1
Krug Vintage Brut 1996
Reims
The 1996 Krug Vintage remains one
of the greatest Champagnes ever
made. It is also far less expensive
than either the Clos du Mesnil or Clos
dAmbonnay but equally as delicious.
This bottle is stratospheric, with layers
of explosive fruit that ow effortlessly
to the multi-dimensional, captivating
nish. It is another eternal Champagne
from Krug. A. Galloni for TWA, 98 pts.

Chateau Margaux 2003
Margaux, 1er Cru Classe
Am I being too stingy with the
2003 Chateau Margaux? A wine of
extraordinary complexity and intensity,
it reveals a deep purple color, a style
not unlike the 1990 Margaux (possibly
even more concentrated), a velvety
texture, and notes of spring owers
interwoven with camphor, melted
licorice, creme de cassis, and pain
grille. Not a blockbuster, it offers
extraordinary intensity as well as a
surreal delicacy/lightness. There is
riveting freshness to this offering, which
tips the scales at a lofty (for this estate)
13.5% alcohol, as well as an alluring
sweetness and accessibility. It probably
will tighten up over the next few
years. Nevertheless, it is a profound
Chateau Margaux that brings to mind
a hypothetical blend of the 1982 and
1990. Anticipated maturity: 2011-
2035. R. Parker, 99 pts. 04/06

Chateau Cos dEstournel 2005
St. Estephe, 2eme Cru Classe
While I am not convinced the
2005 Cos dEstournel will eclipse
the compelling 2003 Cos, it is
unquestionably another superb classic
from proprietor Michel Reybier and his
brilliant winemaker, Jean-Guillaume
Prats. Made from an unusually high
percentage of Cabernet Sauvignon
(78%) and the balance mostly Merlot
with a tiny dollop of Cabernet Franc,
this superb effort requires plenty of
time in the bottle. It boasts an inky/
purple color as well as a glorious
perfume of licorice, Asian spices,
creme de cassis, blackberries, and
toasty oak. This full-bodied St.-Estephe
is exceptionally powerful, pure, and
dense with a layered mid-palate that
builds like a skyscraper. While there are
massive tannins, they are remarkably
velvety and well-integrated in this big,
backstrapping effort that should enjoy
an unusually long life. Forget it for 8-10
years, and drink it between 2017-
2040. R. Parker, 98 pts. 04/08

Paul Jaboulet Aine Hermitage La
Chapelle 1990
Northern Rhone
u: 2.5cm
The 1990 La Chapelle is the sexy
and opulent. I had the 1990 at the
Jaboulet tasting, and again out of a
double magnum three months ago.
On both occasions it was spectacular,
clearly meriting a three-digit score.
The modern day equivalent of the
1961, it deserves all the attention it has
garnered.
The color remains an opaque purple,
with only a slight pink at the edge.
Spectacular aromatics offer up aromas
of incense, smoke, blackberry fruit,
cassis, barbecue spice, coffee, and
a touch of chocolate. As it sits in the
glass, additional nuances of pepper
and grilled steak emerge. There is
extraordinary freshness for such a
mammoth wine in addition to abundant
tannin, an amazing 60-second nish,
and a level of glycerin and thick, eshy
texture that have to be tasted to be
believed.
Despite its youthfulness, the 1990 La
Chapelle is lovely to drink, although it
will be even better with another 5-6
years of cellaring; it should age for 35-
40+ years. Anticipated maturity: 2005-
2050. R. Parker, 100 pts. 06/00

Chateau Montelena Cabernet
Sauvignon The Montelena Estate
1997
Napa
There are 10,200 cases of the
remarkable 1997 Cabernet Sauvignon
Estate. Opaque purple-colored with a
dense, chewy, full-bodied personality,
it displays abundant cassis, mineral,
and earth notes. This brilliantly made,
super-concentrated, pure, blockbuster
possesses sweet tannin as well as a
terric nish. Having added additional
weight since last year, this sumptuous,
multilayered, profoundly concentrated
Cabernet contains 14% alcohol. It is a
candidate for 25-30 years of longevity.

