about tatagroups, not tcs.
Me: Told.

Int2: Current chaiman of tata groups?
Me: Told.

Int2: Who is going to be the next?

Int2: Told.

Int2: When do you prepared all these?
Me: Once my frnd gowtham krishna took a seminar on tata groups, and I remembered them sir.

Int1 entered into room.

Int1: Why did you choose ece?, I would have selected if you are a cse student.
Me: Told.

Int1: What you will you do if I didn't select you.
Me: Told.

Int1: If you are the interviewer for your core company, would you like select cse student?
Me: Yes sir.

Int2: Why?
Me: Told (a talented guy can workout things anywhere).

Int2: Tell me any 5 other tata groups other than tcs.
Me: Told.

Int1: Tell me what you know about IT sector.
Me: Told.

Int2: Any practical examples?
Me: Told (our library. ).

Int2 told me other areas like ATM machines, railway reservation, bank accounting.

Int1: Ok, all the best.
Me: Thank you sir.

Totally it took about 35 min. Initially they tried to beat my confidence, but gradually.
They behaved friendly with me. Just it is the matter of confidence in tr (prepare c well).

Me: fine sir..
INT1:Anything about yourself ( He is observing my resume )

Me : Myself sriram,I learned a lot from my surrounding people.my father is the first person to encourage my every aspect.that gives me confidence.(started with school life and ended with engg.)

INT1 : what is your biggest achievement? (This time he fully scanned my resume )

Me: once hod mam asked me to explain something to all d students(flash)(continued that for 2 min).That is my greatest achievement

INT1:Being an ece student why tcs??

Me: Sir, IT provides global services anywhere .once if you enter into core industry you have to stick to that once but IT can provide solution to any organization. Moreover In TCS is also more concerned with comm.,
that is the main reason.

INT1: Do you know assembly lang??

Me: Yes sir..i also used it in my mini project

INT1:can you explain that program logic.

Me:Actually, I don't know much about the logic. But I found that the interview has very less knowledge on electronics. So, I explained it for nearly 10 mins.

INT1: What are the recent technologies in software?

Me: confused with the question.. ledtv, augmented reality.

INT2: Uou are telling about your core trends. Anything related to software ?

Me: biometric..

INT2: yes, u r right. Do you know, how it works.

Me:Explained how we are using this in our hostel while going for out pass .the way we are using in college for faculty attendance purpose.

INT2: He smiled and asked. So every day you have permission to go out from hostel and rome in rajam?

Me : There is no place to rome in rajam.We harld go outside and that to for restaurant only.(He smiled).Then he explaine about how biometrics works(Nearly 10 min)

INT2:Do you know any programing lang?

Me: C, basics of Java

INT1: What are loop control statements?

Me: for, while

INT1: What is diff btw while and do while?

Me:I explained the diff between for and while ,then he interfered and asked again to the the diff btwn while and do while.

Me : Told something like one is entry controlled loop and another is exit controlled loop.

INT1:what are the control statements you know?
Me:if ,switch

INT1:can you write program for to print 3 2 1 /n 3 2 /n 3

Me:written and explained

INT1:write any prog using if .

Me:I wrote biggest number among three again I told I have a simple logic for that

INT2:Very good.what are your areas of interest?

Me:Image processing, signal processing

INT1:Again you r telling core, anything related to software?

Me: No subject in specific but I want to learn java..

INT1:you mentioned that u know web-designing..what do u know??

Me: I don't know coding but I can design a website using dreamweaver

INT2:ok,Its actually an application for designing ok..what is your main project ?

Me:It is used to reduce radiations coming from cell towers by minimizing peak power to average power ratio.(I know that they have very less knowledge on ece,so I continued without any interference.)

INT2:How would you like to implement this in real time??

Me : I thought for a while and I gave one line answer,We just strated d project 15 days ago.so No idea

INT2:what will you do from morning to night..

Me: Explained.

INT2: Do you have anything to ask?

Me:what things we have to learn to compete with cse people in It sector

INT2: Java,oracle. He explained this for 10 min nearly. He told nearly 15 to 16 topics and I was happy at that time bcz he responded will to my ques. I remembered c, java, oracle, dbms, php.

Thank U sir. In a hurry I took the rough sheet with me and I left my file there. But I realized it in very next second and immediately gave that sheet to him (He is busy in writing feedback about me.) Thank you.

Come out of the room and I waited outside and observing him. He has written something on my form for about 5 mins.(OMG !!!). Then a person came and told that YOU ARE IN. Aaa..Very Happy at that time. And its
nearly 11.30 and they told that HR is t around 8.30 the next day.
