Easy Mounting and Wiring

Safety and Speedy Terminal Functions

MS-N series contactors, starters and relays can all be mounted on DIN rail (35mm wide). For easy wiring, coil terminals are
arranged on the upper side of the contactors. In addition, distance is unified between the DIN rail center and coil terminals
at 38.5mm. (S-N10-N21, MSO-N10-N21 and SR-N4)

Models which have finger protection provide a more safe and

speedy connection, even when using closed eyelet (ring) type
terminal lugs.

Stronger Design
The molded thermo plastic provides improved barrier strength.

Easy Inspection
Contacts can be easily inspected by removing the arc cover.

Improvement of Electromagnet
The spiral kick-out spring improves the balance of moving
parts, reducing bounce, lengthening core life and stabilizing
core movement.
Electromagnet efficiency has been engineered using computer
analysis. The contactor is capable of withstanding voltage
drops up to 35% (at closing of contact).

Superlative Breaking Performance

New improved arc-quenching mechanism (patented) offers
superior current-interrupting capabilities. All Mitsubishi contactors feature capacity sufficient for a 690V circuit.

Less Noise and Surge from Coil

When switching a coil, the energy will be dissipated within the
internal circuit of electromagnet

Humming Completely Eliminated

Stationary contact

DC excitation does not cause humming so operation is quiet.

Contactor Coils Have a Wide Range of Ratings

The number of coil types has been cut by two-thirds and there
is no need to re-wire for different frequencies. The coil also
withstands large voltage drops.

Designed with Ease of Use in Mind

1. S-N10~S-K65 units can all be mounted on DIN rail (35mm
wide).
2. A variety of blocks and optional features are available including:
Standard front clip-on auxiliary contact blocks (four pole
type and two pole type).
Low-level signal front clip-on auxiliary contact blocks.
Side clip-on auxiliary contact blocks.
Surge absorbers (varistor and CR models).
Surge absorbers with LED operating indicators.
Mechanical interlocks
3. Compact arc quenching and magnet layout greatly reduces
installation space.
4. The coil rating is displayed in a location readily visible even
after the unit is installed onto the panel.
5. Contacts are visible when the arc cover is removed, allowing them to be checked easily.

Electrical life (million of operations, average)

The electrical life of the main contacts of a contactor is determined mainly by the circuit-opening duty it will perform.
The relationship between electrical life and rated current of
Mitsubishi contactors under normal and jogging duties of
squirrel-cage motors is shown in Fig. 1.4.1 and 1.4.2
In the case of a mixture of normal and jogging duties, the
expected contactor life can be determined as follows:

SD-M19.
Compact construction: Width 45mm, Height 48mm, Depth 61mm in Type SD-M11
Mountable on 35mm DIN rails Operating indicator (LED)
Coil surge absorber Bifurcated auxiliary moving contacts having high contact reliability
Safety clear terminal cover
Easy wiring: All terminals are in the same plane
Integrated reversing contactor with mechanical and electrical interlock