Flirting with perfection, the 2010
Cabernet Sauvignon Beckstoffer To
Kalon Vineyard RBS from clone 337
was aged in new Darnajou barrels
(80%) and the rest in new Taransaud
barrels. There were 410 cases
produced, which is several hundred
cases less than the production in 2012.
An unbelievable red wine, it boasts an
inky/purple color as well as abundant
notes of charcoal, white chocolate,
toast, new saddle leather, blueberries,
blackberries, creme de cassis and
licorice. As the wine sits in the glass,
some chocolaty, smoky elements also
emerge. This virtually perfect Cabernet
Sauvignon has been awlessly made
and should age effortlessly for 25-30+
years. R. Parker, 99 pts. 12/13

Spottswoode Cabernet Sauvignon
Estate 2007
Napa
Retasting the 2007 Cabernet
Sauvignon was a treat as I believe it
is the greatest Cabernet Sauvignon
Spottswoode has ever produced.
Wonderful aromas of black raspberries,
blueberries, black currants and owers
jump from the glass of this dark ruby/
purple-tinged Cabernet. As I have
stated before, if Chateau Margaux
were in Napa Valley, it would be
Spottswoode. The purity, balance and
delicacy of this wine are impressive.
Perhaps slightly less dense and
powerful than the 2008, the 2007 is
awlessly put together with nothing out
of place. It, too, should age effortlessly
for 20-30+ years. R. Parker, 99 pts.

Chateau Cos dEstournel 2009
St. Estephe, 2eme Cru Classe
One of the greatest young wines I
have ever tasted, the monumental
2009 Cos dEstournel has lived up to
its pre-bottling potential. A remarkable
effort from winemaking guru Jean-
Guillaume Prats and owner Michel
Reybier, this blend of 65% Cabernet
Sauvignon and the rest Merlot (33%)
and a touch of Cabernet Franc (2%)
was cropped at 33 hectoliters per
hectare. It boasts an inky/black/purple
color along with an extraordinary
bouquet of white owers interwoven
with blackberry and blueberry liqueur,
incense, charcoal and graphite. The
wine hits the palate with extraordinary
purity, balance and intensity as well as
perfect equilibrium, and a seamless
integration of tannin, acidity, wood
and alcohol. An iconic wine as well
as a remarkable achievement, it is
the greatest Cos dEstournel ever
produced. It is approachable enough
at present that one could appreciate
it with several hours of decanting, but
it will not hit its prime for a decade,
and should age effortlessly for a half
century. R. Parker, 100 pts. 02/12

Chateau Montrose 2010
St. Estephe, 2eme Cru Classe
The 2010 Montrose is a fabulous
wine, and I was leaning toward giving
it a three-digit score, which it may
ultimately merit after it resolves some
of its very sweet tannin. It is not as
soft or amboyant as the 2009, but it
is a great classic, coming in at 13.9%
natural alcohol. Representing 64% of
the total production, the nal blend
is 53% Cabernet Sauvignon, 37%
Merlot, 9% Cabernet Franc and 1%
Petit Verdot (which is one percent
different than the barrel sample blends
that were presented). Inky bluish/
purple in color, with classic blueberry,
black currant, crushed rock and oral
notes, hints of graphite, and lots of
wild mountain berry fruit, this wine is
extravagantly rich, has very sweet but
noticeable tannin, laser-like precision,
a massive, full-bodied mouthfeel and
a nish of close to 50+ seconds.
This remarkable wine will probably
tighten up somewhat in the bottle,
and need most of a decade to shed
some tannin and its rather grapy,
primary personality. The nish blew me
away, and the overall power, richness
and balance of this wine are virtually
perfect. Look for it to drink well for half
a century or more. R Parker, 99 pts.

Chateau Pontet Canet 2010
Pauillac, 5eme Cru Classe
An absolutely amazing wine, from
grapes harvested between the end
of September and October 17, this
blend of 65% Cabernet Sauvignon,
30% Merlot and the rest Cabernet
Franc and Petit Verdot has close to
15% natural alcohol. It comes from
one of the few biodynamic vineyards
in Bordeaux, but you are likely to
see many more, given the success
that Tesseron seems to be having at
all levels, both in his vineyards and
in his fermentation/winemaking. An
astounding, compelling wine with
the classic Pauillac nose more often
associated with its cross-street
neighbor, Mouton-Rothschild, creme
de cassis, there are also some violets
and other assorted oral notes. The
wine has off-the-charts massiveness
and intensity but never comes across
as heavy, overbearing or astringent.
The freshness, laser-like precision,
and full-bodied, massive richness
and extract are simply remarkable to
behold and experience. It is very easy,
to become jaded tasting such great
wines from a great vintage, but it is
really a privilege to taste something as
amazing as this. Unfortunately, it needs
a good decade of cellaring, and thats
assuming it doesnt close down over
the next few years. This is a 50- to 75-
year wine from one of the half-dozen
or so most compulsive and obsessive
proprietors in all of Bordeaux. Is there
anything that proprietor Alfred Tesseron
is not doing right? Talk about an estate
that is on top of its game! Pontet-
Canets 2010 is a more structured,
tannic and restrained version of their
most recent perfect wine, the 2009.
Kudos to Pontet-Canet! R. Parker,

