AutoForm
plus
R4 A Breakthrough for the Sheet Metal Forming
Industry
Wilen b. Wollerau, Switzerland, June 14, 2012: AutoForm Engineering GmbH, the leading
supplier of software solutions for the sheet metal forming industry, has unveiled its latest
software version AutoForm
plus
R4. This release is the result of AutoForms largest
software development endeavor ever. AutoForm
plus
R4 development was driven by the
vision of a Comprehensive Digital Process Planning system. It allows users to quantify and
evaluate all planning aspects of stamped sheet metal parts, such as function, quality, lead
time and cost. The completely new and ergonomically designed AutoForm
plus
User
Interface integrates these aspects and allows users to reach a new level of
competitiveness.
AutoForm
plus
R4 is the fourth major release of the new product line AutoForm
plus
. The brand new
state-of-the-art user interface released with AutoForm
plus
R4 has a completely new look and feel. It
was built from the ground up in order to provide better support for user ergonomics, increase
productivity and support Comprehensive Digital Process Planning. The AutoForm
plus
User Interface
is a fully native Windows application. By supporting this industry standard operating system,
AutoForm enables customers to increase their productivity, work in their standard IT environment
and decrease their administrative overhead. This version offers complete step-by-step functionalities
in order to ensure a consistent and repeatable workflow throughout the entire stamping process
chain.
AutoForm
plus
R4 allows a complete quantitative piece cost analysis as material, production and
tooling costs can be determined at any stage of the planning process. Furthermore, with
AutoForm
plus
R4, interpreting results can be carried out even faster and more easily. Semi-
automatic issue identification facilitates and speeds up the identification of stamping issues, their
types and locations. In addition, AutoForm
plus
R4 features full AutoForm-Sigma integration,
enabling engineers to systematically resolve forming problems and improve forming processes. For
projects engineered and simulated using AutoForm software, a report file can be easily generated
and is now integrated into the AutoForm design file.
Along with the new software version, AutoForm Engineering is also releasing AutoForm-
ProcessDesigner
forCATIA
, which represents a further integration of the AutoForm methodology into
the CATIA environment and allows for the rapid creation of CAD quality die faces. AutoForm
plus
R4
fully supports the usage and management of individual company standards, such as costing, die-
face and simulation standards. AutoForm thus ensures that work undertaken is consistent and in
compliance with the norms and standards of each individual organization.
Dr. Markus Thomma, Corporate Marketing Director of AutoForm Engineering, stated: With a host
of new functionalities, such as process and data integration, implementation of company
standards, automatic issue-based result evaluation and many more breakthrough innovations,
AutoForm
plus
R4 provides great benefits to users by significantly increasing productivity, ease-of-
use and turn-around time. I am convinced that our customers will greatly appreciate the efforts we
have made and be very excited about our new software release. AutoForm
plus
R4 will be available
on the market in fall 2012.
