ME001 B Ocean Wood Campground (X04) NOTE: This is a VERY EXCLUSIVE campground that does
NOT allow anything or anyone that makes the slightest amount of noise. The cost of sites, even if theyd let
you in, is VERY prohibitive! A campground noted for almost being a nature preserve. You can hear the rhythmic
ocean waves in your campsite. You can kayak in the ocean coves or on a nearby lake. You can climb around the
rocky shore or watch lobster fisherman from your vantage point. There are several good places nearby to eat.
Outside the campground there are many sights to see including lighthouses, charming villages, quaint shops and art
galleries.

Schoodic Point is the main point of interest on the peninsula, and part of the Acadia National Park, although
the main section is located across Frenchman Bay. At the very tip of Schoodic Point you can watch the sea
below send shooting geysers of spray 40 feet into the air as waves break on the shore. Ocean Wood
Campground is located about 40 miles east of Bar Harbor. See article for directions.