Vieux Chateau Certan 2009
Pomerol
The 2009s nearly 14% natural
alcohol, exquisite ripeness, and
incredible complex bouquet of Asian
spices, fruitcake, licorice, smoke,
blackberries and black currants are to
die for. A blend of 84% Merlot and the
rest equal parts Cabernet Franc and
Cabernet Sauvignon, it possesses a
viscous texture as well as a freshness
and vibrancy that are remarkable
given the wines weight, richness
and potential massiveness. This
extraordinary effort is one of the nest
Vieux Chateau Certans made over the
last sixty years. It will undoubtedly shut
down in bottle, requiring a decade or
more of cellaring. It should keep for 50
years thereafter. Proprietor Thienpont
thinks it is a modern day version of the
1948. R. Parker, 99 pts. 02/12

The 2009 Syrah The Thrill Of
impresses for its poise and underlying

violets sit on a core of rm tannin as
this powerful wine opens up in the

across as very, very young. The
intensity of the fruit and the oak are
dominant at present. In another few
years the wine should be spectacular.
The Thrill Of... is 90% Syrah, 6%

compelling. The 11% Syrah and 5%

Taittinger Comtes de Champagnes
1988
Reims
one loose label with nicked edges
I am blown away by the 1988 Comtes
de Champagne. Still incredibly fresh,
the 1988 Comtes ows with intense
mineral notes that frame a vibrant
core of Chardonnay fruit. The color,
aromatics and avors are all remarkably
youthful, while the crystalline purity
of the nish suggests the 1988 will
drink well for another two decades,
if not longer. Readers who enjoy
mature Champagne will need to be
patient. Still, I see no reason to deny
gratication; this is a rock star wine!
Anticipated maturity: 2010-2030. A.

Chateau Mouton Rothschild 2000
Pauillac, 1er Cru Classe
Perhaps the most beautiful packaging
ever on a Bordeaux bottle, Baroness
Philippine de Rothschild literally
produced a work of art in the gold-
engraved bottle of 2000 Mouton
Rothschild. Of course, one cant
drink the glass, but this is a top-ight
Mouton Rothschild, eclipsed only by
the 2006 and 2009. A rich, tannic,
earthy style, with loads of creme de
cassis and oral notes, the nal blend
of 86% Cabernet Sauvignon and 14%
Merlot is a full-bodied wine with plenty
of coffee, earth, chocolatey notes, and
still plenty of tannin to resolve. I gave it
an anticipated maturity range of 2015-
2050 back in 2003, and that looks on
target. R. Parker, 96+ pts. 06/10

Leroy Chambolle Musigny 2004
Cote de Nuits
signs of old seepage
This is equally stylish and classy
though completely different with a
stunningly complex and ultra oral
nose combining spice, earth and dark
pinot fruit aromas that continue onto
the detailed, powerful and fantastically
long avors that stain the palate with
almost painful intensity and sap. This
may very well equal the Vosne one day
as the qualitative difference between
the two is subtle indeed. Burghound,

Leroy Nuits St. Georges 2004
Cote de Nuits
signs of old seepage
Surprisingly, given the vineyards
blended into the respective cuves,
this is actually more elegant than
the Bourgogne with a oral and
wonderfully spicy aromatic prole and
delicious, sweet, textured and intense
medium full avors that are powerful,
muscular and powerful, all wrapped in
a strikingly long nish. This is a wow
wine. Burghound, 93 pts. 04/06

Guigal La Landonne 1998
Northern Rhone
The 1998 Cote Rotie La Landonne is
a perfect wine...at least for my palate.
Its saturated black/purple color is
accompanied by an extraordinary
nose of smoke, incense, tapenade,
creosote, blackberry, and currant
aromas. It is densely packed with
blackberry, trufe, chocolate,
and leather-like avors. The wine
possesses high tannin, but perfect
harmony, impeccable balance, and
gorgeous integration of acidity, alcohol,
and tannin. It is a tour de force in
winemaking. Anticipated maturity:

