Last Friday we took our turn in hosting the

Assembly. We did lots of practice and loved

singing our jungle songs, which were Jungle Beat,
Were Going to the Jungle Today, Funkey Monkey
and Matilda Gorilla. We all love to sing, and
weve learnt lots of cool songs this year. This is
what some of us wrote about our assembly:

Tsean Winmar: I liked the bit when we went out
the door. It was fun and I sang Funkey
Monkey.
Charlotte Maguire: I liked it when I said
Would Miss Blythe please present the
Honour Certificates. It
was fun. I love big
assemblies.
Lucca Cramer: I liked
it when I talked on the
microphone. It was fun.
Charlotte Jozwiak: I liked it
when we went for afternoon tea
and I loved it.
Brock Wilkinson: I liked it when
this crowd was cheering at us.
Ethan Gardiner: I liked the part when we went
out of the hall.
We also told some Animal facts. Here are some of
them:
Did you know that elephants can live for up to 70
years?....Braxton Drummond
Did you know that snakes can see through their
eyelids?... Jye Shorter
Did you know that a Giraffes tongue can be up to
half a metre long?...Fay Wiggins
Did you know that a crocodile cannot stick its
tongue out?...Robbie Johnston
Did you know that Tigers are the biggest of all
the cats?...Finn Robinson

We also did paintings of our animals.

Nationally Consistent Collection of Data for
School Students with Disability
Our school is part of a national project about
students with a disability and/or learning
difficulties. We have been asked to provide data
about the number and learning needs of children
at our school. The name of the school and the
name of the students will not be reported.
Information about the different types of needs,
the programs and resources the school uses to
overcome barriers and support children with
special educational needs will be collected.
We believe it is important to contribute to this
because it will help Governments and the
Department develop better policies that
acknowledge the level of resources needed in
schools to meet the needs of all students in
Western Australia.
If you do not want your child/children to be
included please make contact with the school
office to ensure we are aware that your child is
not to be included.
The survey is to be conducted on 1 August, early
next term.

Presented By:
FLURO DISCO 26/06/2014

Dear Parents/Carers,

At the Yakamia P&C meeting held
on the 10/06/2014 we collated
registered volunteer numbers for both junior and
senior discos and we are still needing a couple
more helpers for the junior disco but our main
concern is the senior disco. At this point we have
only 3 volunteers registered and we are needing
at least 15 to be able to still go ahead with the
disco.

We will have no choice but to CANCEL both
junior and senior discos because of safety
concerns and that decision will be made on
Monday 16/06/2014 at 3pm.

Volunteers at the disco will be given a task that
they are comfortable with and duties include
general supervision, toilet numbers supervision,
entry and exit supervision, ticket sales, canteen
sales and at the conclusion of the disco ensuring
all children leave with the appropriate person.

If there is any way you can help on the night it
would be greatly appreciated as the discos are one
of our major fundraisers for the P&C and this
money helps support your child and our school so
it would be a shame to have to cancel it.

Please contact the school ASAP to register your
help.

Thank you.
Regards
