The Fuel Manager is mounted on the inner guard of the drivers side back corner of the engine bay, see (Fig 1). The bracket is secured in place by two 8mm studs and one 8mm bolt. The rear stud and bolt are currently used to mount the ABS relay and an anti theft warning horn see (fig 2). Both these items are remounted in the same position after installation but are slightly modified. NOTE: Later model Pajeros may not have the horn.
The Pajeros factory filter is located on the firewall on the passengers side, see (Fig 1) . Fuel hoses will be routed from this filter to the Fuel Manager across the firewall and back again. Ensure the hoses are safely secured. KIT CONTENTS

Ensure the engine bay is clean and free from contaminants. The Fuel Manager unit has arrows which indicate flow located under the ports. Install all fittings and plugs into the filter assembly using a suitable thread paste such as Threebond1110B. Kit Part # FM607DPK INSTRUCTIONS (cont)
4. Now install the brass plugs & fittings into the Fuel Manager housing as follows (Use a suitable thread sealant on the threads). 5. Install the two blanking plugs into threaded holes at position #3 & #4. These numbers are found near each threaded hole. 6. Install a brass quick fitting into hole #1. 7. Install the extension adapter into hole #2, then screw the last brass quick fitting into the adapter. Take note of the arrows near the threaded holes which indicate direction of flow ; IN < / OUT >. 8. Mount the Fuel Manager filter to the bracket & secure using the 10 mm bolts & nuts. (see Fig 6). 9. Connection of fuel hose: Image Ref. 007 shows the plumbing of the factory filter in standard configuration. Note which is the INLET & which is the OUTLET. Loosen the hose clamps and remove the short hose that connects the steel supply pipe on the firewall to the INLET pipe of the filter. This Hose is no longer required. 10. Cut the 4 metres of fuel hose supplied into half. INSTRUCTIONS
1. Disconnect the wire from the horn. With a small screwdriver release the clasp to allow the ABS relay to be removed from its mounting bracket. Now remove the bolt & nut that secures the bracket to the inner guard. Modify the bracket by bending it about 45 degrees as shown in image Fig 3. The horn is also mounted by the same bolt. Dismantle the two piece Horn bracket as shown in image Fig 4. Only the flat metal piece attached to the horn is used when re-mounting the horn. 2. Place two 10mm bolts through the Direction Plus Fuel Manager bracket prior to sliding the bracket onto the two studs on the inner guard, secure with a nut on the front stud only. 3. Re-position the newly modified ABS relay bracket & secure with a nut. Now re-position the horn & secure with the bolt. Tighten both nuts & the bolt. Re-fit the ABS relay to its bracket, & re-connect the horn wire. (see Fig 5). MITSUBISHI PAJERO PRE-FILTER FITTING INST. (cont) INSTRUCTIONS (cont)
Route one hose from the factory fuel filter across the firewall to the Fuel Manager filter. Install one of the black quick fittings and secure with a hose clamp. Attach this to the inlet of the Fuel Manager. The other end of the hose needs to be connected to the steel supply pipe on the firewall near the factory filter. Clamp end securely.
Route the other hose from the factory fuel filter across the firewall to the Fuel Manager filter. Install a black quick fit using a hose clamp and connect to the Fuel Manager OUTLET brass fitting (#1), The other end of the hose needs to be connected to the INLET of the factory filter. Take care not to kink the hose by bending it too tightly. Tighten the clamps. Image Ref. 008 shows the plumbing of the factory filter after hoses have been connected.
IMPORTANT!! Take extreme care with cleanliness!!! Do not allow dirt or foreign particles to enter the hose or fittings! Double check your connections regarding flow are correct before checking the hose clamps are tight. Use Zip-ties to tie the hoses between both ends.
11. Purge air from the system by temporarily removing the hose from the outlet of the factory filter. Place a small container under the outlet pipe to catch diesel. Pump the button primer until an air free stream fuel flows, now replace the hose and tighten the clamp.
12. Continue pumping the primer until it feels firm.
13. Start the engine. It should take about 3 - 4 seconds of cranking to start.
14. Check the installation for leaks. Fuel Manager fitted to the inner guard driver side back corner Ref. 001 Secure newly modified bracket and refit ABS relay.