Guigal La Turque 1999
Northern Rhone
The 1999 Cote Rotie La Turque
reveals notes of toasty vanilla and
espresso in addition to Asian spices,
mocha, pepper, blackberries, creosote,
and roasted meats. The exotic perfume
is followed by a wine with phenomenal
intensity, sweet, well-integrated tannin,
huge body, and loads of concentrated
fruit. It is a tour de force in winemaking.
Anticipated maturity: 2006-2025
What is so remarkable about this
cuvee is its tremendous layers of avor,
awesome texture, and perfect balance.

The monumental 1999 Vigna
dAlceo is a 20,000-bottle cuvee of
85% Cabernet Sauvignon and 15%
Sangiovese aged in oak. It boasts
an exceptionally provocative nose of
liquid minerals, graphite, plums, creme
de cassis, and cherry liqueur. It is
fabulously concentrated yet remarkably
light on its feet, with medium to full
body, sweet tannin, and layer upon
layer of avor nuances. There is plenty
of glycerin in this rich, but neither heavy
nor overbearing effort. This is a thrilling
tour de force! However, it requires
cellaring. Anticipated maturity: 2005-

Screaming Eagle 2007
Napa
As impossible as it might seem,
the 2007 Cabernet Sauvignon takes
things to another level. An exquisite,
celestial bouquet melds into endless
layers of fruit as this rich, voluptuous
wine blossoms on the palate. Full-
bodied and seductive, the 2007
conquers all of the senses with its
head spinning, beautiful personality.
As always, Screaming Eagle is a bit
more restrained next to Napa Valleys
other heavy hitters, yet the pedigree
of this opulent vintage comes through
in spades. A kaleidoscope of aromas
and avors ows through to the
creamy, textured nish. I have tasted
the 2007 several times recently. It has
always been perfect. My only issue
with the 2007 is that it appears to be
shutting down just a touch. Anticipated
maturity: 2015-2027. A. Galloni for

Shafer Vineyards Hillside Select
1999
Napa
The 1999 Cabernet Sauvignon
Hillside Select is one of the nest
wines of the vintage. The 14.9%
alcohol is barely noticeable given
the amazing concentration and
intensity. A saturated opaque purple
color is followed by scents of vanilla,
blackberry liqueur, crushed minerals,
and a hint of white owers. There is
stunning intensity, tremendous purity,
full body, and a remarkable, seamless
nish (amazing given the elevated,
austere tannin). Give the 1999 another
2-3 years of cellaring, and enjoy it over
the following two decades or longer. A
brilliant effort! R. Parker, 97 pts. 12/03

Shafer Vineyards Hillside Select
2004
Napa
The Cabernet Sauvignon Hillside
Select has been one of Napas true
rst-growths since the early 1990s. The
2004 exhibits a dense opaque purple
color along with spectacular, almost
surreal levels of fruit that are never
heavy, overripe or awed. Its beautiful
notes of creme de cassis, licorice
and subtle oak (this cuvee spends
32 months in 100% new French
barrels), skyscraper-like texture and
extraordinarily long nish are all superb.
This is a great wine from a great family
who has done everything necessary to
produce a world-class wine that can
compete with any wine made from
the Cabernet Sauvignon grape. You
cant say enough positives about the
Shafers. Drink this 2004 Hillside Select
over the next 20-25 years, although it
could be even more stupendous in 40-
50 years. R. Parker, 98+ pts. 04/14

Abreu Howell Mountain 2009
Napa
The 2009 Proprietary Red Howell
Mountain wraps around the palate with
masses of blue and black fruit, smoke,
tar, incense and licorice. A dense,
resonant wine, the 2009 stands out for
its extraordinarily vivid fruit and equally
compelling personality. This is pure
Howell Mountain at its very best. With
time in the glass the 2009 opens up
beautifully. There is more than enough
fruit to ll out the wines huge, broad-
shouldered frame. A. Galloni for TWA,

Bodegas Muga Aro 2001
Rioja
The 2001 Aro looks as if it has not
aged one iota. Similarly, the nose
is precocious with vibrant cassis,
blueberry, hoisin and mint. The
palate has a silky smooth entry with
chocolate-tinged, dark cherry fruit
laced with a touch of salt. It has a great
arching backbone and a tannic nish
suggesting that this could easily last
20 or 30 years. Drink 2016-2025. N.

Northern Rhone

one with slight signs of old seepage
with lightly corroded capsule, one
wine-stained label, one nicked label,
one torn label, lightly bin-soiled labels
Chave has always loved the 1983 (a
sentiment I share, but the tannin in the
wine is worrisome). It seems to me
that his 1983 has the potential to be
super, but it still remains charmless
and austere. Deep dark ruby in color
with some amber at the edge, it has
a profound concentration of ripe,
smoky, berry fruit and Asian spices, full
body, exceptional depth and length,
as well as a formidable tannin level.
Anticipated maturity: 2003-2025. R.

Bruno Clair Chambertin Clos de
Beze 2005
Cote de Nuits
The most complete wine here with
a spicy, earthy, gamy and strikingly
elegant if presently reserved nose
of musky black cherry fruit aromas
that introduce rich, sweet and mouth
coating avors that explode on the
strikingly long nish. This is a classy
thoroughbred of a wine with superb
complexity, impeccable balance and
huge length, all delivered with both
grace and power. Be prepared to be
patient however as this will need time.

Comtes Lafon Meursault Les
Perrieres 2002
Cote de Beaune
The nose here is elegance personied
with honeysuckle, green apple and
limestone aromas merging seamlessly
into impressively precise, crisp and
medium full avors that pack absolutely
superb mid-palate punch, the intensity
of which continues into the extended
palate staining nish. The avors are
quite powerful, rm and crystalline,
underscored by pronounced and
ripe acidity buffered by a lovely touch
of sweet and sappy extract. Simply
beautiful juice that arguably possesses
the best balance of any wine here.

Ponsot Chapelle Chambertin 2009
Cote de Nuits
Somewhat surprisingly, here the nose
is even more elegant than that of the
Griotte with its cool, airy and pure red
cherry-liqueur, spice and essence of
liquid minerality suffused nose that
leads to dense, intense and equally
mineral-driven big-bodied but rened
avors, all wrapped in a beautifully
detailed, explosively long and youthfully
austere nish. This is a serious and
quite restrained effort that will require
the better part of two decades to reach
its full apogee. Burghound, (93-95)

Cote de Beaune
u: 3.5cm, nicked capsule at top, lightly

Golden yellow color. When rst
opened, there were slight hints of
oxidation yet with air, they blew off
to reveal ripe, exotic and fully mature
aromas that display completely
secondary characteristics (but no sous
bois) and lead to rich, full and vibrant
full-bodied avors blessed with buckets
of dry extract that are rich to the point
of opulence yet the acidity is more than
sufcient to maintain excellent balance.
For my taste, this has reached its
plateau and I see no reason to hold it
further; that said, there is no reason to
rush to drink up either. In short, a stellar
vintage even by the incredibly high
standards of this wine. Tasted three
times with relatively consistent notes
save for one slightly oxidized bottle that
may have suffered by less than perfect
storage. Burghound, 96 pts. 04/08

Mastroberardino Taurasi Riserva

Campania
u: top shoulder
The 1968 Taurasi Riserva is simply
magnicent. Marvelously dense and
ethereal, this classy, breathtaking
Taurasi offers up a mlange of plums,
prunes, licorice, herbs, spices and
minerals, showing incredible detail
and tons of inner perfume. Amazingly,
the 1968 comes across is incredibly
youthful and vigorous. Today, it looks
to be developing along the lines of
the 1958, another fabulous vintage
here. The nish retains very attractive
elements of classicism and sheer
tannic clout. The 1968 Riserva can
be enjoyed today, but ideally it is
best opened several hours prior to
being served. In 1968 the Riserva
was made from a blend of vineyards
in Montemarano, Pian dAngelo
and Castelfranci, three of the most
renowned spots for Aglianico.

u: very top shoulder, nicked capsule,
bin-soiled label
I had this wine twice over a period
of thirty days, rating it an astounding
99 and 98 points. A monumental
California Cabernet Sauvignon, it
appears to have approached its
plateau of maturity but should easily
last for 20-25 more years. There is no
rust, amber, or brown to the saturated
dark purple color. The spectacular,
huge, Mouton-Rothschild-like nose
of mint, cassis, lead pencil, and toast
is remarkably youthful. Staggeringly
concentrated, this full-bodied, super-
rich wine possesses moderate tannin,
fresh, lively acidity, and a blockbuster,
rich, eshy nish. This is a monumental
effort! R. Parker, 98 pts. 08/94

Chateau Montelena Cabernet
Sauvignon Estate 1997
Napa
There are 10,200 cases of the
remarkable 1997 Cabernet Sauvignon
Estate. Opaque purple-colored with a
dense, chewy, full-bodied personality,
it displays abundant cassis, mineral,
and earth notes. This brilliantly made,
super-concentrated, pure, blockbuster
possesses sweet tannin as well as a
terric nish. Having added additional
weight since last year, this sumptuous,
multilayered, profoundly concentrated
Cabernet contains 14% alcohol. It is a
candidate for 25-30 years of longevity.

1. All bidders and buyers of wine must be at least 21 years of age and shall present satisfying legal documentation of this at auction.
In the event the buyer is a partnership or corporate entity, the receiver of the wine shall furnish proof fulfilling this criteria.
2. Some of the lots in this sale are offered subject to a reserve. The reserve is a confidential minimum price agreed upon by the consignor and Skinner, Inc., below which
the lot will not be sold. In most cases, the reserve will be set below the estimated range, but in no case will it exceed the estimates listed. A representative of Skinner, Inc.
will execute such reserves by bidding for the consignor. In any event, and whether or not a lot is subject to a reserve, Skinner, Inc. and Lower Falls Wine Co. may reject any
bid or raise not commensurate with the value of such lot.
3. All property is sold as is, and neither Skinner, Inc. and Lower Falls Wine Co. nor any consignor makes any warranties or representation or any kind or nature with
respect to the property, and in no event shall they be responsible for the correctness, nor deemed to have made any representation or warranty, or description, genuineness,
authorship, attribution, provenance, period, culture, source, origin, or condition of the property and no statement made at the sale, or in the bill of sale, or invoice, or in the
catalog, or elsewhere shall be deemed such a warranty of representation or an assumption of liability. Prospective buyers are urged to inspect those lots they have interest
in.
4. Except as provided in paragraph 1 above, the highest bidder as determined by Skinner, Inc. shall be the purchaser. In the case of a disputed bid, the auctioneer shall
have sole discretion in determining the purchaser and may also, at his or her election, withdraw the lot or reoffer the lot for sale. The auctioneer shall have sole discretion
to refuse any bid, or refuse to acknowledge any bidder. Please note Massachusetts state law requires all purchasers of alcoholic beverages be at least 21 years of age. Any
bidder that plans on spending in excess of $100,000 should make arrangements with the accounting department at least five (5) days in advance of the sale, as a deposit
may be required to participate.
5. All merchandise purchased is payable directly to Skinner Inc., and must be paid for the day of the auction. All merchandise must be removed from Lower Falls Wine Co.
within forty five (45) days of the auction, and in no event shall Skinner Inc. or Lower Falls Wine Co. have any liability for any damage to property left on its premises for more
than fourteen (14) days after the sale. Lower Falls Wine Co. may impose, and the purchaser agrees to pay, a monthly storage fee per lot as determined by Lower Falls Wine
Co. (see Collection of Wines). If any property has not been removed within forty five (45) days from the date of sale, at the option of Skinner, Inc. and Lower Falls Wine Co.
(a) the merchandise may be transferred to and stored at a bonded warehouse and the purchaser agrees to pay all transfer and storage expenses, and/or (b) Skinner Inc. and
Lower Falls Wine Co. may place the merchandise in a subsequent auction, without Reserve, to be sold to the highest bidder, and after deducting the standard commission
and any additional charges that may apply, remit the proceeds to the purchaser.
6. Acceptable forms of payment are cash, good check, or wire transfers, payable in U.S. dollars. Checks will be acceptable only if credit has been established with Skinner
or if a bank authorization has been received guaranteeing the check. Skinner, Inc. and Lower Falls Wine Co. reserve the right to hold merchandise purchased until the funds
have cleared the bank. The purchaser agrees to pay Skinner and/or Lower Falls Wine Co. a handling charge of $25.00 for any check dishonored by the drawee.
7. If the purchaser breaches any of its obligations under these Conditions of Sale, including its obligation to pay in full the purchase price of all items for which it was the
highest successful bidder, Skinner Inc. and Lower Falls Wine Co. may exercise all of its rights and remedies under the law including, without limitation, (a) canceling the sale
and applying any payments made by the purchaser to the damages caused by the purchasers breach, and/or (b) offering at public auction, without reserve, any lot or item
for which the purchaser has breached any
of its obligations, including its obligation to pay in full the purchase price, holding the purchaser liable for any deficiency plus all costs of sale.
8. In no event will the liability of Skinner, Inc. and Lower Falls Wine Co. to any purchaser with respect to any item exceed the purchase price actually paid by such purchaser
for such item.
9. Lower Falls Wine Co. may, in their discretion and at purchasers request, package and arrange for delivery as directed by the purchaser. In such event, purchaser agrees
that (a) all such packaging, handling and delivery is at the sole risk of the purchaser and that Skinner, Inc. and Lower Falls Wine Co. shall have no liability for any loss or
damage to such items, and (b) purchaser shall pay in advance, all packaging expenses, including labor, materials, carriers fees and all insurance charges. Please arrange

for obtaining any permits or licenses on behalf of purchaser and no sale shall be cancelled or refunded for lack of purchasers noncompliance with permitting and licensing
issues. (Please see Collection of Wines)
10. A premium equal to 23% of the final bid price up to and including $100,000, plus 20% of the final bid price from $100,001 up to and including $1,000,000, plus 12% of
the final bid price from $1,000,001 and over will be applied to each lot sold, to be paid by the buyer as part of the purchase price.
11. Bidding on any item indicates your acceptance of these terms and all other terms printed within, posted, and announced at the time of sale whether bidding in person,
through a representative, by phone, by Internet, or other absentee bid.
12. Skinner, Inc. and its consignors make no warranty or representation, express or implied, that the purchaser will acquire any copyright or reproduction rights to any lot
sold. Skinner, Inc. expressly reserves the right to reproduce any image of the lots sold in this catalog. The copyright in all images, illustrations and written material produced
by or for Skinner, Inc. relating to a lot, including the contents of this catalog, is, and shall remain at all times, the property of Skinner, Inc. and shall not be used by the
purchaser, nor by anyone else, without our prior written consent.

Ullage of wines of vintages fifteen years and younger may be assumed to be of bottom neck or better unless otherwise noted.
Similarly, regarding older vintages, lack of notation indicates acceptable and appropriate ullage, clear label and sound cork;
potential bidders must be prepared for reasonable variations in ullage in all vintages older than 20 years. Bidders with
specific condition questions should contact the Fine Wines department. Conditions generally not noted on group lots.
Bordeaux wines are catalogued referencing the 1855 classification. Chateau Petrus cataloguing reflects the practice of granting it 1er
Cru Classe and other notable Pomerol Chateaux are designated Cru Classe. All Bordeaux wines may assume to be chateau bottled
unless otherwise stated.
It is standard practice for Skinner/Lower Falls Wine to open all original wooden cases (owc) for visual inspection. The opening of
banded cases will be determined on an individual basis.
For Burgundy, German wines and all other more gradually slope-shouldered bottles, the ullage measurement is taken in centimeters
from cork base, e.g. 3cm, 5cm, 7cm.
Bottle Sizes
bottle (750 ml) jeroboam (4xbt); Burgundy, Champagne demi bottle (demi)
magnum (2xbt) jeroboam (6xbt); Bordeaux split (1/4 bottle) Champagne
marie jeanne (3xbt) imperiale (8xbt); Bordeaux
double magnum (4xbt) methuselah (8xbt); Burgundy
Buyers Caution: Levels are as when catalogued; ullage may change due to cork deterioration; other bottle conditions may occur
during storage and shipment. Risk of ullage variation and cork deterioration and/or failure is assumed by the buyer at time of
sale and no sale cancellations, price negotiations, or bottle substitutions will be undertaken by either Skinner or Lower Falls Wine.
Similarly, no substitutions will be made due to inaccurate descriptions.
Flights of Lots: Are of the same type, vintage and bottle count and follow one after another numerically, though ullage and bottle
conditions may vary. The auctioneer may exercise discretion to offer, in consecutive lot order and at that same price, the following
lots in the flight to the first successful bidder of that flight. Subsequently, those lots not purchased will be offered anew and so on.
Absentee bids placed on any lot in a flight will be applied to the next lot in the flight (if unsuccessful), until the flight concludes.
Environmental Note: It has only been in the last 15-20 years that the wine industry has moved away from using lead capsules to
cover the cork and neck of a bottle. When opening an older wine, if you do have a lead capsule, give consideration as to how you
dispose of it.
